Gonçalo Ramalho It's because it came out the same year as Unity, which got a ton of publicity and had a rough launch, and Rogue came out on the 360/PS3, a year after the Xbone and PS4 were out.
partogi andreas hutapea plays every Assassin based AC game: "Cool." Plays a single Templar based AC game: "death to the Assassin Order, long live Templar reign"
Usually I'm all assassin but what Shay did was right. Achilles was just going to ignore what happened in Lisbon with all those innocent people and was still looking for more sites when Shay told him what happened. When Shay took the manuscript his friends were too eager to kill him. Chevalier shot him and bombed the homestead trying to kill him. Assassins on this game were like the Borgias.
The game is great because the Assassins are meddling with forces they don't understand, and many innocents are getting killed. When shay tries to prevent them from hunting the pieces of Eden that hold the world together, they try to kill him. Shay is reluctant to hunt the Assassins, but knows he must, because the Assassins are so desperate for an advantage over the Templars that they could destroy the world.
+Kevin Connolly I still can't understand why people hate on this game so much; I thought naval combat in AC3 was absolute shit, then AC4 improved upon it and i forgave ubi for the disaster of a game they had prior. And then rogue came... It not only exceeded my expectations and polished the stuff they missed in AC4, it took my expectations out to a fancy dinner date, a nice moonlight walk on the beach then proceeded to F**K my expectations.
Azfar Atiq I agree, I feel like AC3 is a very underrated game it felt just right in so many ways. Nailed the dark story & realistic naval combat. One thing that doesn't really make sense is how both Black Flag & Rogue take place before AC3 but somehow have more options in ship upgrades. I mean I know they were sequels but come on that just doesn't feel right. Rogue though was excellent it scratched that itch for players who wanted just a little more of both AC 3 & Black Flag as the game is a nice mix of the two.
I was at first but then I came to realisation that the only reason I'm looking forward to this is because Adewale, Haythem and Achilles are in it.. Unity in my opinion will make this game look like shit, but yeah if those characters weren't in Rouge then this game I reckon would be shittt
I can't believe unity was such a disaster despite the ENORMOUS marketing making it look like the best one yet but alas it was all for naught and this game was meant to get you hyped for unity but in actuality this game is BETTER than unity
So Achilles was the leader of the assassins during this time?, must have been a shit strategist seeing as he fired on innocents which is why Shay left in the first place.
Give the man some credit. It's not like he expected a Templar with all the skills of an assassin to show up and establish a base, then start striking out at them. Or one of his very own recruits to switch sides, vowing to kill every assassin he comes across. Or his entire family to die of a terrible sickness. I'm pretty sure any strategist in history who faced an enemy that knew their tactics, had one of their most highly skilled fighters betray them to hand over valuable secrets, and then suffered a huge personal loss... would be pretty much screwed.
Well then judging by his reaction he looks more shocked than anything. Somehow I feel it's more the redhead's fault, given that she's the one he's yelling at and her reaction.
Since when did putting more games out for the public become such a bad thing? You people are never satisfied. Ubisoft have put the same amount of time into Rogue as they did with Black Flag, which was an amazing game. Unity has been in development even longer than that. The COD comparisons are silly. While COD may change a few maps and gun models every year, AC requires a new open world map, gameplay element, character designs and a compelling narrative that will take about 20+ hours to complete with a multiplayer mode on top of everything else. You can get this twice in a year and yet people complain?
i agree with most of what you said but this game is even using assets from Black Flag animations and Ubisoft even stated that Rouge has only been in development since the beginning of 2014 that's not even a year and Black Flag was in development at the beginning of 2011 that's 3 years Rouge will probably be as good as AC3
xXbuddybearXx sorry I could've sworn i read that Rogue was in production early 2013. Almost 2 years. However even if it is modeled off of Black Flag that's not necessarily a bad thing. Black Flag was highly regarded as one of the best AC games in the franchise. IMO Ubisoft made this game for the hardcore fans of the franchise. I want to buy this game because I've invested myself in the lore and this new grey area of the Assassins-Templar war is very interesting. Revisiting the gameplay of blackflag is only a plus. Not a negative like most make it out to be.

