I just finished up my 6.4 rebuild about 200 miles ago, new maxxforce 7 pistons, had to go .030 over to get the cylinder walls straightened up, feelts a whole lot better! Its at 349k miles and hopefully will go another 350k!
@oscarreyna9581 so the pistons I bought on rock auto were about 900 with rings, Misc gaskets and studs and stuff like that were probably another 1000, machine work was 350 and I assembled it all myself and put it back into the truck, in total I spent probably 4k with new rocker arms, oil cooler, fuel cooler, and such
@WillfulMirror8 wow, that's not bad at all. Hearing that these things cost thousands just for only a couple parts. I have a 10, 6.4 Cabela's that has 168k miles. Been trying to figure out a few things to do. I don't want a race truck just more MPG! Lol this 8ish average isn't working. Lol
To make 500whp what would I need for it to be reliable. Could I have a 3 switch tune for it to? Being eco, towing, and race? (Race being the 500hp one)
Thank you so much. So with all the other upgrades what tune should i put in? Is a spartan tune good? Also it will have around 600hp and 1,200lns of torque with all upgrades?
C - Thanks for the feedback! We have a great guide on our website that will help you out here: dieseliq.com/the-best-6-4-powerstroke-performance-upgrades/
When would things like, intake manifold, exhaust manifold and downpipes need to be addressed? I have a 6.4 with everything you mentioned plus a few extras. Looking for other things I can add that would be worthwhile
X - They're definitely good supporting mods to consider. There really isn't a "need" to be addressed, it's more so of a want. Replacing the things you mentioned will make your vehicle more reliable at any stage.
@@8020Media awesome good to know, I love my 6.4 even on a lower power tune, the temptation is there to experience the full effect though here and there. Really good video, will be subscribing !

W - Nice! Sounds like a beast. It for sure will get 350k more.. Thanks for sharing!
What was the cost of all that?

6.4s are crazy ive seen them hit over 600 with just a tune and delete
P - Very possible!
A tow-tune 6.4 will walk a lot of built diesels 😂
bought mine from my uncle and holy cow it flies, pretty sure he did something like this
0 - Love to hear it! If done right, these things can be sick!
miss my ol girl, dynoed at 794 with 1400ftlb
M - Damn! Sounds like it was a good one! What happened to it?
I’ve seen a tune only 6.4 run 641hp on the dyno
@@8020Mediait was to the wheels
I guess if you run it on a kill tune in the right conditions, but anyways thats awesome!

Do you need to remove cab to replace down pipes?
A - Shouldn't need to!
Where's your shop. I have a 6.4 that needs help.
J - We are a fully online company, as of now. Therefore, we don't have a shop for customer vehicles.
$2,000 every time? That can get expensive.
P - Sure can!
