I recognize that this is 4 years ago, but I've been playing this game recently and I absolutely love it, but I'm massively under-leveled when it comes to crafting complete buildings. I've already watched a couple of your videos, and I have to say, your voices is beautiful and you explain things super well. Thank you for uploading these videos! I'm excited to level-up my building skills!
Oh man, I would love to see this house finished, it looks really good so far! Also just want to say thanks, I usually struggle planning out my builds, so it was nice seeing how other people did it :D
I've had really good success planing out rooms and town layouts using handrails and the door that's just a floor mat. I find it very helpful to find the shape of a building in relation to others and is a great way to see how you can split up a space or location into multiple places. Plus this is helpful because it's enough to make a room where ever handrails are with the mat door, and the handrails are destroyed with 1 hit and don't require 2 tall to be a room so you can run through and jump over the walls easily during planning
I just had a thought while you were designing this, but to have 4 height clearance for next floor could mean a slab for ceiling of lower floor. Something I usually think of when making a house is floor and ceiling. At times though the floor of upper level works, however there are times where it makes look even more distinguished & separate. I have a similar way of building thought process, although done in a slight different way and order. I don't usually figure the walls until after I have the shape; which I just use single blocks for layout like a connect the dot grid. Visualizing in my head how I want the shape of interior. Good tips in thought you have here, and quite helpful insight. :)
Lol " i need to sleep" sorry that made me laugh.. yeah definitely finish the house buddy. And honestly its your channel do whatever videos you feel to do, however. I'm glad you're still doing these videos for people who have no interest in Pokémon or that duck game thing. Keep up the awesome!
New to your videos and i am making my way through the back catalogue! Love every one i have watched so far, keep up the great work 👌 Plus... You NEED to show us this house finished
This was really helpful! Due to the rather limited space of the towns you're helping in the main story, I felt like I had to keep things small and simple, but then I beat the game, and I've yet to break that habit... 😅 And this has been very helpful in guiding me on how to break said habit. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate that Shaun the Sheep gave 3 Appreciation Points at 3:06?
Never thought about this! I'm wondering if one could use those colored chalk blocks. For example, red for the actual outline of the house, blue for floors and ceiling (to make sure theres enough height space), and yellow for furniture placememts and such.
Hey Ben, all of your videos are great and I think it's good that you branch off and do other videos as well, it will help grow your channel. I would like to see a castle build from you. Something like the breath of the wild Hyrule castle and castle town, or a recreation of a dragon quest town Castle.
Thank you very much :) I've made one some time ago in DQB1, maybe that's something for you, until I find time to make on in DQB2 th-cam.com/video/WZu3J6HaIY8/w-d-xo.html
Not sure if you saw the game is being released on steam. I can see all the mods that going to be made for this. I might be able to finally have Knight Aberrant and its variants as a Followers. Heck maybe we can have ranged attacks and usable spells now with mods. Thinking of that, i also see the quality of life mods aswell.
I've always loved you videos since DQB1 days. I was wondering if you could do some smaller tutorials for simple houses. I've restarted a playthrough of DQB2, but I want to make a nice base in Furrowfield. Problem is I'm not exactly creative enough to make anything outside of dull box houses. I'd love to see some simple base ideas/housing ideas with the supplies given for each of the island stages.

P.S. really long detailed comment lol bought this game over a year ago and have been so hooked on it ever since that I’ve done 2 full play throughs now working on 100% competing It
Hey Ben! It's been a while since I have commented on a video. Mostly because there was this glitch thing where I couldn't comment, edit, or delete anything. ANYWAYS, question for the day. I made a new switch account thing because I wanted to play through dqb2 again, and I finally finished it! However, I want to make a sea food restaurant. And I want to make the superb smoked salmon, but I put the whopping great king salmon in, and I just got the best fish stick. Do you know how to actually make the smoked salmon?
I'm making the original Legend of Zelda nes map. I currently have 10% completed. I'm making the entire overworld map and the dungeons to go with it. Wanna help?
Cool video. My only problem with this game is I get all these good ideas in my head then I go on my file and I'm overwhelmed n don't know where to start or bring my plans to fruition lol.. edit: it's not the games problem it's my problem baha
Ben, what do you do for a career outside of TH-cam? You always have a peculiar eye when it comes to this kind of construction, I would have assumed you must have went to school for architecture or at least art.
9:50 do you mean like a "Green House"? or Maybe a "Sun Room"? "Winter Garden" sounds like a Green House (A place where you could grow plants indoors safe from outdoor climate), but with it is connected to the house makes it sound more like a Sun Room (Which is like a sitting area, usually connected to an outdoor garden, surrounded by windows to let the sun light in and give you nice views of nature).
As soon as there are more than around 128 gratitude hearts lying around, every newly generated one will make an older one disappear and that one will automatically get added to your total points :)

The way you build is interesting but not made for me. I'd much rather finish the first floor entirely with the appropriate materials before going to the next. Also, I always place the furniture at the very end of the project. If I could publish my buildings online, I would make you visit the magnificent castle I built.
C'mon, of course we want to see you finish it!
Yeah! I think we would love to see the finished house! It looks like it'll be very nice.

An indoor greenhouse is sometimes called a conservatory or sun room. Nice video, I like the flow.
Ahh good to know. Thank you :)

Winter garden would be like a greenhouse is the word you were looking for :)
At 9:57 I think the word you were looking for was *greenhouse*.
a conservatory

Had to come to the newest dragon quest builders video to say holy crap it's coming to steam on pc.
Bob Ross of Dragon Quest Builders
I enjoyed the quack laughing and the bazingas from the the untitled goose game.
BenXC: “I’m just gonna make a small couch” and makes a four seater couch.😂
Yea I have never ever been first
Edit: I love your videos
Other edit: you really need a balcony
Looks good ! - maybe add a terrace on the back for the master bedroom :)
Also a good idea :)
Finish the house!!
Thanks for this video, Ben! Great tips. Now maybe my houses won't all be square boxes. '^_^ Please do finish it!
Okay I'll see what I can do :)
I just built a 8X8 with a small room for a crapper and put beds, a table and fire pit in for cooking then cap it off with a roof
Yes please finish it
thanks for taking the time to do this video :D
Please do more vids on dqb2 I just got it I know I’m late for the party

Hey Tiger! Welcome back :) yeah, you need to make it in the casket/barrel. I think all you need is the salmon in there, but it will take some time.
Schöne Idee!
Yes finish the house :D
I'm making the original Legend of Zelda nes map. I currently have 10% completed. I'm making the entire overworld map and the dungeons to go with it. Wanna help?

If it can be modded, I think I will :)
I put decorations out then build the room or house around it
Do you have a video on how you did the farm?
Just look for "DQB2 Barn" if that's the one you meant :)

Oh okay sorry and thank u
No planning to see here. The tips on building practices are welcome though.
Hey Ben, als größeres Projekt hätte ich als Idee noch das Schloss aus Super Mario 64 :)
Can you do a modern house build
Maybe I will :)
Can do you do a small castle too?
Winter garden in English: sunroom or lanai
Tutorials in German too please.
That would be a sun room
