This is the first time I have heard you analyze a song. In my opinion, you did the best job on this song of the many other persons who I have heard. Great work. I will hang with you again for sure. Thanks.
Willie Nelson said it best I think. He said, "There are two types of men in the world, those who love Linda Ronstadt and those who have never heard of her." I could not agree with Willie more!
Oh no, this song was IT for me, even though I was only in the 10th grade. I still think it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I love her voice.
One of the greatest female singers of the 20th century. She could sing any genre, from country, pop, American Standards, Mexican cultural standards, light opera. She did it all. She also was great friends with members of Eagles and helped them get exposure at the beginning of their career. A wonderful singer, a wonderful person and friend. Tragic that she can no longer sing because of Parkinson’s Disease 😞
One of the greatest and most versatile voices ever. Such a shame her disease has robbed her of her singing voice but so many great perfomances and moments left for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing.
Welcome to the magic of Linda Rondtadt - a voice that can't be matched. She could sing any genre and was "the voice" of the 1970's. Such a beautiful voice.
Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock & even opera. She has had so many hits such as "Different Drum", "Blue Bayou", "You're No Good", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Tracks Of My Tears", "When Will I Be Loved" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs. Linda also collaborated with Dolly Parton & Emmylou Harris on a few "Trio" albums.

So glad you stopped in on Linda the Legend! She is one of the greatest voices of all time. She was a master of country rock, pop, rock, Spanish, and opera. She was the most popular singer of her era. She is now unable to sing because of health issues. But she is still an amazing person through all of that. She remains part of the best concert I ever attended. She opened and Jackson Browne finished as they took turns on that tour opening for each other. Thanks for the reaction!

Linda could sing anything and DID. She sang rock, country, folk, country/rock, Opera, Mexican folk music, Cuban music, and New Wave in the 80's, and reinvented herself in the 90's doing albums of the American Songbook. Her strength and control were unmatched. She sounded as good or better live than in the studio. It is a crime that she has a terrible illness that has taken her voice, and now, her ability to speak.
Linda is in my top 5 female artists of all time, I’ve seen her live 3 times, even though she doesn’t write her own music she can sing anything and her vocals are stellar
From the Pirates of Penzance, to Desperado, to a full album of Mexican or Tejano music, Linda was and is one of the most versatile singers ever to hit the big time. And while it it the least significant of her attributes, she ia also cute as a button. I'm glad to see you take this musical carnival ride.
You've just heard one of the greatest female voices of all time. Her vocals perfectly capture the emotions of unrequited love in these most heart wrenching and emotional lyrics. If you watched the series "The Last of Us" the scene with this song was so poignant. She has a depth of different musical styles which I hope you'll explore. You won't be disappointed. Her cover of “Desperado” and "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me" are two wonderful songs that showcase her beautiful voice and are accompanied by great music.
Linda's songs are beautiful. She was associated with the Eagles for A LONG, LONG TIME. They began breaking up or changing their material and Linda had health problems, but her music and singing was always something I cherished over the years. I don't comment a lot, but still watch your evolution of discovery whenever I see you on the screen. The title does not get to me as I abandoned the US fearing that Dump might steal power in some way. Now I spend time in my son's home in Bangkok. Take care and enjoy your journey.
Linda is the ultimate crossover artist, she could take you places with a song like no other artist, one of the greatest voices of generations. Amazing Talent!!!

Beautiful song, beautiful singer. I love Linda, arguably the greatest female vocalist all time. Try her “Blue Bayou” live. And her “You’re no good” live on the Midnight Special…..both phenomenal

Linda Ronstadt!! Making my day already!! Her voice was stunning!! She did a couple of genres; she was that good. Tx Saeed for you being you. Greetings from South Africa
There are many live videos of her singing. "Blue Bayou" , "you're No Good", "La Charreada",(latin) and probably more, and hearing her live, is like hearing her studio work
Great reaction. This is a beautiful song and so sad, but all she sings is true when you love someone and they don’t see you 😩 She has such a powerful sweet voice. ❤✌

