I made these videos to document my experience eating a diet termed the “Lion Diet” by Mikhaila Peterson, daughter of Jordan Peterson who introduced this diet to my thinking. Lion Diet a strict version of the Carnivore diet that only allows for ruminant meat, salt, and water. I am not a nutrition expert or doctor, but I hope you will find my story enjoyable and informational just the same.

I can so relate to everything you’ve said in this video. Especially basically being in an island eating this way. I hadn’t seen my tax lady since this time last year. She said she didn’t recognize me. It felt great when she said that. She asked me what I did. I was more than happy to share the details. I think she’s going to try. I’ve been going to her for over a decade for taxes. Congratulations on that pant size.

You're looking very trim there Dante. Sorry you've been having some dental problems but one of the nice things about carnivore is that it makes dentistry just about totally unnecessary. I haven't needed a dentist in years.

I can't believe how different you look to when you started, it's an amazing transformation. Well done! I'm going to get Christmas out of the way (I'm in the UK so Christmas is our big day, not Thanksgiving)and the go full carnivore for January. Bit worried that I can't really afford it unless I eat ground beef but I'll try it for January anyway.
I do work on a farm and we are going to get a cow killed soon so that will be good. We have about 300 cattle so I should have an endless supply of beef but the logistics is a bit hard.
Keep making the videos. I find them very informative and motivational!

Hi Phil I’m from the UK I eat 20% beef mince but I make them into burger patties from Aldi £1.79. I have beef liver which is about £1.50 on average from Asda/Morrisons. My Lion diet works out at about £3 per day during the week. I’m OMAD so I only eat in the evening when I get home I cook it all up fresh I look forward to it everyday. I get twin packs of Aldi ribeye steaks and eat them as a treat on the weekend both days which works out £15 per day on the weekend but that’s my treat. I used to smoke, drink and takeaway on the weekends I’ve saved money from not doing that so I can do this. I feel great everyday. All the best 👍

@@Eddie-Spaghetti Thank you for the tip! That was kind of what I was thinking of doing, in fact I ordered a burger press yesterday. To be honest, the last year I have had so many takeaways and just junk that I could probably eat steak everyday and still save money lol. Thanks again 😃

I know I’m watching this out of order but I really like this one being someone who was 30/32 jean in HS 1988. I’ll be 53 this year, currently wearing 42 or 44 waist pants :(. Since starting Lion via you June 1st this year I’m down 5 in waist. Was 302 at my heaviest in January, hovering mid to high 280s. Looking for 270s (lowest ever been since tracking in 2017)
Went paleo, low carb Atkins 2, Keto, now Lion. THIS is the best I’ve ever felt.

I feel like my anxiety is getting a bit better and my stress level. I spose those go hand in hand. I agree about the chicken, and salmon is probably my least favorite meats. I also hope more will come to this way of eating cuz I feel so many suffer from the crap big food pushes out there for us. we all need to get stronger mentally and physically and this is a great way to do so.

Look into water fasting my friend. It creates autophagy that removes the "junk cells". Of course I do not know your story and whether you are planning on loosing more weight, but when you look at the research of long term water fasting, the people usually do not require any skin surgery. Some good names to start are Dr Alan goldhamer or Dr Walter Longo. Best of luck, your body can do amazing things 🤗

I feel better and have a better physique on carnivore than I have as far back as I can remember and I am 37. Suffered from chronic fatigue from gut dysbiosis for most of my life, and carnivore has been the ticket to overcoming that to a great extent. As far as omad, I have done that a lot over my life, and enjoy being able to pound a 2500 calories in a big feast, but my gallbladder seems to have a hard time dealing with that fat bolus at once, so breaking it up into 2 meals helps me digest. I still fast 16+ hours daily though and have for many years.

Try looking at your local chef store, or restaurant warehouse. They'll sell you a whole ribeye roll for like 9.80 a pound, then all you need to do is slice the steaks yourself. Or you could get angus found beef for around $5 a pound. Right now it is 4.89 a pound for me. But it will all be in bulk because they usually sell to a restaurant so it comes at a very reduced price. So for ground beef you would be paying for 5, 10. 40 or 100s of lbs of ground beef, and where I am you can get it delivered. I can buy 45 lbs of bacon ends for like $100.
Also try salting your meat the night prior and letting it penetrate the meat. Your steak will taste %100 better, then if you put it on at the time of grilling, the difference is surface seasoning versus your whole steak being seasoned.

