Lucky for us, she served past the traditional term on SNL (I feel like it is usually 7 years? Not sure where I've absorbed that info from. But the cast synergy kept a few people around a bit longer in her era). Keenan aside, it isn't meant to last forever and probably isn't super sustainable But yes yes yes please to the "Offerman takes on McKinnon as woodworking apprentice" show
Yes!! Along with Instagram woodworker sensation Leah Houghtaling, who lives in upstate NY. The two of them would be a riot together, with Nick Offerman it would be amazing.
I thought I shared this, but anyone who likes this idea will also love this McKinnon interview from a while back: th-cam.com/video/okV2xQtjXSM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5nzst9l2Zonh3oJx
@@mainefem8541 Is he the "My baby tunnel and my sewage funnel" woman who always gets abducted by aliens and ends up back on earth running around bottomless?
My dad, 92, is a carpenter, still working, and I had helped him on many, many projects. I understood everything she was saying about carpentry work. But to her credit, I probably have the same ability as her. My dad is a master.
One of my favorite late night clips is the old Kate McKinnon interview where she tells Seth about refinishing a dresser (or liking the idea of it) vis-a-vis her chonky cat. Just spectacularly funny. Its nearly the same basic story content as here but powered by 5-10 year younger-person energy
Kate is always so delightfully insane. I would love to see Kate and Aubrey Plaza in a room together. I imagine the result would be absolutely hilarious.
I would pay goooood money for Kate McKinnon and Nick Offerman to make the queerest, most backwoods, peak American carpentery show that has and ever will exist. I want to hear them talk about butt joints and pocket screws and maybe Megan Mullally pops in now and then to help shape some wood, polish some knobs, or admire the tooling...
I ordered the hardback for my math/science granddaughter since that is her preference. I ordered an audiobook for myself…….it is wonderfully expressive.
As a Kate fan, and a woodworker with a shop... this is just great. You come on in anytime Kate and you can chit chat shop with us and we'll even put you to work on something 🙂
My favorite Kate gag from SNL was her saying “Yes, the man…” when she did her impression of Betsy DeVos, #Donvict’s Sec of Education. That few seconds she did in tandem with Melissa McCarthy playing Sean Spicer still makes me laugh 7 yrs later.
Oh be still my heart, always loved her comedy, but now also woodworking nerd sister! Its so funny because the way she describes the walking past/walking in to the shop I have the exact experience with a local boat mini-yard that restores boats. I'm building a kayak, they must be my peoples!
Not a correction, just a bit of nerdiness: there are devices (one is the "crown king") that help people cut molding. The hard part is figuring out which angle to cut a 45 degree molding to make a 90 degree turn. My husband -- also a huge McKinnon fan -- is very enthusiastic about his.
Hope she gets some training in Crown molding ..... once you learn that you can build anything (Took me a year with a professional to learn how to cut and install correctly.)
Gotta get that book before November!, I like to be the uncle that gives the best books people might not have found because it's not a cartoon or movie.
Most funny people are truly depressed, it’s where the motif of the “sad clown” comes from. I suffer from major depression myself and while I personally don’t think I’m very funny, all my friends think I’m hilarious. I guess I’m a sad clown too.
I don’t know who or what that thing you’re going to summon is, but I will back you doing it if you need to. I probably won’t be around because I’m a lot older than her. Love Kate. I’m with you❣️💕🥰
@@HoraceInklingHopefully the ones closest to you care and are there for you when you need them. It gets better when you get older. I’m in my 60s now and I don’t know how old you are, but it does get easier. I struggled with that when I was younger, for many, many years. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and I sure hope you find yours. I don’t like anyone going through that alone. Sending you a hug.🤗💕
Hi LNSM Team - please could you number the two-parters or stitch them together into one clip? Every day it's 50/50 whether you are going to jump into an interview part way through. 😊 Thanks!!
Mad respect to alien abduction skits on SNL but my favorite was Kate and Billie Eilish at the creepy hotel and inn. Comedy gold and when Kate sees blood in the water, she's going to crack up other actors 😀❤
I'll rip with a sharp cross blade before using a dull rip. And I hope you're using either good PPE or have a HEPA dust extraction setup, all dust is bad for your lungs and some woods are literally poisonous.
I would watch a woodworking show hosted or featuring Kate McKinnon! Hopefully the guests would be professionals who could teach us good woodworking, LOL! I already know how to do the bad woodworking!!
She is a comedic actor genius. She could play a lamp post and make it be both realistic and hilarious. When she did Jeff Sessions, I know only didn't realize it was her, I didn't realize that it was a woman. That's how good of an impersonator she is.
For anyone who loves this, but hasn't consumed All Of The Internet over the past decade, we're seeing the evolution of "Kate McKinnon as novice woodworker" from this glorious starting point: th-cam.com/video/okV2xQtjXSM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vyBLqj6bzfnnxIzi Love her!
Kate McKinnon is destined to bring the Dumb & Dumber franchise forward, with the original front men, simply for the heck of it - If my little Jamaican self could finance that project - Yow!! YOW!!
Damn I want to be Kate's nature friend! My dream is to live in nature, away from humans. Until that point, I've brought nature to me! I have over 300 different genetic types of flowers- not including bushes, trees or vines. 😂 I'm biodiversity obsessed ❤
That mock of the cough was hilarious. Gem on SNL, gone too soon. She needs to be on with Nick Offerman and they can discuss carpentry some more. 😊
Eh, it was time for her to move on to bigger and better things :)

I NEED to see Kate McKinnon and Nick Offerman interview each other - NOW!
They should make a table together and film it !
Harrison Ford needs to be included as well.

Jeez even more in love with Kate McKinnon in her Woods phase
Kate is in her Forest Era

I will never not love Kate McKinnon. My personal all-time favorite SNL segment was her "Kellywise" clip - breathtaking talent (and funny AF).

My favorite character of hers (usually one sketch of that per season).

My nephew wants to be a carpenter, 16. 😊

I miss Kate on SNL. She's the reason I started watching after her amazing performance in Ghostbusters 2016 as Holtzman. I absolutely adore her.
Goddess.
I love her.
I love her shoes.
I can’t wait to read her book.

I feel like she’s probably the best with non showbiz people, just naturally funny, salt of the earth townsfolk.

Dr. Weknowdis!!! 😂💜
Can you imagine a remake of home improvement starring Kate and Nick Offerman. Wonderfully weird and hilarious.
My favorite skit was Kate as Ellen- she nailed it. So talented.

Kate McKinnon is a national treasure. .
She is such a weirdo and i LOVE it!!!
Love her. She should talk to Harrison Ford about his carpentry career!
Another time when Kate was on Late Night, she brought a gallon-sized water bottle. She should have brought it again!
Seth works like 3 weeks in a row and he becomes a sick victorian child.
The crush I have on this woman
They should make a version of the movie My Old Ass where Cate Blanchett plays the older Kate McKinnon.

1st world problems. YT is free; doing this pays the bill. If you want uninterrupted clips, there is always the expensive Peacock streaming option.
Meh. 75/25. The longer clip usually goes first. God speed.
