I've had my rig a while now but I'm still using my old GT 100 for gigs. Seeing your vids has now inspired me to get it sorted asap. Jorge, I’m digging your setup here. Thanks for sharing. I just bought a smaller pedalboard myself to setup my MG-30 for use live, so this was a perfect video to watch. One question: are you powering your MG-30 with the Cioks power supply? How’s that working out? I have a wireless power supply with one 300mA output, so I was hoping to use that instead of the stock power adapter that NUX supplies. Thanks in advance, and thanks for sharing all your MG-30 patches. I'm enjoying them!

    • @JorgeSalasGuitar
      @JorgeSalasGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m powering the MG-30 with the Cioks! I also power the pedal as well AND my phone while I go Live. It’s working out great. I love the portability and the ability for the Cioks to power 9,12,15, and 18 volt units.
      You should check it out and thank you for your comment!

    Hello Jorge, I have the NUX MG30 on trial now...I have the little sexy dual foot switch assigned to reverb and delay, but it would be better for punching in the EFX (TS) and the ext loop ... for the NUX Brownie (ProCo RAT based, just juicier) or another pedal of choice, like my trusty SD1 or TS808...

  • @umbrellajune
    @umbrellajune ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it! Subscribing. :) I would like to know two things though. (1) Is it possible to assign 2 delay pedals within MG-30? For e.g., in the signal chain that's seen on screen, if I want to use a delay in "Mod" section, is that possible? (2) When you go from one scene to the next, or when you go from one patch to another, if I am using a delay with long repeats, will the delay trails at be carried forward or will they get cut-off abruptly? Hope my questions are not confusing. :)

    • @JorgeSalasGuitar
      @JorgeSalasGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it's possible to assign two delay pedals. What I'd do is copy the preset then change the delay pedal on the copied preset. This way you can go back and forth.
      I don't know about the next question. I don't use delays too much. I would imagine that it doesn't cut off but I could be mistaken!

    Great stuff man.. I love your rig. I honestly think you are better off without the East River. With your Les Paul you have too much high mids. If you want a pedal in front of the mg30 you'd do better with a new ODR1 with the 'bass cut' switch activated. Try it..

    hi bro, thanks for the run through.. may I know why don't you use the built in Overdrive models? do you find them to be 'digital' sound? I do have MG 30 too wonder what other feels about the built in drives efx, thanks

    • @JorgeSalasGuitar
      @JorgeSalasGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Andrew! Thanks for the question. So I’m a huge analog fan. Live is the only time I use digital and while it is great, it can never replace a real amp.
      I use an analog pedal cause I think about signal chain a lot. Sound running through analog gear has a fullness that digital does not. I had some space in my Pedalboard so I figured why not. Now as to why I added OD is because I find it to have a lot of flavor in my playing. I don’t play a lot of ambient guitar sounds but if that were the case, I’d pick up a delay or reverb.
      Hope that helps.

    Hello ! I have external pedals - a boss ns2 and a drive pedal. I would like to add it on my pedal board with mg30.
    From the way I see it, I can connect my drive pedal going into my ns2 (s/r block) then to Amp sim/IR. But what if I want to use my real amp and it has send and return too. The ns2 has send and return too. How do I use it if I want 4 cable method ? I’m planning to bypass amp and IR from mg30.
    Since I have send and return on boss ns2, mg30 and my real amp, + my drive pedal, how should I connect them together ? Please advise. Thank you.

    • @JorgeSalasGuitar
      @JorgeSalasGuitar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh gosh this hurts my brain 😂😅 ok so what I would do is pick ONE pedal and use it as the S/R. That’s how I have used it and I don’t plan to use other pedals.
      Having an OD pedal is perfect to add some analog flavor to your signal chain. Any other effect will be just fine coming from the NUX.
      I thought about using 4 cable but look, honestly I wouldn’t. It is too complicated playing live to worry about 4 cable. Take it from a touring musician. I would just go direct OR use a FR powered cab. That’s it. Keep it simple.

    Hello Sir, can i ask about the cable set up of your pedalboard? Like, input/output/send/return, thanks.

      I would go straight into the NUX, SEND to any pedal(s) you want, connect the OUT of that pedal to the RETURN of the NUX, then I connect my OUT (MONO) of my NUX to front of house.

      Thanks Sir, very helpful. I have East River Drive too. I bought it when I watch your videos a year ago. Then I bought, a Pedalbot Midi Controller for My Scenes and Tap Tempos. And download your free patches. What if the First Chain is East River Drive? Goes to the MG30?

      @@lars_21_gitarista53 You can do that. I prefer it as a SEND/RETURN though so I have my Wah and Vol first but up to you.
