    On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
    If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    1:38 You're right. Stealth isn't being invisible (remember the F-117 in Serbia) but hard to have a lock. So yes, they can see you with radars from the 40s (the Chain Home in England could have detected a stealth fighter) but they can only shoot at you at close range

    • @durandil
      @durandil ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I wouldn't fight at low altitude, you lost all the benefits of stealth. If you fly high, even if the S-400 can see you, he can't shoot at you except if you are very close. Against the Su-35, you can shoot your AMRAAMs at long range, and you enemy can't shoot back because he has no lock.
      When you fly low, you have to come closer to the enemy, at a range where he can have a lock. Luckily for you, you had these hills but what if you hadn't ?

    They can see it as in with long wave non targeting radar, which just means they can scramble some keys to intercept but they can’t lock onto the F22 with a high frequency targeting radar.
    I have heard they’re trying to convince a low and high frequency system together though to have a higher probability of a weapons grade track.

    • @jonathanpfeffer3716
      @jonathanpfeffer3716 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use data from a low frequency radar to sector scan an area of space with a high frequency radar (as opposed to blanket scanning across its range) which would increase the detection range, not by that much, but maybe by enough to help.

    Just wondering... if the stealth of the F-22 is best from the front, as I've heard it said, it is possible that you might use it to your advantage by going head-to-head with the Sukoi and blowing him out of the sky BEFORE he can get a lock on you? His AWACS may be able to point him at you, but can it guide his missiles?

    Flanker made a mistake. He pushed you into the mountains and he should have retreated back towards SAM site and pull you back to the open

    • @GrowlingSidewinder
      @GrowlingSidewinder  ปีที่แล้ว

      correct, but also, I wouldn't have gone too far into the open I would have been forced to go home without a kill, but ya he'd at least be alive, and he would have defended his air space and forced me out with nothing to show for it, so he would have actually won.

    When going cold, is that simply disengaging or is is also killing the afterburner or engines entirely to limit your heat signature for incoming enemy missiles?

    Have you ever set up a test range with each checkpoint being progressively further into s-400 threat rings and just super cruise at 40k feet and see how long it takes before the s-400 hits you?

    Was just watching a few F22s and F16s at Nellis AFB yesterday. Holy Jesus the F22s are soooooooooooo much louder than the f16s and waaaaaay lower pitch than DCS demsontrates.

    would love to see a scenario like this one but with a f-35 instead. It would be a good contrast on the two platforms ability to operate solo on a mission against superior enemy forces.

    When trying to maintain a certain altitude at super sonic speed; does the pilot or auto pilot have to constantly pitch downward to maintain said altitude?

    Almost any country can see a stealth fighter jet, stealth fighters are stealthiest in the high frequency tracking/locking radar but not as stealthy in the low frequency search radar. Being tracked and locked was prioritized over being seen

    Imagine if you had a super long distance missile that could push the opposition defensive from a long way away. You could keep the opponent defensive all the time and keep pushing them with fighter aircraft.. Maybe fired from a larger aircraft further back.

    • @stinkyfungus

      The F35 can do some pretty nifty buck rogers ECM shit that F22 cannot.