I'm surprised at how much more expensive beef is in the US vs UK. I assumed it would be the other way round. Even organic ribeye from our most expensive supermarket (Waitrose) is around $17-18/lb. Standard ribeye is around $11-12/lb here, and UK beef is predominantly grass fed anyway.

Ironic you mention the dog food. My latest dog is just over two years old and never ate dry or store dog food. I make all his dog food mostly with raw chicken quarters as the base. I run them whole through a meat grinder. I add mostly organs but also sardines, eggs, can of pumpkin, box of baby greens, etc. his teeth are spotless, no gas issues. I got back into my old levis 501s from my 30s after 2 months im 55. I eat mostly meat/fish/eggs, modest dairy, nuts and seeds and low glycemic vegetables. All because i had high blood pressure, high fasting blood sugar and joint pain. All issues have largely resolved. I mentioned in your other video i tried going almost pure carnivore which does stimulate the most weight loss but also kept my fasting and average blood sugar in the 95-105 range. By eating for example a salad with onion, bell, pepperocini, feta, parmesan, home made italian dressing with olive and MCT oil, with my primary mid day meal keeps my blood sugar range largely 75-85. I eat two meals a day. One large mid day meal and one small evening meal of something like salmon. Some days i only eat one because i dont feel hungry. Usually as you notice i tend to feel hungry around bedtime, hence why i try to eat a light second meal around 7 pm. You do not want to be eatng after 7 pm. Hard on sleep and blood sugar. If you do a carnivore diet long enough you will reach a stall in weight loss and i also just mentally struggled with not feeling good mentally and physically because once you completely deplete you body glycogen stores and you are relying on the liver to produce the glucose you need to survive, the liver kerps your blood glucose high but its not high enough to stimulate the pancreas to make insulin. So you end up with high fasting blood sugar and still low muscle and liver glycogen because the liver is running in survival mode. Hence why i said if you want to feel the best keeo the liver from having to make glycogen from protein you want to eat a small amount of low glycemic carbs with your steak. It varies with infividuals how much is optimum. Just dont fall into the trap these morons who have been on carnivore a while have and start eating a bunch of honey to keep your glycogen stores replenished. That is about the worst thing you could possibly do for your health, give it pure sugar do your blood sugar starts looking like a roller coaster. A little low glycemic carbs with your meal will keep your blood sugar flat and will keep you in moderate ketosis at the same time so you can burn both ketones snd glucose optimally. This is a long term healthy solution. Just stay away from sugar, starch, grains and most fruit. Avocados and olives are the exception. I eat an avocado everyday mid day with cayenne and chili powder as an example. I have been testing various food with a blood glucose test and oatmeal, potatoes, breads are the absolute worst things you can eat. They jack your blood sugar up high for most of the day.

@@FerrignoFreedom its all theory at this point as i have been wearing a CGM for a month snd have also been testing my blood because the CGM tends to run about 10 points high. The problem is i have been testing things like burger and fries and tacos and if you do that it can take a good week or longer to get my body back to baseline. I am only 3 months in on this diet and lifestyle and I'm still dealing with insulin resistance. So my body does not clear starchy carbs well at all. Avoid oatmeal and pasta like a plague unless you are running a marathon. I have one CGM left and im going to save it to use once im done with all the experiments to see based on my findings if i can keep my fastng/average between meal glucose consistently in the 70s-80s the problem lies in going to the gym. Even my best plan of eating timing and gym timing im still hitting the 120s and staying there for a number of hours. Going for 3 mile/45 minute walks seems to positively effect blood sugar after eating but as long as im eating mostly meat my blood sugar never spikes or gets really high. Obviously we would like to see blood sugar response like blood pressure in my mind but maybe that is unrealistic as metabolism may not be capable of regulating blood sugar that efficiently. Its all really pioneering trying to figure out what is optimum and healthy long term and to me longevity and health are the goals no matter what the diet or lifestyle.
