Look at you, building in the toxic valley. :) I have places almost in that exact same spot for two of my characters incorporating the prefab tent and cooking station across the water. I love the natural light glow to help cut down on camp budget lighting. I like the trick for getting stairs into foundations. After 2000 hours it's nice to get better building tricks.
I had thought about building by that tent. There tended to be a lot of enemies spawning there though which I felt would get a bit annoying. It's a nice looking spot for a build that would blend in well though.
sweet build Darth, the skull on the side of the toilet is a subtle warning of where you will spend most of your time if you drink that toxic valley water😆, id also imagine the water as well as looking not very nice would smell just as bad
Nicely done. I really love the fact you built on a hill. Something I try and do at times but I always struggle with the planning. In the end hill builds usually are worth the extra effort.
It's not something I do often but it can be fun to work with the terrain sometimes. I'd have liked something with a nice flat area at the top, but the few I found tended to have some other issues. It worked out well though. 😊
Love the multi-levels in this build. The helvetia set is not my favorite, but you made it work for this build. All the elements around the build look great too. Everything fits together really well. Thanks for sharing. 🍻
DX, great build - a very neat multi-level setup! It was interesting that you had an issue with the wooden fence gate - I haven't been able to place it for a couple of months now without having it pop up! Anyhow, thanks for another good build tuition vid!
Weirdly it was more of a pop down of the fence than the gate going up. I've never had much luck with it though. There's always something that stops it from doing what I want to. Stairs in particular or if I try to snap it to any other fence piece are the worst. On the whole I'm glad this worked out as well as it did.
Very nice house. I was wondering if you could do a video on how to set the player spawn position so it's in front of a build instead of way in the back. I know it can be changed by the CAMP module placement but I haven't been able to figure it out.
Tbh there's not a lot you can do about where you arrive. On rare occasions it can be moved but as a general rule you'll arrive on the north east side of the build area. It seems to be the case that you'll load in facing the same direction you were when the Camp unit was initially placed, so if you want that to be in front of the camp you need to be standing to the northeast and looking southwest when you place the camp unit down and then build facing between north and east.
Well Done, you were talking about how to raise and lower foundations and a video linked, meanwhile my mind was getting blown by placing foundations over stairs. does that work for all stair types or just the wooden ones?
It works with most of them. If there's anything next to where you want to place the stairs that can interfere sometimes, but on the whole it's a useful trick. You can leave the stairs floating without a foundation too if you attach a second foundation, then remove the one the stairs are attached too.
@Darth Xion ah how neat, gonna have to try that on a build or two when I get a chance. On the whole this build looked like fun to do. Look forward to the next
Nicely immersive. Curious whether you keep buying additional camp slots or tear down and rebuild mostly? I've only been playing since January and already have five camps and tear down quite often. Hate how limited the budget can be, but learning how to work with it.
I've got 4 slots and replace whichever is my least favourite at the time. It's every week now though so I've mostly gotten over the demolition blues! 😂

Tbh I think spending a while in there after drinking that would be a lucky outcome. 😂
Looks great.

❤ it! 👏🍻😁
Nice build
Thanks! 😊
