I have thr same bike, the gear sensor in mine did it once but I noticed that I didnt downshifted properly and the bike didnt know what gear I was in, it was between 3rd and 2nd gear....once I push it down all the way it showed 2nd gear. Thever had that problem again. 3k smiles so far.
Alright, that's good to hear👍🏾
I bought the 2023 CFMOTO 300SR version... With red accents on gray and black.
Damn thing is beautiful ❤️
I'm doing the break in right now...
Love this thing😊!! I've always had huge bikes, but this one is sooooo much fun!!! I'm not into high speed, but the Twisties are my thing through the mountains!😊
Good video bud!! Thx!!
@@leftymadrid thats awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video🔥
im at 2k miles on my 300ss i recently cracked a rim from a pot hole but I kinda fixed the rim with jb weld and ordered new one as well but aside from that I've been loving every part of my bike.
Cheers from Atlanta.
Damm that sucks🤦🏾♂️ but glad you got a new rim though!! Thats what I’m really enjoying the bike tbh🔥
Might have to purchase it now! Great review
Go for it! Appreciate that💪🏾
As weird as this may sound, you may have had a squirt of oil coming out of your front suspension due to a hard stop or major bump.
For the overheating, I saw a video of a philiphine about this issue on a 2021 where he recommended replacing the coolant so I replaced the coolant for a premium brand and it helped a lot, it wont overheat now.
Appreciate that! I haven’t had it overheat on me temps just started to get up there, thankfully it rained and dropped it way down😂
@@CMCINEMATIC. Well by "overheat" I mean higher than usual...just wanted to be safe thats why I replaced the coolant, the OEM coolant is not that great.
@@joseclaudio1670 alright thanks for the advice, any coolant is fine? Or is there a specific brand or type that would be the best option?
@@CMCINEMATIC. I use Prestone 50/50 mixed, all makes and models
Appreciate the down to earth review. You seem content with your purchase although you have more than a few issues with it. As much as I want to like this bike Im having a hard time with it based on your review.
I was looking for a bike to add to my extensive collection, thank you for your insight 🔥
At this point, I'm interested to know what is in your collection😂🔥
Great video mate 👍👍I own the 300 sr in UK same as ss in USA. I am 46 years old and have owned over 20 bikes in 30 years of riding. I have owned bikes 130 bhp + and love this little bike. No power really but all great for clogged roads, and speed camera 📸 everywhere in the UK. Have order pipe for it so hope ring out more poke. Mpg is excellent 80 miles + thrashing it. I have got a bigger screen for £15 from Ali Express. Dudes go for it.. Its lighter than twin and handle better with same 0 to 30mph punch as 500 parallel twin.
Modern bikes have a PCV system just like all modern vehicles that dump crank gasses containing oil into the intake system. So yes, oil in the intake tract is normal. The pcv system needs cleaned every so often as well as the intake.
Appreciate that💯
How much oil are we talking about here? Cause a little bit is normal but anything beyond a small misting is indicative of excessive crankcase pressure from blow by which is BAD…my guess is it’s like a lot of Chinese engines, copied from an outdated Japanese engine but built with crap materials and garbage quality control…when your engine was built they could have improperly gapped (or spaced) the piston rings
@@localenterprisebroadcastin5971 there wasn’t a crazy amount, I had a straight pipe exhaust on there for a while too, would make pops and bangs, do you think that contributes to this?
@@CMCINEMATIC. no the popping and banging is just cold air inside a hot exhaust system reigniting unburdened fuel …some bikes actually do it on purpose to help with emissions …you don’t notice it with a proper exhaust system because the exhaust has proper back pressure to prevent ambient air from entering your exhaust…but either way it’s not causing the issues you’re citing
I have a 300NK that I got a few weeks ago. I love it. It's a light clutch just like the 300SS. I have no issues and the brakes are really good. Where do u ride?
Thats awesome! glad to hear that, I ride in Central Florida!
I think I mentioned this to you before but I do want to start on the 450ss
Yeah, I agree that you should honestly!
I bought one in november last year and low beams not working at 1500 mile mark. Called CF MOTO customer assistaance just to see what their take is on it before i hit social media and they dont call back and no one picks up the phone . I just want it fixed correct during the warranty but even after that will i need to go for that whole head assembly every 1500 miles !!??
better off staying with a better company, kawasaki, yamaha etc for more money they are more established
That sucks, did you ever contact your dealer? That’s usually the best way to go about anything it seems with the brand.
