- Finally a new "How to build"-video - this time a big traditional house from Japan! Of course complete with cozy rooms and furniture while trying the new japanese style blocks from the first DLC! I hope you like what I have build there. :)

Some tricks for Japan style homes :)
You can use the shelf style blocks that join together to make the runners the doors run on.
(You place the edge blocks under the corner edges of the walls so that the wood runners appear over the door bottoms)
You can use the wood slat wall to make rural rustic windows
I think you can use the magnet blocks to disguise the bottom of doors to turn the top lattice into windows, I know you can inset those doors into the floor to make sliding floor window screens.
Making a floor hearth out of a brick BBQ, same can be done with the hot water bathtub (best to face the oven side out so it looks like you start the fire outside) if you dig down one block to sink it into the floor.
A lot of the Japanese tubers got real excited and built a lot of Japan houses once the 1st dlc came out ☺ and many have short how-too's which I watched while waiting for your stuff 😊

There are three main people I watch for DQB2 Japanese building.
Pon-p (who often you will see in top votes for build pics) ChiDore and yupon I think the name is. The last user is the one that just did the festival street.
So many builds to be inspired by 😀 but I sub to you because you made the game funny when I have only the most basic understanding of what's going on in Japanese lol.

Its a bit like sharing old sims1 stuff. I like how it makes people happy to get new stuff. I can't build right now as I don't have the game yet. But I can share links to stuff so when we CAN build, we have a head start on tricks 😁
Did you know that you can build a fish tank with n wooden edges? If you make your window glass one block bigger than the actual size of the tank, then break off each edge per side, add water it should look like an edgeless all glass tank ☺

I tried yesterday to build one of these houses, but I lacked the materials, so I ended up building a very cozy one-man prison. Awesome job, man.
As odd as it may sound this is the first I'm really seeing dqb2's mechanics and i gotta say I'm liking how they seem to have improved in every way mechanically compared to dqb1
super excited to play the game in English so I can understand the dialogue and learn if they maintained the quality in that degree as well

Very nice! You can have a small pond on the garden and have some koi swim around! You can also use those deer scare things as well as some bamboo here and there! And of course, the bathroom should be a Japanese themed one! And where else do you look for references than the Japanese players? Keep those videos coming, Ben!
I always use google image search as reference and then I slab them together in my head, make a little floorplan and start building. sometimes I need a pause and look at images again :)

And this is the style I sort of build in constantly. Although I look at a lot of Asian architecture from China, Japan, and some of the other nations in the Eastern Culture. Although I usually look at the eras where those buildings were more prominent or are still standing. Of course I add my own creative twist or take on the building style. :)
I'd say you did well, and made it quite practical. It is nice seeing how others go about building. Always enjoying for more inspiration.

Bathing area and toilet are usually 2 different rooms. The hallway might have been better 1 or 2 blocks wider so you put something like what you did with the veranda to make it look like a shelf so foot wear is out the way of the door
Yeah I think I would have also prefered to make it a big bigger but I wanted to also work with the space I have available. Just look at it like a basic japanese house. You can add whatever you want when you build one yourself :)
I try the demo a couple days ago! I was wondering what can be build in this game, I love Minecraft as well but the graphics in this game are beautiful without any modding!

The Buildnoculars (He calls it the Builder's Eye in the Japanese Videos), it's the last item you get from completing ALL the Tablet Targets on the Isle of Awakening. (Which requires beating the main storyline.)

Hi I cant seem to find an answer for this anywhere. Do you know if we can plant sakura trees on our island? How do we get them from the DLC? Also are the DLC items you can only build after playing the main story lines? I've completed Farrowfeilds but I cant seem to find any of the materials to make the white walls or clothing form the Hotto DLC.
You'll find sakura trees on the second material island, there they'll drop some petals which you can cook to make sakura seeds.
DLCs are unlocked after a week of release. The reason Switch owners already can do it is because they messed up on Nintendos side.

Thank you very much! Most of the blocks are from the "hotto stuff pack" DLC for the game. Also the banded block.
Ty for the reply. Just bought all dlc on ps4 2 days ago and pulled an all nighter to fully replicate. Divided the backyard with a small garden and a pool of paradise. Must say it was a chore without the buildnoculars i unlocked 4h ago and house was done before that. Thx for the guide

Nice video! Your creations are beautiful. Do you get unlimited access to materials in the free mode? Do you get them all unlocked from the beginning? I love building but I didn't like collecting everything again in the free mode from the first game.
You'll unlock different kinds of unlimited ressources by clearing the explorer's shores

I'm not Ben but I can answer that as I have the same armor. It's the Spiked Armour (that's the exact item name) which becomes available in the postgame.

I’m at a loss, I can’t build like I’ve seen on other players islands , I’m in awe but also a little beaten cos I don’t seem to have that kind of imagination, oh oh
Building things in the story mode is a nightmare. Trying to build roof tops or honestly anything other than a 2 block high wall is hair pulling rage.
Really wished u wouldn't fast fowared and cut scenes out. I need to count blocks to rebuild your creation.
You can use the builders pencil (unlocks after completing around 20-25 stone tablet challenges) to copy stuff in DQB2. Just visit my island (DQB2-Builder-ID: jScDDm2i6s) from the noticeboard and copy it ;)
