I managed to get the game, beat the story and finished all the tablet targets. Now I can finally watch your videos. :D I love using the Buildnoculars. They make things so much easier. I'll be making good use out of them, for sure. btw. If you place a Ward of Erdrick down into an area outside the three main ones, like at the Temple. It'll stop enemies from spawning on the whole island.

I think I've watched the whole channel waiting for my switch to come back from the war (aka repairs XD). Now I have SO MANY new ideas for my island, and a notebook full of notes (and links in case I forget how to implement them while actually building...). You can also use the look up and down with the L1 and L2 if your on ps4 or L and ZL if your on switch.With the Transform-o-trowel if you look down only the bottom blocks change not the floor blocks then just use the neutral or up look depending on the level your on and use it.Then only the top blocks with be placed. I found it way less time consuming then having to place them, then break them and rinse and repeat the process just though this might be helpful to people well keep up the good work Ben!!! 👍
Ben, all you have to do is place a Ward of Erdrick circle at Hairy Hermits place on top of the mountain to stop all creatures from spawning, ghosts included. A good idea for when recording videos on building tutorials.
I'll be able to build everything so fast with those things. I love that they added it to the game. They added tons of ways to make building and destroying easier! Thank you square enix 👍🏻
Great info! I have issues with those “half blocks” but I love using them. The buildnoculars are fantastic, and combining them with the swap tool has saved me so much time on my big builds!
I realy wish Buildnoculars were up sooner as its such a timesaver. I am building up a new island now from scratch and it takes me 3/4 less time to do it.

I feel the same about corner window placement and foundation under the door. I now anticipate getting the buildnoculars.
It's weird how little is actually required out of the player beyond the most obvious basics for the Platinum... Like, I got mine a few weeks ago and I feel like I was just getting started with the game! I hadn't even touched a single one of the DLC islands yet! I guess it's good that they didn't make it too grindy, and the story mode of the game is already pretty long, but it just felt odd to have so much still left to do when my PS4 suddenly told me I'm a master.

In addition to size and material, normal Appliances also contribute notably to fanciness. You can cut down on gold a lot by adding fancy chairs, tables, and decorations, especially in combination. For those who want to make a normal room fancy. ...Did I see that right? You kept the vanilla pyramid? Sentimental value or just no idea what to do with it yet?
@@BenXC I went for a "Desert Gold" theme, doing a lot with water. Pools, spas, waterfalls and cascades. And of course gold, making it into a glittery Vegas-style attraction. It's nice to have an excuse for using all that purple dye in combination with gold and marble. The main attraction will be the (yet to be built) aquarium/night club combo called "wet beauties" in the cellar, but there's three more double floor-sized levels to fill after I stacked that reverse pyramid on top of the first. I have only managed two thirds of the ground level yet... How do people not burn out doing those even bigger builds?
Do you know if theres any hidden challenge in every chapter? In second chapter (the mines) I cooked a lot of different recipes, and when back to Island Of Awakening after completed that chapter, theres a message saying I completed some bonus challenge of cooking all food. I dont remember what they said because I keep clicking X (ps4), but I completed 2 challenge (dont remember the other one)
Those are just items that unlock after certain objectives are finished. They are no secret as what you must do to unlock them is blatantly visible in the builders workbench.

Gestern war ich auf der Insel des Tages und sah, dass diese Person mein Bild als Favorit einspeicherte und im Bilderrahmen auf derer Insel ausstellte. Da hätte ich auch gerne mal Kontakt aufgenommen ^.^

I have to ask a question. I'm on the PS4 version and I haven't downloaded any of the dlc yet. If I do download dlc will I need an internet connection at all times to be able to use said dlc? it's just I've had issues in the past where having dlc and no internet connection has actually locked me out from playing the full game full stop. P.S. I never actually use multiplayer, I only play by myself.
I usually use sand as "helper" block... since i can destroy it using sword and not destroying any other block around it accidentally... i have not unlock buildnocular yet though... so i wonder does the sword swing works using buildnocular?
Ben ! Do you know that the blocks under the walls count for the fancyness as well so you coild have put gold floor tiles to to gain more fancyness for less golden braziers Also 1st person mode is really useful to destroy blocks far away or the braziers when you're on it

I love the Dragon Quest series and i love this game, but the disappointing and frustrating part of the game is getting the most useful and helpful tool in the game which is the Buildnoculars. In which you can only get once you completed all Target Tablets. It WOULD have greatly helped in building your island early on, but sadly no, in my case i got burned out in the process in doing the target tablets. Once i got the item it felt really disappointing and lackluster as i dont need it anymore as i was already fed up with the game at that point.
THERES A WAY TO MAKE THE MONSTERS NOT SPAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's in the decorations category of the big crafting table I believe. It's the blue round floor seal I can't remember what it's called but I was building my castle and placed it down and it said "no monsters will spawn"
The best tip I found was to make 50 books, place them down anywhere so you learn how to make another type of book (forgot its name), make a bunch of the new books, and then put them up for sale in your shop. They sold faster than other items I tried.
An easy way to do it and get the 200 items sold quickly: one seller is enough for each shop. Sell naughty books & candies at the items shop and swords at the weapons shop (the best swords you can afford). Piece of cake. You just have to wait. One thing that seems really important: build your shops near places where your people go often. Not too far or they won't have time to reach your shops.
"Wood is weak and will never support the strength of stone." Tell that to the people who built Amsterdam. Wooden poles support most of the city structure because it's been built on top of a swampy peat bog. Underneath a layer of about 10 meters of peat is the actual solid ground supporting it, but to reach that low, they used wooden poles to make sure the buildings don't sink into the ground. Why wood? Because it stays intact under water. It doesn't erode or rot away because there's no oxygen down there. This is also why the government of Amsterdam needs to make sure that the ground moisture content remains above a certain level, because if it becomes too dry, the poles might rot away after all. This has been your fun architecture/infrastructure fact of the day.

L’écran est trop petit et le jeu est trop mal fait … trop de bugs. Je regrette d’avoir joué sur switch. Je jouerai à DQB2 sur PS4 plus tard, ce sera plus jouable.

u can also set bombs with buidnoculars, which is how i took down my pyramid and turned out to be more fun to do

I prefer using standard view to place single-block lines with the trovel. Just look down and place.

The DLCs just unlock stuff which is already in the game (you just can't see it/use it) so you should be fine ;)

Where you get tablet targets, I'm noob, I just finished the game and still following your guide to get the trophies. Is this vita version?
In each area of the Isle of Awakening there’s a tablet thing at each fast travel point. Click it and you can see the tablet targets.

The tree stomp bench has the disfigured throne to make a throne again

Just mine a bunch of connectable blocks with the ultimallet thats what I do to make it easier
Normally I separate them with the stickler's sifter, but I wanted to do it quick and dirty :)

My Island looks like a dump. The pyramide is pretty damaged after i used the golem. I plan to remake the whole Island soon.

Oh, and you can build your shops anywhere, it doesn't have to be near the pyramid. I built my shops in my gardens.
