I watched the first episode of SNL in 1975. I was 21 years old. I turned 70 this month. There isn't a single sketch I didn't get through all these years.😂❤
9:42 "Wells for Boys" is one of my favorite sketches, especially this scene. "Because EVERYTHING is for you. And this ONE THING is for him." Such a good line.
I agree with you! It wonderfully illustrates, for me, and through a kind of humor I appreciate, a less than subtle truth about the kinds of attitudes and perceptions I've perceived over the years about how parents "teach" their child that, simply because this child is THEIR child, they are deserving of EVERYTHING, including that little trophy one gets for being on a losing team. ( After all, no one is a loser--and certainly not my child!)
the entire punching people right before they eat skit had me laughing non stop and my friends just didn't get it. i guess it really is only for a specific type of humor for a specific type of person 💀
I remember being so impressed with her throughout that whole episode. Just before that clip, she was about to break. Kate McKinnon was trying so hard to get her to crack, even physically pestering her during her lines, but then she pulled it together and delivered the yogurt joke perfectly, and it KILLED 😂
Yes I will be THAT annoying guy. How could you forget Adam Driver's career day as the oil baron and Farewell Mr.Bunting the Dead Poet's society parody.
That FUCK sweater sketch was the only one had me laughing when that guy kept screaming “NOOOOO!!!!” and stop the F going into place and the technical difficulties screen pops up. I’m going to look up that sketch right now.
What's of additional interest for me about this sketch is, I started watching television in its early days, in 1954. And perhaps, as you might already know, as the programming content continued to evolve, the censors clamped down more profoundly. Even in a sitcom that starred a married couple, and there was a bedroom scene, there had to be double beds. If there was a bedroom scene where there a bathroom located right off of it, apparently the cameras were not allowed to show a toilet or shower or bathtub--just the sink, with the latter not coming into acceptance until probably later in the 1950s. I believe it was the Leave It To Beaver sitcom where it might have "broken ground" with respect to showing the bathroom that's off the boys bedroom; and I'm trying to remember, but I think one of the boys used the sink for washing his face, or a toy of some kind, but only momentarily.
I am going to reply to my own "Reply" here. No matter how many times I look over my writing before I hit that "button," invariably I screw up somewhere. So in the fourth line the word "was" needs to be inserted between "where" and "there." It's just a bit of personal pride that helps govern my necessity for trying to get my writings as "accurate" as possible, i.e., to continue striving for some level of excellence in my personal writing.
Huh. Bill Burr has been in two entirely separate fake ads for Samuel Adams beer. No shit. (He's the guy who orders a "Samuel Jackson" on Chapelle's Show)
Had to look the name up, but I think you meant star wars deserved better. Being reduced to starwoke, state propaganda machine is something that should not have been allowed while Lucas is still alive to see it. To think we used to see the remaster as trash and don HAN SHOT FIRST shirts.... how the mighty have fallen.
I think better yet explain why it means a lot that someone you likely never interacted with being covered up gives you so much comfort. If you're an SA survivor maybe, but i am and aren't affected as i know franco isn't my abuser and cancel culture is shite.

Oh this specific type of person is for sure me 100% not sure what that says about me, and don't really care tbh.😉The commercials they made are seriously all SO DAMN FUNNY. Def one of my favorite things from SNL, along with the music. The rap songs are always hilarious, and fire at the same time. Andy Samberg always hilarious, LOVE The Lonely Island. They made so many bangers. I still listen to them. Adam Driver is the best damn host EVER on SNL. I wish he was a part of the cast...permanently. Same with Melissa McCarthy. She is a riot!!! She improvs most of her lines, and she always has me dying laughing. They should be brought back, and never allowed to leave the set again! Seriously though... Anyway... Michael Keaton is fkng amazing, I love how weird he is willing to go. He is my favorite Batman, and he is Beetlejuice ffs. Charles Barkley and his bad acting, that it's also amazing is hilarious. Kenan has been one of my faves since I was a child watching ALL that. Every person in all of these is amazing. I miss the ones no longer here. Will Ferrell, Aidy, Beck, Kyle, Kate McKinnon. Kate is def at the top. She is a legend. I miss everyone from that time. I can't even name everyone, there are way too many amazingly talented, hilarious people, to name them all.
0:14 as a flutist this bugs me SO MUCH because they’re holding it completely wrong and the positioning of the mouth and hands is NOT RIGHT 😂🥲 but I’ll ignore that because this is funny 😂
The one after the 5 minute mark with Kirsten Wigg made me laugh. Commercials for meds that say “Can cause severe breathing issues (anaphylaxis)” yet in the same breath tell you to “DON’T stop taking ____, unless instructed by your doctor.” 🤦🏻♀️ So, in “lame-man’s” terms, they’re really saying “You MAY feel like you’re suffocating to death from the allergic reaction, but DON’T you DARE stop taking it until your doctor decides to roll into their office to check patient emails, to tell you it’s okay.” Me: “Fvck you, y’sadist 🖕🏻😠”

Props to you Sandi! That's incredibly impressive. Who are your top 3 cast members? What's your favorite era?
