  • In this video, I will cover how we can add multiple connection templates under any custom database, copy paste data from different database and export full connector information to excel for reporting and estimation, it can also be used for drafting purpose.
    For any steel structure, connections are the most vulnerable part, and we need to design these properly considering all factors and check whether it can withstand the critical most loading condition. For any industrial or commercial steel building, like a plant or pipe rack structure, or a PEB warehouse, there are thousands of connections which we need to design, including member to member, bracing or base plate connection. To design any connection, we require the geometric data - like section information, orientation, spacing along with the load data, or member end forces. Based on this, connection design is performed.

    Surojit, why is RAM connection so limited? Why don't we have simple bracing connections for example?

      All connection templates are not available for all design codes. For AISC code, multiple bracing templates are available (horizontal as well as vertical bracing connection), not for Indian or Euro code. This is one limitation of the program.
