Jackie Wilson was my favorite singer as a teen growing up in Mississippi. I had the opportunity to see him perform several times at the Apollo Theater in New York. He was a great performer and singer. He would always bring the house down with his vocals on Danny Boy, Lonely Teardrops, and all his other hit of the sixties. He really exhibits his vocal range on the album " Jackie Wilson Sings Al Jolson". I believe he could have song opera. What a fantastic voice. Thanks Jackie!

Such fond memories of this man and his stupendous talent. This from a 77 year old white gal. I liked Elvis but there is no comparison to Jackie Wilson, he sang falsetto and had an opera voice. The Brunswick Label took everything from Jackie. All the money had had made went to these parasites, doing what they do the best, stealing!

Look for "Jackie Wilson-Danny Boy (real live audio)" Jackie was my favorite singer until Otis Redding came along (notice I'm "OtisFan1"), but I still feel Jackie had the best voice and vocal delivery of any recorded pop singer . His classical & opera (Night, Alone at Last, My Empty Arms) even impressed an opera buff friend of mine.
