Yes, this cover is shortened a bit. It is not easy to get a bluesy-gospel Irish trad song with a honky-tonk piano onto a top 100 radio in the 60's. So, it's shoehorned in. This is how American music was invented. I never heard this on the radio in Detroit as a kid. It wasn't until ~50 years later I discovered it on TH-cam. Blown away.

I read somewhere that Brunswick Records didn't know what to do with Jackie Wilson because of him singing songs such as this. They (producers and J. Wilson) did a good job with the song, but they could have written him something better than this. He should have stayed in Detroit and could have been a bigger hit on Motown.
