On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. Feels similar to stuff I’ve been told the old hard-wing Phantoms could do, such as a maneuver thst made the Phantom temporarily depart flight to let a bogey overshoot. Crazy stuff all around

@@shaunmacdonald8338 the F15 was designed as a BVR air superiority fighter to counter the soviet MiG-25. While it can dogfight, its much better at taking down targets from range.
Great example of how even though the Eagle was dominating the fights almost the entire time, creativity and surprises are huge advantages and outthinking your opponent will get a much more assured victory despite the aircraft’s shortcomings

hey GS, if you ever run out of video ideas, something i'd love to see is the Growling Sidewinder Guide to XYZ - where XYZ are the jets that you fly. and the purpose of that tutorial series is a SUPER FAST guide to getting in the jet and doing BVR and BFM as you primarily do on the channel. for some of us, the jets can seem really overwhelming when you consider all the systems and subsystems. but it seems to me that for dogfighting, you only focus on a very few things and it would be helpful to us if you show us how you are able to fly virtually everything.

Given that the F-15 can fly with a wing missing, at the end you were correct that what you almost hit was the "whole aircraft" since that's airworthy on its own.

I really like the fight, but 2 things, first you only equipped magic II, not magic II ddm, with allows the mirage to detect missile launches, 2nd, when you have radar lock but no tone, try 'magic slave' button , it will basically tell the magic II to look for a IR signature at where the radar is looking, which could have helped you at 1:45.
magic slave and ddm are powerful and it's a bummer to you not use them.

I watched an interview with an Eagle driver at red flag. Got cocky and told a 2000 pilot he would beat him guns only… high altitude…. One circle… They did it and the eagle driver said after about 20 seconds he realized he made a horrible mistake.

Ancient way to do Cobra it seems. Really - it stops you in the air, not very useful and puts you in awkward position, but sometimes the only thing that can save your ass is using it.
