If Haytham was asked about why he remained in the Order despite all the crap he was put through, his answer would be: "Because is the only thing I know for real."(even if he doesn't want to admit it)
I think it's supposed to be a metaphor, nothing more (something like the personification of templar's creed. It doesn't exist, it's just an idea that reminds real templars what they are fighting for). After all, both Templars and Assassins are atheists (because they know that any "miracle" can be explained with "it was the piece of Eden" in their universe), so it definitely cannot be God.
+marlice hakurei +David Šindler I wish I knew the answer and hopefully, it's something that will be revealed. My current guess is Aita. From what we've seen of the Sages, they seem to be in line with the Templars in many ways.
Ubisoft keeps changing continuity, it used to be a phrase like "may the force be with you" but in later games it is established that there is a figure known as the guardian of the cross who was the grand master of earth, but the movie then changed cannon and replaced the guardian with a council of elders so the father of understanding went back to being a phrase. In AC2 as you mentioned it says that the first Templar was Cain so he could be the father but ubisoft changed the lore in AC origins by making the Templar origin in 49 bc, finally they did give us an origin to the phrase by saying that Caesar is the father of understanding. its complicated

0:17 Is it just me or does that look like Charles Lee??? But in the words of Connor: "LEE."
gIVe mE lEe !!!!!
IMO i think that whole 3rd AC should has been about Haytham.
So true when I first played ac3 just rushed to Connor cuz he is the poster boy of ac3 but in terms of story man haythem is far more interesting
Man if Ubisoft was smart could have made spin-offs of the Templars and make games of it could have made different eras intertwined maybe return to old ac games like ac 3 and learn some new stuff hell they made rouge man so much lost potential
@@______________________-___For me Rogue had to be a game about Haytham, he is the best written and most interesting character after Ezio, more than anything because at the beginning of 3, we are good
@@Revenn_n that be cool but it’s Ubisoft they are not that creative could have made multiple games of different character by now they think more on the assassin cuz people are more familiar then a Templar character cool concept though missed opportunity
If Edward Kenway was alive that moment templer power will be vanished . And Connor set America free
There would be no Connor. It was Haytham being a Templar that sent him looking for precursor sites. When he met Connor's mother. No Templar means no precursor site hunt which means no meeting Connor's mother. Thus Connor wouldn't be born.
Edward wouldn't approve what the assassin's were doing so He would be in haytham's side
I thinking of Assassin’s Creed Rouge that it takes place between the events of Assassin’s Creed 3 when Connor was born.
Bro I love Haytham
We all do!
I'd much rather be a templar than assassin
Nah I rather play as haytham kenway rather than Connor, wish there could be a story that haytham kenway decided to leave the Templar!
11:32 Biggest bruh moment of the 1700’s
Actually there was an opening for Ubisoft to continue Haytham”s story! When he killed Birch it left an opening for Haytham to take over the British Templar Grand Master role and leave Shay or Lee to be the Grand Master of the Colonial Templar’s! That way he would never have been killed by his son!
I like the way william johnson and charles lee is there as well
while i like the templars and assassins, some assassin's are no better, and they have blood on they're hands
Altair at the start of the game broke three rules in the creed.
Al mualim broke the creed he preaches to altair while hording the apple of Eden for himself.
Achilles never took the time to try and calm shay down so shay can tell him what happen, even when shay told him what happen he was about to blame shay for it, he also broke all three of his rules in the creed.
Jacob Frye nearly caused a Great depression in England.
the British assassins covered up the fact jack the ripper was in assassin.
Aveline's master allowed his personal feelings for aveline's mom and his hate for her father to consume him until he took his own life.
even if they redeemed themselves, their actions left Dark marks in the brotherhood.
When i played rouge the one assassin i didn't want to kill as adawale,But the rest were just asses and i never felt bade for killing them.
Charles Lee and William Johnson are in the beginning
So after these events with shay, haythan Kenway goes to Boston
+obsidio osprey
Not sure. He did a lot of stuff during that time frame.
Until haytham gives to Shay the order to search for a precursor site
Assassin creed 3, assassin creed unity and assassin creed syndicate love game
Achilles saves shay's life there. He almost got shot.Achilles was beast by the way he tossed both shay and that other assassin as if they are nothing.
11:53 Achilles
Man i wish they made more AC games where we play as Templars.
It was great to see Haytham in Rogue, but he didn't have the same charisma in Rogue which he had in Assassin's Creed 3.
Ancient comment, but I think they did that intentionally. Haytham’s already everyone’s favorite, he’d steal the show from Shay and just make people even more mad they aren’t playing as him.
@@notenoughgarlic they didn’t do very good at making Shay more interesting despite that.
Haytham is really awesome
I'm honestly confused with the Timeline. On Novel Assassins Creed Forsaken, Haytham looks shocked when he saw a famous Assassins Archilles
But in this game, he is the one who shot Archilles leg.. ( or perhaps he shocked because thats old man still alive? )
And I Assume this event Happened after Haytham found Jenny Kenway & Jim Holden ( Haytham Comrade ) death, but what make me confused in novel its explained Templars Colonial Rite never meet each other for almost 15 years, but in this Game they're meet and attending Shay Templar ceremony.
The books are canon whereas the games are more of a reconstruction of the events from the animus. The jist of what happens in the animus is true, but the finer details are usually off.
