Just listening to you makes me want to raze the front and middle cab bolts and all the connections to lift the front of the cab safely giving a bought 6 to 8" of clearance at the back of the turbos and the up pipes. Making the job much easier
@kevinoneill41 to be honest partially lifting the cab is so much easier however cab bolts can be a nightmare. If you do not lift the cab at all you have very little room
Thank you for the video. This information will be very useful. My turbo seals are going in my 6.4, and im puffing white smoke. Im not looking forward to doing this job, lol. do you mind attaching a link to everything you think i should replace in the process seal wise?
About to do this on my truck. Can i just fully remove that down pipe to the egr? I didnt know there was a back pressure line down there is it important? I will still be using the twin turbo set up
My oil line to the turbo is leaking. Is it easy to replace? Or do I have to take apart a bunch of stuff to get to it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
@derekdineen3896 the oil line is on top. Have one connection in oil cooler housing a bolt there them 2 banjo bolts. One too each turbo. I would replace whole assembly. New seals gaskets on banjo bolts. Message me on Instagram if u need anymore help
When you noticed it was leaking was it giving off smoke? While driving and just running while parked? Because mine is leaking into my turbo also and is giving off a bunch of smoke
@JordanMendoza-h3b it can smoke while running. I do not recall this truck specifically. Make sure you check your crank case pressure. U can message me on Instagram if you need help.
*IMPORTANT* Before embarking on this hell of a job, do yourself a favor and check your intake going into your low side turbo if you have oil residue it is not your turbo seals it is your CCV filter it is clogged don't do what I did and rip your entire turbo out to realize this. This job is not easy, especially if you still have the OEM down pipes. Let me be the stupid one so you don't have to
@NutsandBoltswithTone grate video, by the way, even though I found out the hard way that I didn't have to take out my turbo, lol this video did help me tremendously
@NutsandBoltswithTone yes I honestly didn't even know anything about the CCV sistom till I did this job and i had white smoke and oil coming out of the oil cap and couldn't think of why that was till I put two and two together afterwards lol
I'm trying to do the turbo removal with cab on as you did, got the EGR tube loose at both ends and the brackets, got valve cover off, but I cannot get the EGR tube out as you did in the video. Could you advise how you accomplished that part of the teardown?
@patrickknapp7038 it was like a puzzle getting it out. I cannot recall how I actually got it. I wish I could help you. Message me on Instagram if you need more help.
I like to just undo my cab bolts and jack the nose like 3 inches let's you just pull the fuel cooler and elbow and you can swing in to get those rear facing bolts. 6.4s are tough I own one with 450k on her
You're a liar, and you should change the title of this video. It can not be done without at least lifting the cab, but I'm not 100% it's possible even then.
I just did mine over the week on a 08 f350 with the 6.4 and I got the turbo out without lifting the cab at all but at the same time I do have to lift the cab now because I’ve got to replace my up pipes and down pipes the up pipes was the whole reason behind this job then it turned into the turbo being locked up I just got the truck last week
Awesome job. Keep them videos coming boss. Will never get rid of my 6.4 love it to much so learning more about it the better off.
Thank you very much, stay tuned will have more 6.4 content for sure.

Great channel btw subbed. Doing a 6.7 upper pan job today.
Thank you so much. I have videos on that job as well.
@@NutsandBoltswithTone how I found you.

Good luck with the repair, message me on Instagram and I can help you out.
Thanks for the info I wish you could have showed us a video of taking the turbo off and putting it back on.
I have another video where I do this with cab off
Ok thanks

@ definitely need help. It’s a brand new complete engine with turbo. Put in by Ford. But the line they say is not covered under warranty

@@ryanthornell1117 that is a bummer. You can also remove oil cap while running that will tell you if ccv is clogged

Good work!
Thank you very much
Those two bolts arent supposed to be there between the turbos. Those are just for install/uninstall using hoist.
@bigjt22 ok thanks.
Has anyone install turbos separate like or can only be installed completely assembled as one piece
You have to remove them as an assembly and install them as an assembly, but you can replace one turbo if you want to.

Sure buddy. I've done it without lifting at all, partially lifting and completely lifting
