I have wrapped my own car in Avery Magnetic Burst (gloss metallic). It was the first wrap I ever did and it turned out great! I only got lifting afterwards on the first panel I did. The rest stayed looking great. That one lifting edge was to blame on me tough, not on the film. I still had to get a feel for wrapping. Afterwards I had many people asking me if I had my car repainted and "That's a great colour". It kind of had them silent for a bit when I told them it's wrap and that I did it myself. I watched a lot of your videos as training and I think that greatly helped me getting the result that I got. I want to thank you for the helpful videos and I wish you a great Christmas!
im honestly impressed with vvivid. it doesnt have the smoothest finish when you look up close but it takes a lot of abuse if you mess up just lift and try again. you will end up with dust by doing that but at least you dont have to scrap a piece
Thank you for all the info. I don't wrap but find these videos fascinating. Your delivery is so well done. Watching anyone who is great in their field is always great.
I’ve done a few wraps on bikes and the first and best wrap I did was a carbon fiber Avery and it came out flawless, and never lifted. Had it on for about a year and decided to buy one of those Chinese rolls of 4d carbon fiber, didn’t look as good as the 2d Avery and it had all sorts of issues, started lifting and cracking after a week or two.
Bought a roll of Avery SW900, can't say I'm happy with it. After application, any decent pressure on the surface will cause the air channel grid pattern to come through. I wrapped an airplane wing skin, no stretch in the vinyl, and set a 5lb counterweight on one end of the wing for riveting. I found later that the shape of the weight is now a seemingly permanent feature embedded in the wrap surface. The pattern also appears when applying heat to rub out any air bubbles. The air channel idea is great on paper, but not in reality.
Props to all the pro vinyl wrappers out there. I practiced wrapping my Lexus emblem 4 times with Avery Black Chrome Conform and failed 4 times and gave up lol.
Christian, thank you for explaining the millage of vinyl. The backing is also measured in mills. The adhesive is also. Adhesive ( the coating weight ) is measured in mills too.
A mil and a micron are not the same. You are correct that a "mil' is a thousandth of an inch. Unfortunately, many people these days use "mil" as short for millimetre (especially bicycle enthusiasts) so the short-form "mil" has become ambiguous. A micron is a millionth of a meter.
Please, do a video on wrapping a guitar body (preferably a P bass, removable neck type, 4 screw bolt up). I don't think it would take much wrap for you. Maybe a friend with a bass that's wanting something to look different/new ? Perhaps offcuts from a car job ? I've been wrapping pickguards, access covers & the like. I figured if I'm using car paints for the body why not wrap it (I don't buy into the changing the tonal qualities bullshit). And here's the but, I am totally unsure how to do the horns on a typical shape, and how to seamlessly join the front & the back. There are guitar skins companies. But they are quite expensive, & I find their online tutorials quite confusing. Cheers Shaun.
Decided to wrap my 80’s Corolla by myself, it’s a square body car and figured an easier start. Would you recommend this for the entire project? What’s calandered?
Hi CK, any chance you can get your hands on some 'RG Vinyl', and give your honest opinion. We have the brand here in England. Its not very well known, but it looks like a good quality vinyl. It would be cool to see you have a play around with some and see how it compares to the big names.
Hi Christian, thanks for this info. I'm going to start wrapping soon and trying some stuff out. I want to do motorcycle mainly. I hope seeing this avery is the best to start with🤓
Avery was the only one that had the color I wanted, but I need it to be durable, could I put paint protection film over it? Edit: I already have the vinyl
Whats the brand of this wrap and where can i order it? Avery Dennison? I am currently wrapping a conversion van RV with vvivid gloss white i got off of amazon. Next I am going to wrap my 2014 tacoma trd sport overland build with lime green, black, grey and brown army green camo. My truck is super white color. So I was going cut out the camo patterns on the wrap. So it will be white, lime green, army green, dark grey and dark brown for the colors. Should i get gloss, matte or flat? The truck is super white gloss.
My installer thought that sw900 would be a good choice for an off-road application. Smdh didn’t even last 3 years. Pretty sad I could have chosen a thicker vinyl had I been informed.
Hey CK wraps, i dont know if you would be able to wrap a bicycle helmets. Bicycle helmets have lots of hole, edges, curves etc. Can it be wrap or no way anyone could wrap it.
Love your wrap videos. Thinking I’ll actually try and wrap a set of rims for my car. But how well does vi to wrap do winter time will it shrink and fall off???
for first time wrap VVIVID all the way. they even sent me 50m of knifeless instead of the 10 I ordered. is it because they knew i would need more than 10? and they give u 20% discount for leaving a review with a picture.. theyre the best
I'm thinking about doing wraps. Would you reccomend cheetah wrap as a beginner wrap ? I just wanna wrap my hood first then when I get more comfortable cutting and etc start working with 3m and avery. Thank you in advance!
Thanks for the info and we wait a video explaining colours and textures like satin white, what are other terms to choose the material texture and the colour. Thanks.
what do you think about teckwrap? I want to use their “Pink Sakura” candy metallic wrap on my Hummer H3. I’ve never wrapped before but i’ve been doing my research and think I could do it. But I don’t know how user friendly that might be.
Avery is the vinyl wrap for children. It's terribly easy to use in almost all applications. I've never once in my life had issues with it sticking properly.
assallammualaikum brother, brothers and sisters I want to ask why in the last stage of wrapping wrinkles occur in the folds, how to fold properly, please tutorial
Thank you very much for the extremely detailed advice and Tips!! I can't even begin to explain how much you've helped me with my wraps! But hey I have a quick but important question , Is Satin carmine red by Avery the same difficulty as this film you're showing in this video???

