I love Derek's opening with early hints of Pasaquan melody - this is an inspired performance by all - as usual! Brought tears to my eyes with this one. Their 8-20-22 Berkeley Greek show was magical. Best live band on the planet these days
Also I'd like to add a great big thank you for carrying on this hugh legacy you were born into. It's wonderful how your life has turned out and Susan as your wife. Such a talent you both are, it's like your guitars sing to one another, keep on rockin you beautiful souls.
One of many many great aspects of this band is that they never repeat a song in the same way… I think this is the only band I can listen to continuously and never tire of it.
I used to watch Derrick play slide guitar at a bar in Hollywood Florida when he was around 10 years old . The bar was called "Club M". He was very shy and I talked to his mother for quite some time. As an adult had to accommodate him. YOU REMEMBER DERRICK.
I remember that place, wasn’t that around Young Circle? I seen him a few years later around 16 years old, in disbelief what I witness I had to shake his hand, was very humble and a sweet kid easy to talk to
I have to say that I can certainly hear Duane Allman in Derek's slide guitar playing. Derek is the closest I have heard to matching Duane and his style of slide guitar. You can hear so much of the sound coming from Derek. Don't think we will hear anyone else do what Derek does and channels Duane up in heaven You know hes gotta be looking down and thinking yes this man can really lay it down.So heres to Derek his wife'susan for and their world class act and keeping it tight and Thank-you so much for sharing your talent and everyone who really loves listening to them. They are so nice of people who takes care of theirband.
I ran a cross Derrick and Susan early in the morning. I do art work and I listen to the Blue's. I found Midnight In Harlem and I cried listening to Susan. Derrick's lead up to this song is just beautiful. I listen to them often and went to see them in concert in Omaha Nebraska. Without a doubt they are awesome. The whole band is amazing.
I commented earlier how I was looking forward to seeing them in Saratoga. Well the concert was last month and it was one of the BEST concerts I’ve ever seen - and I’ve seen a lot of good ones. His guitar, her voice - sheer magic. I knew I was seeing something VERY special that night and how fortunate I was to be a part of it. How lucky we are they’re a team! 🥰
Derrick was great as a VERY young child and he’s STILL GREAT NOW! He’s one of the only people/musicians that I can honestly believe the saying ‘you get better with age’ doesn’t apply! Although I’m 67 years old now and was trained as a classical pianist and organist since I was 5, I appreciate REAL talent in any form of music - Trucks is a perfect example, as are many others (Clapton, Elton John, BB King, etc.)
@@lovely_time1771 Hi there, YES, This is a great band - not only Trucks but Susan and the others! I’m not a guitarist, but I do appreciate the talent they have, and wish I had discovered them before recently! I came across this video while watching another one by Eric Clapton (from Live at the Filmore - ? sp. - in NY, who’s THE all-time best of them imo! In addition, I’ve been listening to some other very good ones, like Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, John Mayer, Warren Haynes, plus some lesser known ones for a long time, and now more of Trucks’s videos. Too bad they aren’t going to be in concert near me - right after seeing this video I went to search for one, but no such luck. However, I was able to get floor seat tic’s to Clapton this September in NYC! I haven’t given up hope though about seeing Trucks live!
They better play this in Glagow later this year, as last time we saw them at the London palladium on the Saturday night they never played it, my nephew was a bit upset, it in my mind should always be on the play list.
Soon I will see them live again. The first time was at Notodden blues festival in Norway 2013. Then in Berlin 2014 and then in Stockholm before the pandemic at a stage named circus. And now next month I will experience them again in Stockholm, at Anexet. I just LOVE this band ande there music-. The concert in Stockholm at Circus was the best live concert I have experience. It stayed in my senses for long time...
Extreme good solo by Derek, woh 🧡 So nice all this versions live. Never boring. I am looking out for the band 30 october in Rotterdam in the Netherlands
I recall them telling me about when they went to Australia and how much they loved spending time when they were there. Hopefully next time they'll make the big hop over to y'all!
I'm going to see them at the London palladium in November as a treat for my 65th birthday a good age but I'm still young in my head, then Glasgow with my nephew who was with me last time at the London palladium and midnight in Harlem wasn't on the playlist, I sincerely hope it is for Glasgow for my nephew, it's simply a must any night the band play in my humble opinion. ♥🏴 🏴 🏴
I hope your being sarcastic SS. If not the first 4:27 are actually guitar/sax interplay and not tuning up. I will give you they it's spacy and jazzy but If you go back and re-listen you'll catch on.
It would be nice if the people in the audience would just listen instead all the yelling and whooping . . . that's for the end of the song when you want to let the musicians know that you appreciated the performance that you respectfully witnessed.
That is great, but boy I wish that whoever was filming it understood that you have to keep the camera steady. Ya wanna dance, dance, you want to film film Can't do both So annoying
My dad 87 years young, introduced me to Tedeschi Trucks Band. Fantastic band -
66 year old boy from Germany(dortmund) has been grown up with allman brothers and is now here with tedeschi trucks!!!
They transcend age and any other barriers
May your father live many years to come and "old" does not mean "decrepit". It makes no sense to use "young" instead, unless he's Benjamin Button.
Atta boy dad..I'm just getting my ears warmed up as well.i was familiar w trucks n lil Susan..this band is hot jack
Forever young! I saw Sir Tom Jones and band in concert last week at the end of his 40+ gig tour of USA and UK. Not bad for 83 !

