Ur pretty. I wish I looked as good as u do. This 2nd round is just hammering me into the ground. I started LID today and I'm already sick of it. I keep telling myself "No toast and butter" as its my go to when I'm sick. Didn't feel well at all last nite. I get I-131 next month and can eat the day after that. Hey Brooke, how is your neck/shoulders in terms of mobility. I just had the same surgery about a week ago and I cannot move my shoulder/arm at all and my neck is much more swollen than yours.
My shoulder and neck were very sore at first, especially since they had to cut the muscle on one part, and I did have a bit of trouble with swelling, but after a few months (had the surgery in April), the swelling has gone down. I didn't have PT or anything, so my neck is still a little sore on that part, and there's still some numbness in that area, but it's not even close to as bad as it was.
The five-year survival rate for regional thyroid cancer is about 98.3 percent. Distant cancer has spread to structures that are further away from the thyroid. The five-year survival rate for distant thyroid cancer is about 53.5 percent
Brooke - I have a similar story as you where I had PTC, now have both thyroid lobes removed and recently 3rd surgery of Level II-IVB neck dissection at MDAnderson where PTC was in 2 lymph nodes and had focal extra thyroidal extension. Mid July I will go back to MDAnderson for Radioiodine Scan and possible treatment. I would love to connect with you if you could share any of your social media accounts or contact details.