I also have a 300ss it had oil in the air box as well and it has an idle issue. It just dies after a few mins sometimes. The cluch is the same just able. All my lights also shorted and needed service from the dealer but other than that grate bike
@@financedburrito4510 what area are you in? I’m wondering if it’s the dealership not taking the time to put these bikes together properly🤷🏾♂️ but hopefully you don’t have to deal with those issues after you take it to the dealer.
@CMCINEMATIC. it was most likely the dealer, and they fixed the problem
More bts would be great, nice video too!
Noted📝 and appreciate the compliment🔥
What is the bikes MPG averaging?
For me, around 80-100 miles depending on how I ride on a full tank.
da wild ones😎
🤣🤣😎
I love the color but I’m torn between the 450 SS and 300 ss can you tell me why you didn’t get the 450?
The reason I got the 300SS is because the 450SS was just rumors at the time I was getting my 300SS. So honestly if the 450SS was out when I was making the purchase I would definitely opt for more power at almost the same price point.
Oh ok thank you they have the 2023 450ss on sale for 3700 in black it’s nice but that gray is hot it’s a hard choice. I keep going back-and-forth. More power or color I’m gonna make up my mind Monday to pick it up.
@@josephvillanti7035 I would say more power is always better especially since it's still a small displacement bike. Overall it’s still your call but glad you’re getting either one to begin with, hopefully, you enjoy it as much as I am or even more!
@@josephvillanti7035 -Did you get the 450ss? Let us know.
@@CMCINEMATIC. - Great review CMC, thanks for the direct honesty/objectivity.
My only question is knowing all you know would you buy cf moto again
This is a great question! Honestly if they had a bigger sports bike other than the 450, knowing what I know I would definitely pick one up! Name brand at the end of the day for me doesn’t hold as much weight as it used to back in the day.
I actually like the cf Moto brand, it's just not enough owner reviews on reliability, but it's a great video, and thanks for responding
@@adambing-rosario-qi3jf yeah I agree, thats one of the reasons I picked one up. May not sound like it makes sense but there isn’t much long term reviews out there for the brand. Bigger TH-camrs just make first ride reviews but for people actually wanting to purchase, that doesn’t help much. Glad you enjoyed the video though🔥
As far as oil in your airbox my guess is oil level is to high 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah I’ll take a look in there again see if there’s any oil that got back up. But the mechanic I don’t know if he was being 100% with me hopefully he was but the bike runs completely fine‼️
Oil in the airbox, means one of two things.
Overfilling, or too high revs.
whenever you buy a new bike, replace every liquid on it first.
I have 300sr 2024 and I am satisfied
Thats awesome! Is your bike having any similar issues that i brought up in the video? Seeing that its a newer model.
Lemmy get da bike 🙂
How you want me to send it 🤣
Hey bro, what's your helmet?

@@CMCINEMATIC. thanks 🫡
Why. There are plenty of better Japanese bikes. How broke does one have to be to choose one of these china made. The savings are a false economy. I'd rather buy a good second-hand Japanese brand.
I mean being broke doesn't have to be in the equation, people want to know about the brand. It's affordable at the end of the day. Which bike do you recommend!
@CMCINEMATIC. they're not even much cheaper.
I'd take anything over this.
Ktm duke 200. Duke 390, kawasaki dominar 400, pulsar.
Yamaha, r3/mT03. Honda cb300, triumph speed 400. Kawasaki z400. One of my bikes is a 2019 Duke 390. Have it for 3 years and put 45k km of trouble-free, hard riding. It only asks me for tyres and chains.
Just save up a bit more to start.
It's cost one less in hassle and repairs, and when it comes time to resell. They will hold their money for a higher return than the China made.
@@chriswest2290 You made some valid points, but one of the main topics was pricing on this brand new bike, there's parts available. Either way, the bike is still cheaper than the naked bikes you recommend. I think you are watching the wrong video if you didn't need a recommendation on the 300SS.
Nonetheless, I appreciate your input!
@@CMCINEMATIC. cheaper? In what way. Like I said. It's a fault economy.
I think you're confusing cheap China made bikes with the quality of CFMOTO. You listed KTM in you choice of alternates without recognizing that CFMOTO makes engines for KTM, not to mention China manufacturering a large amout of components included in Japanese bikes. And there's no doubting that CFMOTO is stomping on the Japanese brands in this year's MOTO3 series.... it's time to expand your understanding of what China is doing.
do you plan to upgrade?
I’m still doing some looking around, I want the R7, the gsx6r seems cool, and the rs 660 is nice as well😂🤷🏾♂ so I want to upgrade, just figuring out what’s my best option.
@@CMCINEMATIC. well let me be the first in line for the 300 if sooner than later
@@culturdcustom lol I gotchu🤣