Ubisoft stop giving us such likable characters then never using them again like 😭😭 shays motives were so good and his story was even better bring him back I loved this game it was so unique and a much better point of view it made you realize that the Templar’s aren’t just a band of psychopaths but just people with a different point of view as the assassins Edit: I don’t know why they don’t do two games per character like they did 3 fucking games with Ezio and Altair why are they making one game per character now 😭😭😭 even Connor has two games even though he’s not playable in liberation he was still in it but Edward, Arno and shay get shafted right up the booty hole c’mon Ubisoft give us something here
I think that Connor will eventually defeat Shay, Maybe some time skip where everybody thought he was dead. And when he is older that he will confront Connor
Shay was never a Templar, he was disappointed in what the assassins have become and decided to fight against them, Achilles realised his mistakes later on in his life and trained Connor, seeing that there was hope for the assassins and Shay would've been happy to see it. That's why it’s called rogue.
So just a note to all people who have next gen here; no one gives 1/10 of a crap about how unity is. It's cool and all but last gen people have souls to. I think it at least right we get a last assassins creed for last gen. Now listen, people saying "ER MAH GERD THIS GAME SUKS GET UNITY" well did your thick skull ever consider that maybe just maybe, SOME PEOPLE CANT AFFORD IT?!?!?!
The unsatisfying thing is that we know Shay 100% does complete his mission of wiping out the brotherhood. But, we no not how so of corse that's the interesting part 😃 May The Father of Understanding guide us all! 😛👍
***** yeah but does Shay get killed, or do they finally come to terms about what might have been a misunderstanding or what? but I think playing an Assassin turned Templar, taking on the Brotherhood is brilliant and we also get Unity so we get to keep playing with a new "true" Assassin as wel
At least they tried and though it isn't as good as the Italian accents gracing the earlier games it's better than just lazily making French accents British
I love how when the announcer says "Rogue" in the title it sounds so spliced in. like every time they make a trailer for a new title they just use the same exact audio and just stick the new subtitle right in there
Fucking unreasonable why he had to choose to becomes the templar because he can do anything what he wants. Slaughtering, Murdering, Rape the Peace, Injustice, Assholes, Motherfuckers and all bad ass ambitions he wanted to be. Anyway this is a cool game but why it must be just for 1 unreasonable reason? was he afraid to deal with Templar? I am so confused already. Poor story telling just causing for 1 effect of destroying the town, he began to be the Templar. This is so fucking weird, Does anybody want to tell this story was too poor in psychology brainwash?
I really hope the combat in this goes up a bit. Blackflag was ridiculous, you cut through people like paper mache. Even AC3 had combat that felt at least somewhat impactful and heavy. In AC4 you just jammed your sword into anyone at all, and moved on from it in 0.5 of a second. Hopefully fighting trained assassins will make this a tad more challenging.
Even the assassin "bosses" can be easily dispatched with a rope dart (which hopefully we don't have to wait 95% of the story to use) or weakened with a few pistol shots.
I just wish they would make more AC games a bit farther in the past, I just don't like the inclusion of guns in this game, it just isn't very assassiny. It was cool and okay when they introduced the hidden wrist-gun in AC2 and it took time to target and shoot people and it was an actual secret weapon, now with all these guns they just wear blatantly around their clothing I feel annoyed by the sheer lack of stealthiness to it. I believe that ancient itally was really the best location for an AC game otherwise I would move it to ancient Japan or China instead of all these western craps with all their guns.
Extremely underrated/underplayed game, it's one of the best in the series.

Ubisoft stop giving us such likable characters then never using them again like 😭😭 shays motives were so good and his story was even better bring him back I loved this game it was so unique and a much better point of view it made you realize that the Templar’s aren’t just a band of psychopaths but just people with a different point of view as the assassins
Edit: I don’t know why they don’t do two games per character like they did 3 fucking games with Ezio and Altair why are they making one game per character now 😭😭😭 even Connor has two games even though he’s not playable in liberation he was still in it but Edward, Arno and shay get shafted right up the booty hole c’mon Ubisoft give us something here
They only did two for Altair just saying
I think that Connor will eventually defeat Shay, Maybe some time skip where everybody thought he was dead. And when he is older that he will confront Connor
I would also like if Shay would not talk down Connor's ideals but tell him that they suit him well.
Connor is kid in this game.
Maybe shay will survive until connor gets older. but hidden
GODDAMMIT UBISOFT! MAKE THIS GAME BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE OR REMASTER IT FOR CURRENT GEN ALREADY!
its backwards compatible and has a remastered version too...just finished the 360 version on series x for first time...
knew they would be releasing stuff for ac rogue today knew it
"Assassin's Creed Rogue... BEEEEEEWBS."
We all think we are heroes in our own story
love a good story about a "good" guy turning into a "bad" guy
You got Animus's side effect!
