Linda's voice is phenomenal, she could go form a soft delivery to belting out with such power it could take your breath. Happy to see you're delving into Ronstadt. She melted many a man's heart.
I am the same age as Linda and followed her whole career. I was in college,, military and graduate school during the years she was performing on TV variety shows weekly. I was able to see her in concert in the middle 70's and this song was so moving and beautiful. The memory of it has stuck with me all these years. She was a phenomenal performer whose voice could leave you speechless!
You have not yet heard anything but the tip of her talent. She sings pop, rock, blues, country, jazz ballads, Mexican mariachi and opera, and she did it all brilliantly. 😊
This is one of my favorite Linda Ronstadt songs. She truly has such an incredible voice and she sings these heartbreaking lyrics with so much emotion. Makes me feel very nostalgic.🦋Check out her singing "Desperado" with the Eagles and "Different Drum" as well. Thanks so much guys for posting and reacting to this lovely song and artist!🧡
This is my favorite song by Linda Ronstadt, there's so much emotion in her voice, to love someone from a far and they don't even know you're there, the pain in her voice is enough to bring a person to tears. The studio version is even better and has one more whole verse. I saw her open for Neil Young in Tampa, 1973, right before she hit it Big. We were a bunch of rowdy acid freaks, we want Neil, come on, get this country chick outta here, we want some electric Cowgirl in the Sand..then she did this as her last song..accapella..you could have heard a pin drop, we all just sat there with our mouths open, amazed at that Voice.. she showed us kids something, all right. And then she sang backup with Neil...
The MISSING verse is the best one in the song. Cut for time on a tv broadcast?! Find the FULL version. Who knows the cost of living in the memory of a love that never was.
Great reaction! One of the greatest singers there ever was. Her catalog and hits are forever long! She was the first female artist to fill stadiums. 'Long Time' and' "Desperado' (written the Eagles). Her backing band became The Eagles. 38 Top-100 singles, 38!! Dig in!

I've been enjoying your reaction videos for a while now. As an old geezer that grew up to this music, and attended countless rock concerts, it's fun to watch you two guys really enjoy the songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I also appreciate the fact that your attention is strictly on the music, and don't pause to blab about irrelevant things. Songs are made to be heard in their entirety, it is not necessary to stop in order to show reaction, so thanks. A couple of suggestions: for a great rocker, check out the song 'Sarah Lee' by the band Foghat, and the late female singer Sandy Denny, who was with the British band Fairport Convention and also sang with Led Zeppelin on the song 'Battle of Evermore'.
Great choice! She’s one of a kind, beautiful and extremely talented. Glad to see you reacting to a female artist. I hope you do more. A perfect follow up to this would be Mariah Carey and her song, Hero. Live performance. And you would also love her song called, We Belong Together. You also haven’t reacted to any songs by Kelly Clarkson or Bonnie Raitt. You’re missing out, guys!
Linda is different. If you name a music genre, she probably has at least one Grammy in it. She was named "Female Artist of the Decade' by the 'TicketMaster" of the time. In 1977 she earned $44M. Just her. In one year. She made the Music Industry over a quarter billion that year. She used that money as 'Fuck You' cash and started doing whatever she wanted to do despite what the Industry wanted her to do. Her fans loved her for it and she mastered everything she tried doing. It's so sad that her voice was taken from her.

She has had so many hits such as "Blue Bayou", "Don't Know Much", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs.
