This was originally going to be a one hour sort of expansion to my original TIHYDP USF4. The plan was to add one deleted scene from the original as well as content that I missed when creating the first one. When I came to the video was over 3 hours long so that was when I realized that I was working on a full fledged sequel instead of an expansion. He doesn't know match-ups, drops everything, complains on lag along with insulting all of his opponents, doesn't know how to fight the characters as the characters and he calls himself a former pro fighting game-player!??
The guy that lost to pretty much every single Sagat he ever faced online is apparently a " former pro fighting game player ". He doesn't know anything about this game. I've watched him play with a variety of characters and I've also seen his sloppy inputs. Bottom line is he sucks big time when it comes to this game. He has no patience or mind games he just does the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

I could have sworn he was talking about Blanka at the time because a couple of matches before that one he had made a comment about Blanka's color scheme. Looking at it again and yeah he was most probably talking about Adon.

Phil has always had a very selfish attitude not only towards his viewers but towards his opponents as well. His brain simply can't handle that he's about to lose in a video game to a superior player so he lashes out. Thank you and these take a while to make but at the end of the day they're worth it.

Maybe it's just me, but whenever Phil compliments the opponent, it sounds REALLY forced. Like, he's only saying it to make himself seem like a humble guy. When we all know that isn't true, from the hundreds upon hundreds of matches when he insults people and blames everything on lag/not knowing the match-up, etc.
I agree with you. Sometimes Phil will mix insults with praise which pretty much negates the praising. The only time it seemed legit was when his Balrog got destroyed by a Rolento player. There it seemed kind of genuine but I could tell he was furious. In his mind he was like " how the fuck did this scrub get a perfect on me? He sucks balls and I'm a former pro fighting game player! Scrub got lucky that there was lag ack ack ack ack ack ack".
He never says, "man, these players are good. I need to go back to the lab and retool. They got me now, but I'll be back." At least I could respect that. Admitting you are not that good, but proclaiming you will practice and come back. That is what a real man would do.
I agree completely. He should give credit where credit is due. Sometimes he does compliment his opponents but usually there's some kind of backhanded comment that accompanies that and it's just kinda defeats the purpose of giving the winner some props.

Not his inability to punish the oponent on block except with a single jab or forward. If you can't combo just throw them or even FA if you have enough time to charge it.
Not him picking Dan so he can blame his loss on the character (and probably toot his own horn if he can actually win with Dan).
Not him blaming the match up every single time.
Not him spamming the same move, whiffing every time and continuing to spam it anyway.
Not him selecting Evil Ryu's Ultra 2 after saying he doesn't know what the input is... Twice.

People love taunting Phil because it's common knowledge that he has very thin skin and taunts piss him off to the point where he plays sloppier than he already does. One would think that a "former pro fighting game player" and TH-cam personality would be able to handle hecklers.
Yeah it's so easy to piss him off in this game. Taunts are a good tool for pissing your opponent off and getting them to be more aggressive and hopefully make mistakes etc. In Phil's case though he takes it personal and makes that salt even sweeter or saltier in this case. I've seen him get pissed over single taunts that were purely accidental.

I actually got into fighting games years ago because of dsp. The second I played my first few matches I realized how much bullshit he was talking. While I'm not that good I at least try to learn from my mistakes and get better every match.

I'm not a SF player, but I've played a lot of fighting games, and DSP has some of the worst option selects I've ever seen. He chooses options that or either unsafe, or have no payoff, he just doesn't seem to know anything he is doing in general. In addition he doesn't seem to use grabs/throws at all. So he is playing rock, paper, scissors, but only uses 2/3 of the options, how can he claim to be a former FGC pro!?
That's a pretty good question. I asked myself the same thing many times while I was working on these two TIHYDPs. Phil probably has no idea what an option select is. I've seen him throw red fireballs with Akuma at opponents that are getting up instead of going for some kind of mixup. He just spams the same crap over and over again expecting people to fall for it. Unfortunately if you want to get some wins you need to be a little bit more creative but this is Phil we're talking about here so I'm probably asking for too much there.
What's "option select" ? The only game I play is Guilty Gear and their description of it is confusing...
MLPAiden I'm by no means an expert but I think it's something with putting most of the input in but not going all the way through until you see an opening? It's something to that effect..lol.
I don't think that's fully correct though. I would also be interested in someone explaining what it means exactly. It may be slightly different from game to game also.

Basically one input that covers multiple options. Sometimes if you do certain inputs in situations you can get multiple responses to different options your opponent will do. Look up Momochi's Block+Throw Tech video on youtube and you'll see one of the best examples.
I love how he compliments players' skills when he's winning, but the moment he starts losing it's all about lag, dropping inputs and the other player being a scrub. It's very confusing.

I just found out about DSP because SF6 is the first fighting game I've given any actual time to. It's amazing that regardless of the game or time his excuses are the same.

Sometimes I'm not sure which one is DSP. Then I just watch which character gets hit before the complaining starts.
Yeah that's the easiest way to find out which one is Phil. In the first one I put in the matches were Phil was using a specific character in a row. For the sequel I wanted it to be a little bit more random to keep it a little bit more interesting. I used for example Phil getting destroyed by a Zangief followed by his Zangief getting destroyed by El Fuerte. So it's a sort of good idea/bad idea in a way.
In some of these matches Phil actually blames himself and compliments his opponent. in those matches, he actually seems like a nice guy. It really goes to show that if your a good sport even when you lose, you tend to be more likable
DSP is much worse than LTG, and LTG is a egomaniac, and here I thought LTG was down right terrible.

Thank you and putting one of these together is certainly a very boring task. Sifting through hours and hours of boring gameplay with shitty commentary just so you can get that sweet sweet salt is I would say totally worth it. It's worth it because when it's done I get to read wonderful comments like yours.

That dragon punch of his never comes out for some reason. I don't use shotos but I can get DPs to come out 10 times out of 10. Phil has the sloppiest inputs I have ever seen.

Yeah and he could have actually won if he would have played it a little bit more patiently. At 21:37 he should have gone for a combo that ended with scissor kicks so he could push Phil into the corner and go from there. Then there would have been one more round to go but I'm pretty sure this guy could have taken Phil if he played just a little bit more patiently.

Phil is content to wait out the clock by holding back and being patient, then the other guy turns on his mic, obviously just to rile Phil up, and get him to make a mistake, and it works INSTANTLY! As soon as the guy says one sentence, Phil's strategy of waiting him out is out the window and he almost loses because of it.

I feel like the worst part of DSP is that he tries to be self aware. If you go to his teespring and look at what's there, the first thing you'll see is a grey hat that says "WOW DUDE." Go down a bit, and you'll see DSP's face if he was a South Park character and the same thing. Next one is a shirt with his logo on it, then a shirt that says "I'M PRESSING BUTTONS," with the inputs forward, down-forward, punch, kick, down-back, kick, back, punch.
Yeah sometimes he does try to be self aware but it's on such rare occasions that it's almost not worth mentioning. My favorite part is just watching him stumble over his own lies over and over again. He's said so much bullshit over the years that he's lost track of it all. Like when he said "oh this is such a big house for two people " then he realizes that he fucked up so he follows that up with " well no not really it's small house ". That's where editing comes in handy...

If you're imprecise, and input it too quickly, you'll get the uppercut shortcut (df > db > df or vice versa) instead. It's annoying, but only really happens if you're mashing it out.
Phil's inputs are very sloppy so that's exactly what's happening right there. I think that Phil forgot that the game has a training mode which can be used to practice before going online to play against other people.
