Thank you so much Kathryn for making journal making so accessible and achievable. I really do appreciate how generous you are in sharing your creative process with us. I also love the fact that you use the bare minimum of specialised artists’ materials/equipment when you’re creating your journal elements. Best wishes always ❤️
How beautiful. Have always enjoyed collage, but you take it to a further level. I'm looking forward to trying out some of these techniques. And your haiku is just right. Thank-you for sharing this with us, Kathryn. ❤
Yes! I would love to watch you doing collages. Those inside cover are lovely. I like them a lot. The journal looks great. I hope do mine and follow journaling with you for self care. Thank you for sharing 😊
I am up early and this is the perfect quiet time to have a cup of tea and enjoy watching a little journaling. Merry Christmas to you and your Children K3n! Thank you for the peace your videos bring me.
I am watching this in bed, giving myself a ‘holiday’ from my usual 6.45am walk, but wanting to get up and get going on a journal! I love all these different ideas, Kathryn. Thanks so much for sharing them with us 😊❤
Your fabulous imagination working with depths of layers on your collages is fantastic. A story and a reason for each layer all seamlessly flowing into the other! When my grandmother taught me to collage in a "scrapbook" at a very early age...little did we know we were making an Art Journaling project! Grandma and I spent hours and hours with our books. Grandma lived through the depression raising five boys so bonding with her granddaughter of many various forms of creativity. Thank heavens for grandmothers. Thanks for your knowledge, creativity and voice! Your Park Home Life are my field trips I love so much as well. x's lj
Loved the way you did the pieces around the archway, it looks really great just like rocks. The shadows from the changing light are no bother for me.😊🇦🇺
What lovely surprise gift you have sent today. Thank you so much, Kathryn. This journal is beautiful and certainly one of a kind. Hope you are enjoying a lovely day with family.
Enjoying this series and the Kofi video on the pages. Usually when I collage I take a picture with my phone before I start gluing, That way I can easily reproduce my original design. I'm having fun designing the cover. Thanks for the video. Enjoy the holidays!
Merry Christmas Kathryn to you your children, Fred Fred and Stella. May it be a lovely time just to be together. We have finished Christmas for this year and now I am chilling out listening to your tutorial getting ready for tomorrow finish off my journal. I pray that this coming year for you will bring much comfort, joy and strength. Cheers Cathy🌻🌻
Hi Kathryn, I hope you've had a lovely Christmas with your family. I'm at my daughter's watching this on Boxing day. I feel really inspired to make an art journal with you, I have made them before but it's nice to make along with someone else it's more fun. My husband is thinking of making one too. Watch this space 😂 love Bella xx
This was a lovely surprise to watch today. Thank you. I, too, dove into haiku for over a year and just love it. Yours is profound, thank you for sharing it. I really appreciate your process. Listening to you talk us through it is so helpful. You are an amazing creator and it shows itself in all mediums. ❤ Merry Christmas!
your journal turned out so beautiful and telling what it’s all about just with looking at this catching lady’s image on the cover, amazing! I also love the symbolism of the door opening into wide spaces on the first page. It’s amazing how you always manage to exactly tear out images, wish I could do it that way myself 🙊 … thank you for that video and I wish you a merry time with your children, 🤗Angelika
Wonderful to spend my quiet Christmas morning watching you journal! Love your quote (and walking right behind you in spirit!). Love and hugs to you and your family 🍀💖❤️🐕😻🎄
Hi Kathryn, I hope you're enjoying time with your kids and getting a well deserved break. I don't think I'm going to participate in this series, at least not initially as a whole year project. I will do the cloth series and will be tuning in to this one just to listen to you whitter, because you're a joy. I might do a short paper journal later in the year. I've done scrapbooking in the past & have some materials, but I find I'm happier with short, 10-20 page units that focus on a topic, a trip, a memory, or working out an idea. Committing to a year of weekly feels overwhelming. So, maybe in the summer as reflective time. We'll see. Meanwhile, I'm sorting out my goals for the new year. Thank you again, you are wonderful ❤❤
I love your arch picture. It invites you to go deeper. 💖 My signatures are sewn in. Now to decorate. 😊. Thank you, Kathryn, for sharing this year long project. 💖💖💖
This has been so interesting to watch. I’m always learning something new be it stitching and now journaling. Thank you so much. Wishing you peace and joy in the future.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year Kathryn. This video was delightful and fascinating. Your collage is just outstanding and i would love to see more. x
Merry Christmas Kathryn to you & your family ❤ This is lovely i enjoy mixed media art too. I remember some time back you mentioned Kate Thompson, i done her Fractured Angelics course many years ago so it would be lovely to see a little art inspired by the wonderful Kate. Anyway enjoy the time with your family x
I went out on the 21st to retrieve my bundles. I found only one out of 7. At first I was a bit disappointed but then I thought, well I have one and it turned out beautifully, a bit fragile but beautiful just the same. I will use it in a journal I think. I also think that maybe the abundant wild life around here needed the bundles more then I did.lol nests and all that sort of thing. Next winter I’ll have to see if I can make it so I don’t loose quite so many lol ❤
Can you believe that with when I was young, I went to 7 schools in 3 very different countries, and I have only ever made 1 collage? And I didn't even do it right 😬 being a Virgo I found it difficult covering whole images up, tearing papers, colouring out of lines, it just was not something that I enjoyed 😅 Now that I'm 56 it seems appropiate to give it another go and let go completely...I want to be free! 😂😂😂 Thanks for this tutorial Kathryn ❤
A wonderful video! I have been art journaling since 2015. I started with prompts from Documented Life Project with Robyn Marie Smith and others. Even with my experience there is so much more to learn from your instruction. And things I have forgotten. I look forward to the new year, journaling with you!
Hi Kathryn. For me you don't need to edit much out. If you take long, I just watch long ... Or, in fact, I don't watch all the time, I listen to your soothing voice talking about what you do and more. In the mean time I am doing whatever I am doing. 😊
I'm so excited and inspired to do this book journal along with you in 2025. It will help deal with old children issues. Your book is awesome so far. I love your haiku, and I hope you don't mind me using it in my journal with of course you as the author. Strictly for my own possession. Hope your are having the best time with your children and I wish you all a Very Happy, Prosperous New Year. And All Your Followers.💚💛💚
This journal is exquisite!!! It’s exquisite. I want to sit on your couch and just hold it. Do you ever do that with your journals? Become so enamored of them you just pick it up to hold it? I too ink Ev. Er. Y. Thing. 😁 The dedication page was so moving. That arch way …and how you placed it at the corner where you pick up the page to turn into the journal, it’s so good. I was going to build a journal. I’ve discovered over the last two yearsI love to make books. But I had a notebook I’d already altered the covers and started writing in my Words Journal(second one). And I just in the end didn’t feel like making another one. I felt like keeping both going might be stressful for me at this time. So I’m just going to gesso and add pages as I go and create a whatever wants to be in the journal journal. And I feel so happy to have permission to do that. I knew you would be over my shoulder saying: you. do. you. I’m really looking forward to a different way to journal with you for another year. Really ♥️🩷 I do hope it’s been fulfilling to have the kids home with you this week (It’s still dark out, no glasses on yet. I apologize if there are typos and missing words as I’m wont to do. )
Oh Marian! I'm am early to rise early to bed girl, with a bedtime around 8 and sleeping by 10. So I wouldn't be a watcher but a catch er upper. I would love to hear your love story, and if you had bother with anything. Xxxx
Where did you get the little Emily Dickenson quote tag? Im looking forward to starting my journal 😊. I have followed along with the Monday journal and mine too is now quite fat 😊 Wishing you all the best for the coming year

