Chaos renegades/pact is definitely my favorite team.
I hope they finally show in the digital format with BB3
It was an utter travesty that they weren’t in BB2!!
I don’t think we ever will. Too much work to do mutations on all the models.
@@Parsleybill If both Skaven and Chaos Chosen teams are in the game already, the only players that need mutations added are Human Lino, Basic Goblin (will also go for the Underworld), Orc and Dark Elf.
Which isn't that much.
I hope you are right. I think ogre and thrower also.
@@Parsleybill Chaos Ogre is actually an option in 2020 Chaos Chosen team (along with Minotaur and Troll).
Thrower can easily just reuse the mutations from a lino.

5 linemen
1 orc & 1 goblin
1 dark elf
1 thrower
1 ogre
1 rat ogre
3 rerolls

Thanks for the review! I'm gonna start a new league with this gang for first time... I donno if its OK or not, but this is my personal attempt to be original in this roaster: 6 Renegade Human Lineman + 1 Renegade Skaven + 1 Renegade Orc + 1 Renegade Dark Elf + 1 Minotaur + 1 Rat Ogre. I'm usually play with dark elves, also Amazons, so the main idea is to use their core tactics with the Human Linemans supported by the orc (basically) I'm agree with you and willing to play with this 2BG in an exotic way, no to be in the trenches, but to stay in second line and act as a cavalry charge. The goal is to be "relax" with the fails of activation of this beasts in this way...

I'm excited to try out the renegades, I'm currently painting up my team out of warcry and shadespire models I no longer had a need for. I'll probably go for the first list as I want to use my new thrower I've kitbashed.
Even though the thrower has Animosity... it’s a very useful Positional! Ohh that team sounds good 😁😁

I’ve got a half build / painted team from a while back, but at some point will likely add new minis for the Thrower and Dark Elf. Since I like to add mutations to my Chaos minis, any suggestions on good Mutation skill picks for those two?
Most excellent! The Dark Elf benefits from Two Heads (+1 to dodging) or Big Hand (ignores TZs for pick ups - so 2+ forever!), I’m not sure about the Thrower... Extra Arms maybe? For that 2+ pick up as well? 🤔 Actually Extra Arms on the DE would help with catching too!

I just started a season with my Renegade team and my initial roster is:
1 minotaur 150
1 Ogre 140
1 Rat ogre 150
1 Orc 50
1 Dark Elf 75
1 Goblin 40
1 Skaven 50
4 Lineman 200
2 RR 140
For a 995 TV.
The first game has been vs humans and I won 2-0 causing 3 injuries.
I must say the rat ogre was an absolute beast, having the orc stucked on her, never lost any action and caused 2 injuries and 3 KO.
I'm not able to see any scenario where I would choose a troll over the RO.

Hey Fran! Welcome to Blood Bowl!
For Chaos Renegades the Thrower is technically a "Human Thrower", but the great thing about Blood Bowl is as long as a miniature is labelled clearly and looks different enough from the rest of the team you'll be able to use your favourite Thrower model!
That said, the Human Thrower mini really looks the part!
Liking the big three building here, just so I don't have to have another troll in a team!

I have every spare mini except for a Dark Elf.
I was surprised that this team maintained it's no-starting-skills status, when the new league redrafting rules hit them the hardest, and Marauders are now basically just regular human linemen so there isn't even a similar potential that they previously had.
I think their new niche is that, with the lack of Khemri, Chaos Renegades are now the only choice for multiple big guys (okay, Undead exist if you want to be competitive, but just two doesn't count). And unlike Khemri, they come with an AG2+ ball-handler! And a MA7 rat you develop into your reliable killer (with one double for MB) as your other positional to carry from season to season.
So I'm definitely looking at the 3 big guys approach as the only option, or why else even play this team. And I really don't see a reason to take the Thrower when he doesn't come with Sure Hands, because when you're spending an extra +25k to buy him, him being able to get Leader doesn't look like as much value.
Why prefer the orc with aminosity rather than another human lineman in your teams?
Because they come with AV 10+ and, if the Orc does his job properly, he'll never get any where near the ball to make animosity a factor. The Orc's job is to sit on the line of scrimmage and be punched!

I have been flirting with the idea of this team after I have run a Chaos Dwarfs team.
I think the Rat Ogre might be the better choice, over the otherwise glorious, Mino...
Plus I would struggle not to pack in a Troll because, well why not...?

@@BoneheadPodcast I struggle to leave my love of Trolls behind, as for a Mino, I converted and old metal Morg for a tournament a couple of years ago into a Mino, or to give him his new name Minothrog! At that tourney I won one game out of four with a Chaos team, loads of Beasties and a full rack of four Blockers, so not bad for my first time at a tournament, especially as I was up too late to give the team their skills for the first two games. 😂

@@BoneheadPodcast I highly recommend attending Borak Bowl, it gives a new skill to further add to your roster with each successive game bestowed on the teams by Lord Borak himself. It was a great introduction of the tournament scene.