Linda is probably the best female vocalist per none! Beautiful lyrics. She picked songs to record and made them her own. You dont find many people doing covers of her songs because it's just impossible!! She put some incredible artists around herself and made them all look better. She is so beautiful to, I think my whole generation of young men where in love with her. ❤
Hi Saeed! A song of unrequited love... truly very painful, well covered by Linda Ronstadt. She has a disease which has robbed her of her singing voice, among other things. So sad, such a loss. If you want to hear her rocking it, try her cover of Tumblin' Dice!
Her voice wasn’t just powerful, she had color and warmth. Her vocal stylings always was honest with the emotion of the lyrics,so many singers just show off , Linda never let the song come second to her ego . There are videos of her harmonizing with other artists and she blends beautifully, but she can knock us out whenever she wanted to.
One of my favorite Linda Rondstadt works is the album she did with Dolly Parton and Emmy Lou Harris. The album, "Trio", was all old country and gospel songs. Not what I would normally listen to, but it is really good. Their 3 voices together are something else.
Thanks for listening to this and reminding me how amazing she was. I think growing up in the late sixties and seventies we just had so much incredible music that we sometimes didn’t fully appreciate how lucky we were. Watching you and some other reactors hearing what was the soundtrack of our lives for the first time is fun and entertaining:)
Such a beautiful voice and song. We've all been there in unrequited love and boy does it hurt. That person never leaves you. Mine was over 30yrs ago and it still hurts on occasions.
Mike Nesmith from the Monkees penned her famous song with the stone poneys. “Different Drum” You can also find him performing it on TH-cam which is especially special. ❤ I’m not certain there is a more beautiful voice anywhere, ever. Right up there with Freddie honestly (and Rik Emmett 😊)
The most beautiful voice on the planet. Great choice. Please check out some of her live performances. They are legendary. I recommend “Desperado” or “Down So Low”. Keep them coming. Her catalogue is huge and diverse. 🌸💐✌️
She is amazing. Her ability to infuse her singing with emotion was unparalleled. But man, those earrings? They used to get caught on everything you walked past!😂
Because you loved this. Saeed, and the emotion expressed so beautifully, I would strongly urge you to check out Bonnie Raitt singing I Can’t Make You Love Me. To me, these two songs are the most powerfully mature “break-up” songs ever written.
I sometimes wonder why I couldn't study in college. Staying steeped in songs like this contributed to that. I did learn I have OCD, and now maybe ADHD, but my ambition to join the musicians whose music drove me since childhood. Reactions are wonderful to me. ❤
i agree, Linda is in a class all her own for sure. I recommend you watch the live version of her song "Down so low". What a powerful performance, she is really putting her emotions out there for all to see. My all time favorite. Pray for her; she is going through some terrible health issues. A real shame this has happened to her. Enjoy your reactions; feels very sincere.
Linda covered two Neil Young tunes, both worth a listen. The first is Love is a Rose with Linda solo, and the second is After the Goldrush, recorded with the trio, featuring Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
Oh! such a beautiful instrument he has into her throat. It's easy to capture emotions through her voice. Best to you and your viewers. Have a fab weekend my friend 👋
Oh please do her live version of Desperado done at her Atlanta concert and also a another live song from Germany , Down So Low very powerful voice on both. Also she does Mexican songs that are amazing, she’s the absolute best female singer in my opinion.
I absolutely love her, and this is my favorite song by her. Such a beautiful talent. Parkinson Disease took her voice. There was a movie a few years ago about her life directed by her that is brilliant. She has live versions of this song from the early 70's that are hauntingly beautiful to see her perform it live.
When you get a chance, please watch Linda Ronstadt sing Long Long Time on the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour in 1970. Wonderful performance. So young and such an amazing voice! Everyone had a crush on her. Also, "Different Drum" and "Blue Bayou" will definitely impress!
Glad you went with the audio file. There are some live versions from old TV appearances, but they usually omit the third verse, which I think has the saddest lyric in the song.
I LOVE that you're exploring the ladies of the 70s! Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Melanie and now Linda Ronstadt! Have you reacted to Carole King yet? I don't recall seeing one. She completes the list 🙂Linda Ronstadt has an amazing voice! I hadn't heard this one for quite a while. I'd forgotten how much I loved this song. Thank-you! Don't miss out on her cover of "Blue Bayou" by Roy Orbison.
She had such an angelic but powerful voice. As dagmar and others have said, she can sing any genre, including spanish, country, soft rock, pop and opera. The Eagles started out as her back-up band before they went out on their own. She was originally with a band called Stoned Poneys " A Different Drum" was one of her first hits, and the rest is history. So, so many great songs, and great duets, too. Thank you, Saeed for your reaction to her. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂.
In 1967 Linda was with a group called Stone Pony, they had a hit. Different Drum was Linda's first hit. She would become the Beyonce, Tylor Swift of a generation.
If you were to do a search on TH-cam of "Linda Ronstadt cover" once you scroll through the listing of Linda's performing in the clips, all her hits were covers of other songwriters, you'll come to the clips of others that Linda has influenced to try and emulate her. As the late Glen Frey of the Eagles said when he hosted Linda's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, "she inspired every girl who sang into a hairbrush." only it isn't just girls, there's some guys too covering her. That just might be her legacy, inspiring others.
She has sung everything from light opera to mariachi music. Rock, country, a bit of everything. A brilliant voice.

i saw her live 2 times in the early 2000's she sang solo with out music her last song during the concert her voice just left me with goose bumps
@angieday5183 She and Karen are my special angels singing to us. Adore both do very much!!!
Probably true which is saying something considering the 70s also had Stevie Nicks, Karen Carpenter, Ann Wilson
Along with the other angel, Karen Carpenter, you had a dual queen monarchy!
Strings make this song along with Linda's magical vocals
Drop-dead gorgeous and supremely talented, she still infused this song about rejection with total feeling and credibility. Sublime.
The greatest most versatile female vocalist of her generation.

she was barely 23 when she recorded this. The story goes that this song was the second take, and then she went into the control booth to take a nap.
1970s magic, music's greatest decade.. when songs like this came at us in waves. ❤❤❤❤
The violin and harpsichord really add to the melancholy of this song, but Linda's voice is what gives it the biggest emotional impact.

Oooo, don’t forget Bonnie Raitt and Karla Bonhoff. All wonderful singers.
@@helenespaulding7562 The Carpenters had a pretty good female lead singer, too.
@@folkmusic99 indeed. And Judy Collins. So many
Don’t know Melanie
Have not reacted to Carole King yet. Definitely want to check out her music at some point.
Looking forward to more! Thanks for watching. Much love to you and your family ❤️🫂
This one is perfect for you… nice meaning… great writing… killer delivery. I’ve always loved this song
Exactly ! Incredible song. Thanks for watching.
