Probably because they are just making the same engine better from the 80s saves a lot in R and D. I wouldn’t be surprised if their v8 is cheaper to manufacture than their v6 engines.

Probably the best handling/performance for the money seeing you take the curvy inbound-outbound at that speed is insane and the cockpit is so much nicer than outgoing vettes

General Motors as a whole has definitely stepped up their interior game compared to like 10 years ago lol. Looks like an Italian car inside of that new Corvette.

When I was a kid I was obsessed with the Lamborghini Countach and the Diablo. This is the first car since then that I can't get enough of.
I'm able to achieve 30+ mpg on the highway in V4 mode just cruising. Love how it's a track monster when you get on it, and the fuel economy of a small family sedan when you want to.
I love how driver-focused the cabin is, and I'm honestly impressed at how well they kept up the Corvette heritage despite the mid-engine design

The C8 Corvette is our modern day 91 NSX. Simple, elegant, engaging, exciting is formula that the NSX used which made them so awesome. I feel that Honda/Acura fanboys and fangirls must be thinking that Chevy has built the mid engine supercar we all been waiting for 20yrs.
This nearly rekindled my love for cars. Especially those of the sports variety.

Christopher Knapp actually you’re wrong. a McLaren 540s is actually a lot worse than a Lamborghini Huracan, yet is more expensive. Yes, may perform better but quality is hellish in comparison. Friend of mine has 200k on his Huracan, the other friend with the McLaren didnt make it to 30k miles before it busted and needed 10k repairs.

The transmission is exactly why I went with my 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. I wanted the Tremec six speed manual. I’m in still in love with the Corvette of course!