Absolutely!
It will be my 4th and 5th time seeing them this year, simply the best live act on the road.
I am so in love with what that man does with that guitar !!!!!!!!!
One of many many great aspects of this band is that they never repeat a song in the same way… I think this is the only band I can listen to continuously and never tire of it.
When I 1st listen 12 PC band It was like awakening I watched on David Letterman
Ladies and gentlemen you have just watched the best band in the world bar none utter brilliance

My fav song of the bands, played on my birthday thank you. ♥

Lov’em ! 😍
This song makes me cry. Am I crazy that some music does this to me?
The way this guy tells a story on guitar is something else.
Similar in his own way to Santana
i know only of 2 other players that can move my soul in such a profound and beautiful way, you derek, clapton and the late mister beck rip..
An extremely nice rendition of one of my fave TT tunes. Thanks Lamby.
Thank you for sharing, I have tickets for Manchester and Paris later this year after waiting what feels like a decade to see this band. I cannot wait!
Thank you for sharing this, what an Outstanding performance. That intro was gorgeous. Amazing talent
This terrific song was written by TTB member Mike Mattison.
he's super talented and a really nice guy too as well as graduate of Harvard music program.
@@brandonarrieta4208 Derek just mentioned very recently that Mike was an English major at Harvard. Really shows some incredible skills in this song...
Every time I see them, this is a high light every night. The band is firing on all cylinders
Incredible is right! Trucks is only getting better. This one has my vote
Thank you for sharing this performance. It's my favorite of theirs and I like seeing different takes on it.
Seeing them for the first time in Saratoga, NY next month - can’t wait!

For how long now?
July 23 next Saturday night in Charlotte NC ! God is gonna touch my soul !
A Great band
Love the Trucks ♥️
The longer that intro the better. What a great tune.
Such an amzing come back after, Butch and Gregg.
D. T. Is simply incredible 👏
Soo beautiful.
Beautiful!!!!!
Wish I'd been there. Love this band.
It was so awesome. First time front row. It's like your own private show. Priceless.
200 views, WTF?! This is fabulous, thank you.
10:50 for the first time I heard he play that note in this song. But he still one of the best slide guitarist💙
wow,cant even express💜💜💯
Susan was FEELING IT this night down in Savannah. Incredible.
See Ya'll in the cradle of the Red Rocks this summer - Your music family is nothing but the very best.
They better play this in Glagow later this year, as last time we saw them at the London palladium on the Saturday night they never played it, my nephew was a bit upset, it in my mind should always be on the play list.

Susan's vocals are simply the best.
There is nobody like Derek, not even close, nowhere near close. He is very special
Who would you compare him with? Even Duane didn't have the time to master the slide so tastefully
Derek is so studious when he plays a solo -- somber and intense.
Just awesome! Getting a lil sea sick, though
Just Lov’em ❤️
Geez, hold the camera still ! Getting sea sick.

Yeah. It was kinda displaced celebratory timing but still a damn good time!
Yeah, there's Joni Mitchell and Counting Crows live albums spoiled by people screaming annoyingly
That is great, but boy I wish that whoever was filming it understood that you have to keep the camera steady.
