Because Phil's "strategy" is finding a single combo he can do repeatedly and doing it constantly. He makes everything completely boring
Yeah, it was fun when it lasted. I would have given him props if he stuck to VF. No fighting game apart from SF has see a LP of over month on his channel.

No, nothing else. Seems to forget he gets bodied by literally everyone and couldn't even make it out of silver in SF5 so whatever possessed him to think he'd do alright in VF i have no idea.

Even i have more fighting game varied experience than him. As i've played a lot of DBFZ some Guilty Gear Xrd, decent amount of Strive, some SF5 just to see why people respect the series so much. And a decent amount of Soul Caliber 6 which i suck at.

I was the Pai player who faced him in those matches. I'm not uber good tbh and the more I learned and revisit these matches, I see things I could've done better. With that said, I don't know why Phil diving head first in a series he's never played pick up characters with difficult learning curves in Shun and Jeffry instead of beginner characters. Furthermore, he lacked a lot of defense, never played patient, kept mashing, and wondered why he was getting hit. Plus, his excuses are laughable and then has the audacity to act like he magically knows a series he's played for only less than 10 hours.

I wasn't looking at the PSN names a whole lot during the edit, but that move you do at the end of the rounds (Guard+Kick+Punch), I had an idea it was yourself within your gameplay. Can I say this, what was it like playing against Phil, did you get inside his head? Did you sense fear in his gameplay, was it all a little bit too easy? Also, that tea bag you did in your 2nd face off, did you have a cheeky smile on your face after the set and did you sleep comfortably throughout the night knowing you beat him with confident? lol. @@SecretLimited Playing against him was fine. There wasn't any issues with our connections and the lot. I probably got into his head a little bit but who knows. Phil was probably on autopilot. I think the first set was pretty easy though I can tell he made improvements during the second and third sets. He did pick up on my habits (i.e. reading my fall recovery and throwing me). The teabag was just me taking my frustrations on him because I got teabagged a couple matches prior to that so I was not in a fine mood. I do look back at these matches to see what I could've done better all the time knowing I can use Pai a tad bit more better.
Watching this video you would think he doesn't know the first thing about fighting games, everything he says is wrong 🤣 Like when he was acting like he couldn't believe you get a big combo off a counter hit. As a Tekken player it was very annoying when he started saying what he would do in Tekken, because it was all nonsense.
Nice blocking, all it took to beat him was someone who could block low.
@@bobhoskins-kl6ue He pretty much lived and died on back, down PK. And counter hits in this game are just as bad as Tekken. Heaven forbid an Akira catches you slipping and takes away half your health or worse.

It annoys me that he doesn’t drink with the Drunken Master character. I know very little about this game, but this feels like something he should be doing. The game even says that the more he drinks the more powerful he becomes.
I know, oh well :) Back to SF it is.
The Funny part is against the Jean fighter he proceeded to say that he wasn't doing anything impressive and was spamming the same move, then 2 MATCHES later he begins to do just that the self-awareness with this guy is like non-existent.

8:56 no in tekken, just like in pretty much every fighting game ever, you block and punish, and if you're not sure how - on block your opponent is punish with your fastest move. How does he not know how fighting games work? "every button I push I'm slower than him" block and punish you moron. "He gets this one counter hit and then a big combo after, I don't know what to do..." He acts like he has never played a fighting game. How does he not know counter hits unusually lead to some of the best combos in every fighting game ever?
His complaint was basically "I keep losing the neutral and get rightfully punished for it."
Does anyone think Phil has a list of excuses on hand when he plays? Dude has a never ending supply of excuses. This is what happens when people stay indoors WAYYYY TOOOO MUCH!
It's always the same few excuses: "I was BLAHKING!" "LAG!" "There was nothing I could do!" "Dropped inputs!" "Rollback!" That's literally it, just those but sometimes he phrases it differently

Complaining about the lack of counters/parrys and using Tekken as an example LMAO. Almost nobody on Tekken has an dedicated parry. You deal with moves using the universal mechanics... Was a "pro player" of fighting games and complain about the most basic shit, DPS never fails to impress.

Used to play Virtua Fighter 2 on Sega Saturn. Good times. Not hard to learn, but with many games can take years to master. I love TIHYDP videos when the uploader has an extensive knowledge on the product such as you or Joster. Really gives the video more weight.

I really enjoyed this. The editing was informative (tiers of the fighters etc) and you didn't put any extra effort into shitting on Dale. He does that enough, so I like how you let that part speak for itself.

Another certified banger just like your Tekken 7 TIHYDP, keep up the great work dude. Some of my favorite details are when you go into detail of how certain mechanics of the combat and characters work and how DSP just seems to completely ignore them, really sheds light on how much learning and practice he needs to do.

I just made to the 50:00 mark to witness this smug bastard winning by spamming the same move. Notice how all inputs are working and there are no complaints about about lag. Can't wait to see who will counter his spamming and how his mood will change when he won't be able to adapt and complaints start 😊

Your editing is top notch, man. Props for this video. Phil just never changes, which sucks, after everything he has been through. Funny thing is I used to like Phil a lot when he first started and had his stuff with Howard and John Rambo, talking about arcade sticks, and even his trip to Washington with Leanna (PandaLee) and he had some pretty good content at times, in my view. But he has always been too consumed by money to really get ahead and burned many of his friendships and associations. It just sucks seeing that he is still in this rut and I wish he would have learned and tried to do better. I don't know. He always had potential as a decent guy, but I think his infamous "fame" really got to him after a long while.

So he chose one of the worst characters to start the game with, cause he doesn't bother to take the time to look up a character video on youtube. Worse jeffrey was described as being offensive and not having defensive options.... DSP loves 'reactionary gameplay' lack of defense, fast punishing moves and counters is his bane. Atleast I think that's what he wants.
Also super loud buttons, he can't say he wasn't doing anything when he gets countered.

-Characters have high reward, low risk moves
-His characters don't
-Everyone just does "hail mary" moves except him
-People just play a "pattern" to get wins when he's the one just going in a pattern with the same moves
-He mashes hoping his moves beat something else (lol what are frames?)
-people need to "earn" hits and damage and be "impressive" to him (screen still says You Lose Phil)
-He learns like three moves for one character in every fighter he plays and complains when he's using maybe 10% of his kit at best.
It's insane for a guy that played fighting games he really just doesn't understand basics about them.

I like how he makes the observation that the faster characters are better.
As if that isn't every fighting game.
Now I am no expert on most of them as I don't play a lot of traditional fighting games so there probably are exceptions.
But using my knowledge of Smash Bros in that game the slower heavier characters like Ganondorf and Bowser are generally low tier possible mid tier.
All the top tier characters have good combos and fast movement or good movement options.
The only exception to a slow strong character being good is Ours and that's just cause she can switch to Mythra on the fly for fast movement.

“Nothing I could do” is the most defeatist/narcissistic thing you can say. No wonder piggy never gets better, because he already thinks he’s an expert at whatever he does.
Inputs for the combo literally on the screen.
“I don’t know what they want me to do”
Whenever he gets hit by something literally all he has to do is block it or side step it. If he’s attacking then people will interrupt or counter hit him all day, esp faster characters or characters with better range. Like Lei Fei doing his arrow punch charge attack from across the screen. If you block that it’ll stagger you but nothing is guaranteed afterwards if you struggle fast enough out of it. So ur best option is to sidestep the move at the last second and punish lei fei then.
Also some moves that hit him even though he’s blocking is because they are unblockable moves. It’ll break through your guard. Usually you can duck those though or sidestep it.
Seeing DSP getting bodied by players from any online session is better than sex itself.