❤I love watching your creative process. We learn to avoid potential frustrations by listening to the voice of experience. ❤
How fitting!! Your button looks like a mariner's compass! May it guide your way in 2025. Blessings to you!
I like the fluffy head appearing and the shadows really don’t impact it much at all.
How beautiful. Have always enjoyed collage, but you take it to a further level. I'm looking forward to trying out some of these techniques. And your haiku is just right. Thank-you for sharing this with us, Kathryn. ❤
My pleasure Jill 😊
Yes! I would love to watch you doing collages. Those inside cover are lovely. I like them a lot. The journal looks great. I hope do mine and follow journaling with you for self care. Thank you for sharing 😊
Love waking up and finding a new video from K3N. ❤

Yes. I’d love to see more colageing. Never done it but would like to give it a try. Never did it in school.
I love your videos. Best wishes always ❤

I do that too sometimes but I couldn't do it here as I was filming with my phone 😁❤️
Merry Christmas Kathryn to you your children, Fred Fred and Stella. May it be a lovely time just to be together.

A tip to tear around images is to 'draw' a line with a paintbrush dipped in water first then it tears easily where the damp line is ♥️
@ that‘s the trick😅, thank you!!!
Wonderful to spend my quiet Christmas morning watching you journal! Love your quote (and walking right behind you in spirit!). Love and hugs to you and your family 🍀💖❤️🐕😻🎄
Yes please show us how to collage. I love learning new things and can honestly say I have not done much collaging!
Such a gorgeous journal, Kathryn 😍 I'm so looking forward to sharing your journey with it in 2025. Best wishes, Beth x
