Early last year I got to experience the 8th generation of the Corvette Stingray, with the big change being the mid-engine layout! Opening up the C8 on some amazing back roads and on the track at Spring Mountain was an awesome time, but one year later we are getting to spend some more time with the C8 in the real world. So after driving many different sports cars and supercars, buying a few myself, how does the C8 feel a year later? Is it still awesome? Check out this update video of a 2021 Corvette Stingray 2LT coupe with the Z51 package, seeing what it's like to live with the C8 in the real world for a whole week. The LT2 still makes 495 hp, the 8 speed DCT still shifts quickly and the Corvette is still extremely capable and fast. The 2LT trim brings some great interior touches, plenty of technology and quality materials give this C8 the full premium experience. Exactly Arnold…..Ronin and Armadillo I can’t believe your even comparing a Mustang to a Corvette. If you want to compare them to something try a Camaro or a Charger. The Corvette’s always been in a different class.
What the C8 provides across the board, from esthetics to overall performance, handling, and price, it's a no brainer. Admirable job by its designers, engineers and builders.
Potential buyers should strongly consider the convertible version of the C8. Your exercise with storage space and the targa top exemplify that point! You could have left your gear in place, pressed a button, and the top would have neatly disappeared into the engine compartment. The rear window that goes up and down on the convertible is also incredibly practical. When you want a little fresh air into the car, just lower the rear window. It works much better than lowering the side windows. As an added benefit, you get to enjoy the engine roar if you so desire!
well the downside is that you don't get to see the awesome engine in the convertible

Congratulations! A good friend of mine just picked his Red Mist Convertible 2LT from the museum last week! He says it’s a lot more comfortable than his previous C7.

I hope so. thats pure bliss. i only ever experimced a 9k rL woth my gt3 porshe but thats a flat 6. would be insnane in v8 naturally aspirated. because thats my only complaint with the c8 it doesmt have a high enough rev limit. 6800 not enough for this car.

Too bad the front hood doesn't open with the hinge at the headlights like previous corvettes which is also safer in case the hood pops open while driving.
I think the Z06 will officially be revealed in less than 2 months and will be highly coveted over the standard C8.

Zero chance it is revealed this year. They’re a year behind on Stingray production and have to close the factory for another week in July. They can’t afford to divert resources away from Stingrays to suddenly start making Z06s. That’s bad business.

FYI - be careful when you remove roof panel. There are 2 rubber grommets surrounding the holes where the roof panel posts are inserted. These rubber guides can stick to roof panel which would dislodge them from the hole they protect. They then can come post when you are storing in hatch or worse. In my case one dropped off without my knowledge in process of walking it to or from hatch storage and is lost.
I heard in another C8 review video that you have to be careful about washing around the rear window as it can make a ginormous mess in the engine bay.

The two fisheye cameras merge their wired images electronically to make the “overhead” view. You can switch them off.

This is exactly my choices but with chrome insignia package, body color panel flares, red stitching and CONVERTIBLE! I will look to have my wheels chromed. What is wrong with Chevrolet? No chrome wheel option!

The OCD in me can't get past the rear end. It does this weird dip in the middle and it's very noticeable from a street view. Looks like someone sat on the center of the spoiler and warped the thing

@@warren3667 it is a bit limited because you do not have freedom of choice, you are forced to buy it full optional ZL3, so it costs you the maximum possible. (108 / 109K euro) as far as taxes are concerned, I can't tell you, but in Italy it is 26% ;((
I think the designers at Chevy were out of ideas and one of them finally said "show me that Ferrari picture again".
When the C8 was introduced and I learned would be "STICKLISS" I immediately went out and purchased a brand new 2019 Grand Sport MANUAL Transmission.Thank God I acted in time. My license plate rads: C7Stick and I'm always at the World's Largest Weekly Car Show in San Clemente Saturday mornings....
Great review , for me though i take it as a super car that i will take on the track add a few parts to improve its performance , like a static wing from victor racing i find it best to improve the aero dynamics of the c8 on the track .

Are the GT1 seats more comfortable for daily driving than the GT2 seats assuming they are both in a 2LT? I'm considering the LT3 but I can't choose GT1 seats and if they are more comfortable that's more important to me.
Get the GT2 seats. They have excellent support and are extremely comfortable. They are more comfortable than the base seats. Competition seats are not comfortable for daily driving. Had my C8 4 months and even my wife says the GT2 seats are extremely comfortable even after a 6 hour trip a few weeks ago.

Like the video but I really would like to see more videos on just a base model Corvette which probably Out sales The more expensive models. Most people to buy the Corvette purchase the base model because it’s more for locks than anything else at least that was my brother perseverance and working at the Corvette plant for years.

Thing is like a jeep
All the electronics seem to be an Overkill and the car is overstyleized. The rear of the car is in Overkill and missing the classic Corvette round tail lights. Audi R8 and the Acura NSX look better. Wish GM would have kept the Corvette simple.

Complain about that 6.2 all you like I would only have that engine. 9K RPM red line flat plane just don't do it for me. Just can't beat that cross plane burble.
What do you dislike about high revving engines?
@@EddieX I just prefer the sound of of the cross plane. That high pitch sound gets tiring to me. Loved the screaming Ferraris at first then they started grating my nn nerves. Lol
I've driven both a Ferrari (458) and a C8. on street, C8. on track, 458. high revving engines (no matter what) are always best appreciated on a road course. until one is able to legitimately sustain RPMS for an extended period of time, they don't know what they're missing.
@@phillyphil1513 true. You gotta be able to stretch the legs out. The redline on the 6.2 is still impressive and makes for a better street drive or the "twisties".