@preternatural Hi everyone, just revising what this guy's saying here. It's all incorrect; devs said the books were canon and the games were a reconstruction of events.
@@assassinaria I don’t consider the books canon. Ubi just doesn’t care about the story enough and as we saw Shay crammed into the timeline just to join AC3 to 4.
It sucks how do you spend so much time killing the assassins and upgrading the Templars just for Connor to kill them all
Because they got overconfident and complacent from being unchallenged for so long. And they underestimated Connor as being some two bit half ass assassin because he was an idealist. Connor was a masterful assassin with crazy focus not someone you underestimate, literally cut through them like Swiss cheese 😂
@@oneside9778 hes a man of focus, persistence and a guardian of all things dog. Wait wrong franchise lol
Haytham to Connor: we require no indoctrination from old men
Asking haytham
I want the rivalry between the Assassins and Templars to end thus they would be at peace.
You had a peace in Unity until conspirators from both broke the truce.
I love all the love I’m seeing for Haytham in the comment section.
Haytham took the hidden blade from an assassin he defeated. It was mentioned in th book Assassin's creed forsaken. In AC 3 we will kill that assassin in the opera house. Basically the first assassination in AC3.
I tought he took him from his father
@@babalarassrah nah. It's in the book Assassin's creed forsaken. Haytham for the most part was trained by his father and later by Reginald birch( after he got induced to templar brotherhood). But Edward never got a chance to give him the blades. Edward was killed when haytham was like 12 years old.
But he had hidden blades when he killed that old guy
@@chadstreamsam1700 he defeated that old guy before when he was young.that is when he took it.When haytham meets the old person again they already knew each other..haytham was trained by both edward and the templars, that is why he had superior skills like shay...
@@chadstreamsam1700 and ironically the old guy was a good friend and comrade of his father Edward Kenway
0:02 Charles Lee is just behind Gist! 😨😨😨😧😧😧
Imagine how sad is for Adewale to fighting the son of his best pal.
One thing I don’t get is how quickly haytham’s hair changes because lee and Johnson look the same in this and when Connor was an assassin but haytham’s hair was black in this and then grey in 3
Do you know that haytham's father edward kenway the main protagonist of assassin's creed black flag was actually killed in 1735
Shay said, "bad news, the assasins found a way to get the precursor box to work", like he wasn't a participatory in that when he was an assasin 😅😅🤣
Haytham, the love of my life👑❤️🥹
"Haytham Kenway!"
"Adéwalé."
"YEAH!"
Haytham and Shay , are more father and son then conar
I really love haytham but he seems to like killing a little to much
Anyone else agree?
Johnny Hutchcraft kinda have to when u fight a group called the ASSASSINS whose whole basis is murder
Edward was killed in front of him. He's not taking any chances LMAO
The Best Templar
haythem was in ac 3 ,4 ,and rogue
Ah yes templars, actual good guys in the series.
Both Assassin’s and Templar’s had they’re ups and downs. But generally It’s a matter of perspective really
Both factions have good people and evil people within their ranks
If Haytham was asked about why he remained in the Order despite all the crap he was put through, his answer would be:
"Because is the only thing I know for real."(even if he doesn't want to admit it)
siriously, who is the templar keep refering as the father of understanding, are they talking about God or Jesus or Cain?
I think it's supposed to be a metaphor, nothing more (something like the personification of templar's creed. It doesn't exist, it's just an idea that reminds real templars what they are fighting for). After all, both Templars and Assassins are atheists (because they know that any "miracle" can be explained with "it was the piece of Eden" in their universe), so it definitely cannot be God.
+marlice hakurei +David Šindler
I wish I knew the answer and hopefully, it's something that will be revealed. My current guess is Aita. From what we've seen of the Sages, they seem to be in line with the Templars in many ways.
Are you asking for reason or meaning in a pseudo religious community?^^
Ubisoft keeps changing continuity, it used to be a phrase like "may the force be with you" but in later games it is established that there is a figure known as the guardian of the cross who was the grand master of earth, but the movie then changed cannon and replaced the guardian with a council of elders so the father of understanding went back to being a phrase. In AC2 as you mentioned it says that the first Templar was Cain so he could be the father but ubisoft changed the lore in AC origins by making the Templar origin in 49 bc, finally they did give us an origin to the phrase by saying that Caesar is the father of understanding. its complicated
Not exactly, many are irreligious but some are deists.
if you want Haytham to have his own game sign here...
Credit to Goku Son for starting the petition
www.change.org/p/ubisoft-would-you-like-to-an-ac-spin-off-game-about-haytham-kenway
Even though Haytham was a great character to play, he was a templar, would have been better if he was an assassin, his assassin outfit would have looked awesome.
Also if you wanted to play as a templar then the game would be called templars creed instead of assassins creed.
its shame there isnt any templar's order game, i am a templar believer so i will be really happy if there is such game:D
marlice hakurei Me too, but rogue is probably going ti be the closest we'll get inless more people sign the petition
Thomas Athey he already got part in AC3 and it included enough
Haytham is an interesting character but god people try and defend him he's a barbarian
He is if you view him as a villain. Both Templars and assassins sure do love killing people.
Haytham as signed your dead shoot the Aquilles leg.
I liked Shay's original character, but it died along with his hood and facial hair
