***** I saw that video and I flipped a freaking shit. Hugo's EX Lariat absorbed Ryu's Ultra 1. Holy fuck. I also tested it on Chun Li's Ultra 2 and it can absorb only 8 out of the 20 provided that he can reach Chun Li and knock her down. If not, he gets wiped
***** The way it works is that it's armored until he reaches the opponent. In other words, it won't work once he's close enough to the opponent.
I love how Phil has no idea his opponents hit him low to break his guard before hitting high, he just thinks guard makes you invincible.
Also Phil, it doesn't matter if you press the buttons AFTER the throw, you have to do it WHEN you get thrown.
He also doesn't seem to understand focus attacks or fadcing. It's a big part of SFIV
Alan D. I get you, it's hard especially if you are a pad player. I personally, just can't afford a fighting stick. But what I did was simply practice ryu's dp fadc ultra 1, on both sides of the screen every day, and once I got it I practiced more difficult combos. It's possible, I'm a 09'er and I learned it, I now can apply fadc combos consistently online something I never thought possible for me. Another tip, after learning to fadc, trying to complete as much trials as possible improved my execution insanely. The key i that when you are trying a very difficult trial, you find yourself practicing other combos and inputs in the process so you practice them so much that you master them. Good luck and don't give up.

I'm going to say right now, I am a little irritated that part of the clip was cut out at 7:30 where DSP acknowledges Engravings is good. It was clearly cut out to keep DSP from looking good in any way and it just raises questions like what other types of footage has been cut in these types of videos.
I'm certainly no fan of DSP, but next time I suggest just not including footage like that in the first place.

I don't like it when Phil returns to things he's known to suck at because he basically sits down and says "I don't want to do this.