*Late Comment* A 'Gray' guy turning into a 'Gray' guy. Both sides aren't either good or bad.
Bartosz N *Late reply* Thats why I used the "Good", "Bad" :P
You probably don't understand the point of Shay.. He wanted to save the world, from assassins, not to conquer it... so I would sey From good to Better
[Z]EKTOR "good guy" - "Bad guy" there is a reason I used "". But I did understand it mate, played it.
Shay was never a Templar, he was disappointed in what the assassins have become and decided to fight against them, Achilles realised his mistakes later on in his life and trained Connor, seeing that there was hope for the assassins and Shay would've been happy to see it. That's why it’s called rogue.
:O HONEST TRAILERS VOICE!
thats the guy from the honest trailers
So just a note to all people who have next gen here; no one gives 1/10 of a crap about how unity is. It's cool and all but last gen people have souls to. I think it at least right we get a last assassins creed for last gen. Now listen, people saying "ER MAH GERD THIS GAME SUKS GET UNITY" well did your thick skull ever consider that maybe just maybe, SOME PEOPLE CANT AFFORD IT?!?!?!
well said my friend
This is one of the more interesting stories in the series lately!
The unsatisfying thing is that we know Shay 100% does complete his mission of wiping out the brotherhood. But, we no not how so of corse that's the interesting part 😃 May The Father of Understanding guide us all! 😛👍
not 100% though, Achilles survived and i bet he's the one that stop Shay.
***** yeah but does Shay get killed, or do they finally come to terms about what might have been a misunderstanding or what? but I think playing an Assassin turned Templar, taking on the Brotherhood is brilliant and we also get Unity so we get to keep playing with a new "true" Assassin as wel
Shay won't die. He has to pass on his memories somehow, and the games always allow free roaming at the end.
shay lived to train his grandchild
Achilles?? From AC3? Awesome!
Decent attempt at an irish accent, but it's clear that Shay's voice actor isn't actually irish. Probably a British voice actor.
he is irish lol
He's Irish...
The voice actor clearly isn't -_-
Its not her, they have confirmed it
At least they tried and though it isn't as good as the Italian accents gracing the earlier games it's better than just lazily making French accents British
Game is short but too good
Rogue Marie Rogue Anna-Marie Stark™. Rogue Trooper Rogue X-Men Anna Marie Anna Marie Anna Marie
I love how when the announcer says "Rogue" in the title it sounds so spliced in. like every time they make a trailer for a new title they just use the same exact audio and just stick the new subtitle right in there
It's too bad he don't know the Templars kill innocence in AC3. There really no good or bad side in this game.
Your right but what side do you prefere?
Schubert Rivas I chose to believe "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." But I'll play this too!!
*****
Assassins want Freedom and Chaos, Both factions want peace, it's how they want to obtain it.
ZER0Artdiary I agree that it is a little confusing. But i must defend Ubi as it is hard to tell a story in ~2 minutes without it being bad
My favorite AC game, My Favorite AC protagonist, and my favorite AC faction.
Aw sweet epic voice guy.
Awesome wasn't only one to catch on
+drusty64 lol ikr
I really wish they would make a sequel to Rouge. I would love to see what happens to Shay
fuck yea,2015 for pc
pc master race
abubakerh to be honest,it surprised me that this game wont be for pc when ubisoft announced it,but now...damn good news :)
crni gruja I know it was eventually gonna be on pc , but I taught in a year not so soon
was that the epic voice guy from screen junkies at the end?
I really hope the combat in this goes up a bit. Blackflag was ridiculous, you cut through people like paper mache. Even AC3 had combat that felt at least somewhat impactful and heavy. In AC4 you just jammed your sword into anyone at all, and moved on from it in 0.5 of a second. Hopefully fighting trained assassins will make this a tad more challenging.
It will. According to an interview, the Assassins can counter-kill you if you spam the attack button.
yeah but assassin's in the game are supposed to be the counter to this. they seem pretty op for now.
Even the assassin "bosses" can be easily dispatched with a rope dart (which hopefully we don't have to wait 95% of the story to use) or weakened with a few pistol shots.
I thought AC4 fixed the game being too easy until you get a bunch of upgrades later on in the game, then it's easy again
Best Assassins Creed game!
it looks really good i don't give too shits about next gen or last gen i will play it
Very underrated AC game.
I'm sure "Unity" will be a good game, but this is THE ONE!
Also, it's nice to see the return of Haytham, the true main character of Black Flag.
