Hello Arthur great review as usual. I'm looking to buy a cheap manual portrait lens and confused between this and TTartisan 50mm F1.2. Which one do you suggest in terms of sharpness and bokeh.
Hi Arther, thanks for your sharing. Your videos are very informative. I'm just thinking of buying a Chinese manual lens for low light portrait. At first I was attracted by the shortest focusing distance and round bokeh of the 55mm mark I. But then I'm afraid it is not as much sharp as Mark II or 50mm f1.2. Would like to hear from you.

Arthur please review the Kamlan 21mm 1.8. So many options in the 50mm range but not as useful as the 35ish equivalent range.

We also need a 2021 update for which of these lenses are still available for full frame.

This was by far the reason I fell in love with manual prime lenses... My company name is Prime Pro Visuals... but now I have the Zeiss 55MM F/1.8 and that is the king of 55MM Lenses... my Mark1 is going on my mantle and I may use here and there for kicks
I an guessing the manual focus magnification won't show up for this lens, right?

Hi, I have the Kamlan, its beast and built like a tank. Its a bit heavy but is well sharp enough when stopped down a little.

25mm is not a good lens don't buy... 55mm mk2 is very usable.. 25mm have lot many issues..
@@TravelMap 55mm is not a versatile length (for me).
@@opperbouwmeester for taking portraits it's great. Bokeh of this lens is not very smooth though

Top 5 (2021) Editon of aps-c glass you'd carry? (Autofocus for me).
Meh, I was hoping optically they'd have improved this a bit but for what I see the ttartisan 50/1.2 is superior in all aspects,.. can't wait to see your take on that.
The gear shaped bokeh on the 50mm 1.2 doesn't look too nice in comparison.

Is there any manual telephoto lens available for sony e-mount, APS-C sensors? I'm looking for one because the AF ones are too expensive to get my hands on.
Any old film tele lens should work just as well with an adapter, cheap ones are widely available, and the quality ranges from acceptable to great. The sweet spot for manual lenses on mirrorless APS-C are things that aren't as good or easy to find in the old film lens stockpile. Wide angles, large apertures, etc.

well, I just got one, and it is pretty good for fun.
Can you tell me? I just bought 7artisan 55mm f1.4 II but it does not Autofocus with my sony A6400 camera at all, can you tell me or make a video demonstration?
This lens does not have autofocus.

The only draw back of all these lenses needed to be steps down to obtain better images.
That's a lot of added weight for so little optical improvement. The aberration is the real deal breaker to me.....
In my "world" even the Sigma 56 f1.4 is cheap.
Sony suffers from internal sharpening algorythm as I see. You almost can get hurt by their hair :))
I know that Sony cameras has several internal algorythms that can't be turned off. If you're a newbie then you must know it! (before entering this system)
