@@ryanrake2714 It’s a yellow sign so it’s a speed advisory which is helpful for drivers so they know that they may need to slow down for a curve, especially useful for telling a semi that it could flip if taking it too quick

This C8 with Z51 package makes a lot of cars costing twice as much hard to justify.

It was beaten by a BMW M3 competition though lol. It looks great but is slow compared to that. Car Wow did a race between them and i think the Corvette only won 1 out of 4.

Glad to see American supercars catching back up! Fantastic car and review. How relaxed the engine is at almost 90 mph points to the serious speeds this thing can achieve.
I never liked corvettes, but as a mechanic myself I have to to give chevy/GMC props on improving their trucks and the corvette. I would take this corvette over many Euro or Japanese race cars. And I never used to say that.

At least 8.5k I'd say. Sounds like a damn Ferrari V8 too, that flat plane crank and exotic firing order. Wonder how those engines will hold up though, definitely won't be as reliable as good ol' pushrods.

@@DEVILTAZ35 Most of the trim is already leather and GM ditched that awful plastic. The 3LT trim has the whole thing wrapped in leather/aluminum and there’s a couple color options for it
@Eric Hamilton The dual clutch auto box is infinitely faster and paddles are better for track use, so they’re not gonna give it a manual sadly.

An F-Type is two or three quality classes higher, and VICIOUSLY faster. The interior is real leather, super comfortable Connelly hides vs GM's paper thin, composite made in China "leather." I have that crap in my 3LT C7 Grand Sport Collector Edition. The F-Type's Roll Royce transmission is the best in the world, most agree its the best of all time. Its 100% aluminum construction with glass paint, vs the C8's all plastic body with awful ripples, flaws, drips, runs and orange peel everywhere. Some C8 plastic panel gaps are almost an inch wide, especially bad at the tops of the doors at the hinge, and the front wheel openings don't fit the wheelbase. The F-Type is absurdly overbuilt, weighing a whopping 3600 pounds (Edmunds weighed the C8 at almost 3700) due to using the JLR parts bin, top end Range Rover off road double wishbone suspension. An F-Type would navigate riverbeds with more clearance, and it is sensational vs uneven pavement and potholes. But the same overbuilt nature is what allows owners to dial them up to 700HP with no other mods. And the F is a 50/50, 1.2G handling masterpiece, vs a 63R/37F, 0.95G understeering disaster. A Camry SFX out lateral Gs a C8. The V8 F is also the best sounding car of all time, the C8 has artificial car-like sound played through the stereo, it sounds really, really bad. In 0-60, a stock F-Type (hardly any run stock) does 3.29 on Dragy. The fastest stock C8 0-60 run of all time is 4.12 secs on Dragy. With a $1500 tune and pulley package, a 2 hr DIY, the F has a 2.81 on Dragy which is 0.05 secs faster than the fastest C7 ZR1. So you really can't compare the two, the F is the best all around performance car ever produced, the C8 isn't on that planet.
83 mph and still under 2000 RPMS. Amazing. I noticed the car seemed like it was almost idleing. One thing that younger guys may or may not miss is the pleasures of driving a stickshift. Sure you are in a rocketship thats running all smooth. But you are not hooked up to the road the way you are through a manual transmission.
Yeah dude, you can go check out an R8 in manual and oh my, it's fuckin something else. Never been able to drive one, but I truly do think that nothing beats the feel of a manual transition imo.

Excellent review. This is the version we are about to get in Australia. I think this is the better version than the 5.5 litre engine with the flatplane crankshaft. The sound of this crossplane V8 is so evocative - old school American automotive, something that Australia has been in love with for decades.
For the looks and power I think this new Corvette beats most supercars that cost 3-5 times more.

I love how it feels like a one seater car . Everything is like leaned in towards the driver . The screen, it feels like the passenger is secluded and the driver is the only one in the car . You understand ? I love that barrier in between the driver and passenger
That first right hand +1g turn was impressive. First car show I went to 25 years ago with my grandfather in his 1927 Buick roadster, the baby blue stingray got me. I told myself I would own a corvette in the future this z51 might be it.
What's most impressive is how much performance this base corvette has. it's easy to forget that this is just the very first iteration of the C8. Super curious to learn the specs of the top dog ZR1 version. That thing will be able to go toe to toe with all the super cars.
The zr1 will NOT be the best. The Zora will.

Drove a base model last weekend. I’m actually impressed at its ability to be a daily driver but also really fun. No manual transmission but it’s still fun to drive

Great driving review and picking up all the details driving the car. We just got our second C8; one for me 2020 one for her! 2021. I have done a lot to the 2020, loaded z51, mag ride, 3LT, carbon everything. I lowered that one, did track alignment, added forgeline wheels, lowered, etc. GREAT track car. I went from a 2019 Huracan to the two C8’s and well worth it. Glad you are loving yours!

Hi, How can I cover the Vents on the Rear when I want to Wash the Car? Do I place a Large Towel to cover the Engine Compartment when the engine is off? Can you give some Suggestions, it would be Appreciated.
You do a really good job of giving your impressions. Part of this is because you have driven several different C8's and have learned what really works best and what you think of it.
Most reviewers drive it once and are still trying to grasp the experience while doing the review. That isn't the way to do it.
You make it clear that the track alignment is the way to go. Removes all the under steer issues...
Most practical and informative review of this vehicle to date. Each subsequent review builds on your prior reviews. This is really helpful.

Nice video. Impressive mid engine sports car that won't break the bank. Not really a fan of that exterior color or the rear end styling of the vehicle but inside looks spectacular, a big improvement over the C7.

My allocation will be here next week, and I plan on driving it 3-6 months due to personal reason. Is there any configuration recommended, to reduce exposure, for resale since I’ll be selling within 6 months after driving it? I can only afford the 1LT so that’s a must. Color choices (exterior and interior), options, etc?
Whats the /heads up displaying which is flashing all the time? Also has this unlocked all its power, as chevy states the first 5000 miles its only got 490 HP then after 500 miles the engine unlocks the rest which is around a extra 50 hp approx?