Hey wrapping starts at 10:22 for all the advance people beginners are advised to watch the video in it's entirety ☺️
Albert Einstein once said "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough". You sure know what you're talking about. 👍
He's definitely a bad son of a gun!
Einstein's quote was if you can't explain it to a 6-year-old then you don't understand it yourself

Not even 1/3 the video and I've collected so much useful information. Awesome keep up the good work!
More awesome advice for those of us stepping out into wrapping.
Isn’t it supposed to be stepping “in”? Plz help anyone.Tq.
Best way to do it seeing that they want 2700 to do a full wrapping

Sounds like you didn't post heat enough. Post heating, among other things, essentially melts the adhesive so you don't have that grid pattern

Wrapping emblems is tough for anyone.
thats why I just plasti dipped mine lol

Love The Tips! As a Fellow Shop, Keep up the Great Work!
I'm interested how the new 3M 2080 vinyl compares
He seems to hate 3m.

Ok
there is a video by Yiannimize where they wrap an accoustic body
Awesome video. I use Avery for all my projects and my customers have been very happy with the results and how its holds up.
Only worked with Avery, 3m, and vivid. I found Avery to be easier to work worth since it’s super thin
Good info for us newbie hobbyists 👍
Nice. Great tips and recommendations. Very much appreciated.
Amazing video as always I think Avery Dennison is the best vinyl but also you make this wrapping business look so easy lol
So would Avery Dennison be a good beginner wrap compared to 3M?
Thanks CK,
Im thinking of starting to wrap and watched alot of your vids. and these was one of my questions i still had. :)

Thank you for your knowledge and time.
Which brand of white vinyl would best cover a black car? Would it be the thickest?
Love the videos man, can’t wait to wrap my car when the weather warms up 🤙
Hi Christian, thanks for this info. I'm going to start wrapping soon and trying some stuff out. I want to do motorcycle mainly. I hope seeing this avery is the best to start with🤓

Like the glasses, look fine wearing ‘em👍🏻.
Avery is a pretty good brand for a newbie, w/ minimal “issues”.....
Have a good one Ck✌🏼
Sorry whats the brand of this wrap?
Ive been loving the 3m 2080. Also i feel the same about avery doesn't have the hold that lets you sleep good at night.
Avery was the only one that had the color I wanted, but I need it to be durable, could I put paint protection film over it?
Edit: I already have the vinyl
10:20 he starts the actual wrap process.
you're welcome
Why skip all the useful information though lol
@@Rooster_joe You must talk too much too.
Joe Exotic if you think he is talking too much when he is explaining it in detail is a problem, you’re in the wrong field buddy...
All his info is important but I just wanna see wrap for fun 😊
Thanks
Can you overstretch Avery if you only stretch cool?
Can you wrap truck mud guards? I have a 2000 Tundra that won't hold paint on the guards . Thanks, Greg
Hexis is pretty thick film in the solid colors.
What best vinyl for plastics

Any suggestion on best printable films?
Is Vvivid vinyl wrap able to be "WET" installed, or is it better dry installed.
How much does it cost to do like a caravan 2012 the whole van and how long does it last
My installer thought that sw900 would be a good choice for an off-road application. Smdh didn’t even last 3 years. Pretty sad I could have chosen a thicker vinyl had I been informed.
Hello. Does vivid ship to Europe(Sweden)??
Do you prefer avery or 3m when wrapping a primered car? (I'm inexperienced but set on doing this myself)
Would you restate the brand you use ? Thanks !
Do you have to buy all the things in the description to put the wrap ?

That Avery Diamond just pops. I wrapped a 745 in the Red.
What would you suggest to a newbie in wrapping a motorbike?
Did you ever do it? How did it turn out? I'm gonna wrap mine for the first time soon and I'm nervous lol
How about for motorcycles?
can't do this with chrome wraps without ruining the finish :(
Hey do you use 3M primer on any of your wraps??
Thanks for the info and we wait a video explaining colours and textures like satin white, what are other terms to choose the material texture and the colour. Thanks.

assallammualaikum brother, brothers and sisters I want to ask why in the last stage of wrapping wrinkles occur in the folds, how to fold properly, please tutorial

10.30 is when the wrap starts
Where can I go a learn this and use my GI BILL
Black Pit Viper I thought about doing it for fun and some money on the side I know 3M does actual schools
You can sign up for training at www.vvividshop.com/get-certified
Can you still wrap a car if it has already been scratch lightly?
I'd use a test piece and see how it looks. I've wrapped some scratches and it actually hid them pretty well.
@@FadeToBlackLLC thanks man
