    A földalaltti (M1) was never drawn by horses, it was in fact the first electric underground railway in the world, the first trams were drawn by horses though
    Lángos was always served with garlic oil and a bit of salt in my childhood, all the toppings now available are touristy things. The lángos selled today are even nearly not at good as they were in my childhood. My grandmother and greataunt made the best …

    Try so.e Hungarian food when in Hungary. You can have Greek or Italian any ri.e elsewhere. Oh and that is not metro line 2, but tram line 2 that goes along the Danube. Btw what is the beautiful violin music called that you have in the background at the tram trip/parliament? Another sight I can recommend is taking the 291 bus from Nyugati pályaudvar up to the last stop and then take the chairlift up Janos hill. Amd yes sunrise at the fisherman's bastion is amazing

    Hi, it's a truly great job, nice to watch! Let me give some additional info. The metro line M1 (also called the yellow line) was the second in the world after London and the first on the continental Europe since 2. May 1896. It has nothing to do with the era of the bad memory soviet occupation, therefore it is rather old style than industrial i think. The entire line is part of the UNESCO World Heritage with so many other sights in BP. Thank you for the correct pronunciation of "s". 🙂Cheers. 🙂

    Buda peopledont look down to Pest people. Both sides of living people have their own unique characters. Buda is more green, Pest has the cultural entertaiments like, movies, museums, theatres. Pest is larger, more variety people live there. It goes back to the roots of political and economy reasons.
    Love going back to visit whenever I'm able to. I use to live on Buda side and grew up, and lived on Pest side, under the Gellert hill. I loved it. ☀️🌺

      We were given this information by a local guide on a walking tour 🤨🤪

  • @albertlugosi
    @albertlugosi 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Oh goodness me, so many inaccuracies there...
    The Fishermen's Bastion was completed in 1902. It was built to impress and has had absolutely no defensive role. Against what? Soviet artillery or American bombers in the second world war? Yes, they were in cohort to destroy Budapest as the capital of the last ally of Nazi Germany. But fat chance!
    Those buildings in the Buda castle district aren't from the 19th century. Instead, they're from the 12th and 13th centuries.
    In Europe a soft drink means a soft drink. It isn't supposed to be a glass of ice with artificial flavours mixed in. Coffee is made of roasted coffee beans. We never serve dish wash water in a cup with cream.
    Sissi wasn't a princess who lived in Vienna. She was born a Bavarian princess who became the Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary. That's how she ended up living in Vienna.
    The Statue of Liberty pre-dates the second world war. So it couldn't have been plunked there by the Soviets.
    And to snub the British, the Budapest parliament building is one metre longer than Westminster Palace.
    The Shows by the River memorial is to the victims of the holocaust. Not exclusively to the Jews, not only to Hungarian victims and not everybody who died during the second world war.
    Who told you the Budapest underground has ever been hauled by horses? No it wasn't. It was electric from the get to. By the way, the very line you were travelling on was the first underground railway in Europe. Or, as the British insist, first on the continent.
    To end this on a positive note, you're right to point out that the Soviet Red Army did liberate Hungary from Nazi rule. Which wasn't only German but at least as much Hungarian, too. Today's propaganda wants to make you believe the Soviets came to Hungary to conquer. But in fact, Hungary had a brief period of independence and democracy in 1945-1948 after which the Soviets indeed started acting as an occupying force.
