    Hey viewers! It's been awhile, but I'm back from moving, so now it's time to produce some content again! And what better way than with fixing a problem in a car!!
    So... one day, you start your car, and then... no sound. From NOTHING: No radio, no navigation, no Bluetooth, no AUX, not even the backup beeper alarm when an object gets close to you sounds!!!! Have no fear, for this video will help you solve that problem!!
    Although the vehicle in question is a Dodge Journey, this should work on all uconnected Chrysler products.

    Had battery replaced in my boyfriend’s 2017 Dodge Challenger and they never checked the radio to see if everything was working. Both speakers and back up camera were out. Tried this and worked instantly!! Thank you!!
    P.S. in his challenger the box is under passenger seat but is attached to the under part of the seat, not floor. The two black & white plugs are much smaller than in this video which threw me off at first but its all the same! Thanks again!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼😊

  • @chuckw6099

    What you are doing is basically "resetting" the factory amp power. Same thing by "cycling the power" by pulling the fuse and putting it back in. I used to install car audio for a living and the amplifiers have built in protection circuitry to prevent the amp from destroying itself from a short speaker or shorted wire. It is these shorts that is causing the problem of "no sound".
    In the "older" days of car audio, there were no protection circuitry built into the amplifiers, the amplifiers basically "smoked" and you had to have them repaired.
    Good luck in trying to find out which speaker is causing the short. The only way to find out which speaker is bad is to disconnect each one, play the stereo until the problem quits and you MAY have found your problem. Intermittent problems are the worst to troubleshoot, especially if the speaker still plays and the problem does not always show consistently.

    • @adventureoflinkmk2
      @adventureoflinkmk2  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah was gonna say, I think these journeys and such are full of disconnect and reconnect issues.. even my window switch. Also ever since the second time I disconnect and reconnect, the stereo system still works.

      It’s a defect. The problem is a defect, and there are thousands of complaints all over the net regarding this problem. Yet no recall. We took ours to the dealer. They didn’t mention it was a common problem. They wanted hundreds of dollars to repair the volume problem. Iirc, it was $600.00. We took it to a few local repair guys, and they all said the same thing. It’s a common problem, and they couldn’t fix it.Twenty years ago, they wouldn’t be able to get away with failing to put out a recall, or with continuing to sell vehicles without even bothering to change the defect.
      BTW, there is another problem which is common, affects several different vehicles, and concerns paint bubbling/ galvanic corrosion on the hood. Check your vehicle around the edge of the hood for paint bubbling. This affects several different brands, and should also be a recall. Some vehicles affected are 20+ years old. There is an internal memo, including how to repair it properly. Dodge fixed ours. They use a contractor. Both the contractor and Dodge refused to give us any paperwork to prove it was repaired.
      The arrogance and lobbying just galls me. Our next car will not be from an American manufacturer.

    I have a 2017 ram Big Horn. A message keeps coming up on my display about a program that will auto reset if I set the time for it to do it .. i’ve set the time to do it and did as instructed on the screen which is just to leave the key off. It’s been three weeks now, it has never done the reset itself, the display keeps showing that. My radio is shown as being in the mute stage. It doesn’t work. To tell you the truth, I don’t care about the radio, I don’t listen to the radio, but I would at least like it to work..
    How do I get my radio to work or out of the mute stage?
    I just thought of something. My warranty expired a few months ago, there was a recall for something to do with my computer/cruise control. I took it into the dealer and they did the “ update”.. now, I know there couldn’t possibly be a connection, I mean, they would never do anything this underhanded, but isn’t it a coincidence that all of a sudden I am having trouble with the radio that I have never listen to for more than maybe 10 minutes total. Just after I had my machine into the dealer for an update that was a recall for the cruise control. Now all of a sudden my radio doesn’t work.. keep in mind, I never listen to the radio, never. I know that Chrysler would never put a trojan horse bug in my radio system in order to have me generate business that is not covered under warranty for the dealer. They would never do that. But that’s what I would call a coincidence
