Overall, it's all been good. Second riding season, one recall, but it's being taken care of. Only complaint I have deals with Alpinestars and their bad customer service with my Tech Air 3 airbag vest.
I bought the 2024 450nk and after 200 miles I had an oil leak dealer said it was the pan and tightened it, took in for first service and it was still leaking. Dealer said they torqued the oil pan to spec. It was still leaking, they found it was coming from the front sprocket seal and after 2 weeks they called and said they can’t get the part from Cfmoto’s parts department. They said it is on back order. It has now been almost a month with no bike because it is still sitting at the dealership waiting for the seal to come in. 😭
I had the same issue. Apparently some cfmoto motors from the assembly line drilled a little deep on the waterpump which gave you a slow leak. I got a new motor installed under warranty
Let the dealer know about that issue. At least that's what my dealer told me. I bought mine on December 17, 2023 and had to take the bike in in January 30, 2024. It took until March 7th that I was able to get it back under a new wayerpump, but was still having the same issue. So the dealer had a representative from cfmoto to check it out and I got me a new motor
I hear abt that problem kinda often. Specifically the oil leaking and taking a long time for parts, I see people saying that if u get the bikes and u should bc their extremely good, order your basic maintenance parts as well, seals, filters, cables, their cheap to buy in bulk and it’s good to have to have always !
That is actually a bit different. Yamaha and CFMoto have a joint venture called ZHUZHOU CF YAMAHA MOTOR CO.,LTD which both parties share ownership. CFMoto does not own Yamaha in any way shape or form.
Hey Robsolutely, good to see you on your CFMOTO again. Yeah Recall is pretty normal these days regardless of brand. You seemed to have stuck with the CFMOTO 450 longer than some of other bikes you have had so you must be enjoying it :) Keep safe.
Just noticed, did you remove the blue decal along the bottom? Ive been thinking about removing it and the "SR" sticker because mine says "play to win" and i hate it 😂
Yeah, I removed the blue lower sticker. I liked it, other than it seems like it was cut off. I think they could have made it look better, so I took it off!
Been wanting to get this bike for ages, and I'm like 2 weeks from actually getting it. I'm happy you give an honest opinion about this bike because recently I've been hearing a lot of hate about it since its a Chinese company. You kinda just reassured me that I'm not getting a bad bike and I really appreciate it. Ride safe man
It's a great bike! People that have never rode it will say bad things about it. I'm on my second riding season and love it! Congratulations on getting yours soon!
2 year warranty? 4 years here in the UK, and 8 years breakdown cover if you keep it serviced by a CFMOTO dealer. I've just bought a 450 NK. I haven't ridden in 35 years..... and I love it. 👍🏼
2 year warranty is free with the bike. I can’t remember how much exactly but it was pretty dang cheap to have another 3 years added on through either CF or your dealer. Coolest part of that is they let you buy it at any point within the first two years.
have worked in the industry. The other manufacturers did recalls. Honda when they updated their new pan european (was a while ago) They did several, from wiring loom to paint protection from the seat. Often they are done while the machine is in for service.
OK BUT, spare parts, this is what i consider the only problem. did they improve the logistics? will i find parts to service my bike along time the times or will it just rust when something breaks
I do have one question. Ive had my 450ss for about 10 months now and after about 4 months, I noticed the chain makes a lot of noise. It only starts after about 30mph but gains in intensity with more speed. Its kind of like a zipping sound. Ive adjusted, cleaned and lubed it several times and even took it to the shop and they adjusted it and said everything is fine on it. Im kind of irritated because anyone riding on my left hears the chain over the motor. Its really only noiticible for me when riding if I lean over to that side, or if im not wearing a helmet. Is this something you have dealt with or heard about at all?
I don't notice any noise from the chain. From what you are saying, it sounds to me like yours is rubbing against something. You said you adjusted it and keep is lubed, so it should't be too loose. If you have a rear stand, maybe put it up on that and turn the back wheel to see if the chain hits on something?
@@ROBSOLUTELY Yea i did that and its not hitting anything, even the dealership took a look at it and made sure it was adjusted properly. Im actually going to trade it in and get a rebel 1100. It will be more comfortable and a little more power and storage with the touring boxes.
I wonder if it's the new Euro 5 emissions. I got a Euro 5 bike a few months ago and I can now hear both the drivetrain when moving and the valve train at idle. All the new Euro 5 bikes are so quiet that odd noises that you would never hear before now can be heard.
I think the bike will be launching in India. I wanted to ask whether it has a quickshifter preloaded or does it come as an accessory. And if accessory then how much does it cost? I’m actually confused between RS457 and this bike.
I have a grom, 450ss, and a Gsxr 750. The 450ss is my daily and it’s ALL the power I need and more. So much fun, I honestly like this bike the most (I just like the sound of inline 4 on my gsxr 😅)
I bought a 450ss last May. I haven’t ridden it since last September due to an injury. It was probably a sign that I didn’t ride it. (Any tips on how to restore it?)
I'm not sure what you need to restore? It was new when you bought it? So it should be good to go. Charge the battery if doesn't have a charge, make sure you have gas in the tank and ride!
@@junyuuh7492 First oil change after break in period. Having the bike sit for a few months it not a reason for an oil change, unless it's maybe over a year. Talk to you dealer and let them know. I cannot say for sure, but they will be able to answer your questions.
I didn't like my RC390, so I would say the 450SS, however, it's just the comfort level that I didn't like on the KTM. Both good bikes. See which you fit on best.
