    I have a 89 GMC, I have to hire a mechanic to do this. Is there a way this can damage the system? A lot of mechanic have damaged my truck over the years. Apart from the radiator, I was told a transmission flush should not be done it can damage the system. What is that tool you used to put the radiator reservoir back on? I need to get one. I may attempt this by myself!

      Per my understanding you need to put the correct coolant. If you mix 2 different style it can cause it to gum up like my reservoir hose was. I’m not a mechanic but I did my research and so far so good

    Just a FYI: it’s called a petcock, not a peacock.
    Do you think the flush chemicals really make much of a difference?

      Thanks! I looked up after filming. :) I sure it did because I don't remember ever cleaning out the system since I go it new.

    Brother, I just recently purchased an 89 Chevy C 1500 for a low price , a steal. it needs a new clutch. What are your recommendations?

    Question, you not supposed use water from the garden hose !

    • @MisterMemo
      @MisterMemo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They say.... "If you use only tap water inside the radiator, your engine and radiator can start building up deposits of minerals from the water that can damage it. Distilled water is safer but it can also rust and corrode from the water, mineral or tap."

    • @iwontellyouitsmenotu

    The radiator fluid I have is green why is yours orange? I have an 89 GMC 3500 I hope it's because its a different model. Why couldn't you buy 50/50? I had my reservoir filled to the top once and it damaged my radiator. This was done at an oil change shop. They said it wouldn't damage it. It did damage it on the way home it over heated. I looked it up and it says because it expands.

      Per my trucks manual and what I read, it recommends to use dex-cool antifreeze on my truck.

      The orange stuff is a little bit worse for the truck than the green stuff from what I’ve learned and experience but I’d run green if ya can

      @@Bowtie4life69 for sure do your research! I’m just going with what the manufacturer said. I heard both mix reviews from “online experts.” I’m not a mechanic and this is just a hobby for me. 😎👍🏼

      You use distilled water and straight antifreeze because it's half the price of premix 50/50.
