Lizards are great to begin with, but when you start coming up against Claw+MB and Tackle they start to have problems.
As soon as the other level up you are stuck with block, and if you are not lucky with leveling up you don’t have a proper ball carrier. If you get doubles though things change
One "bad thing" of the head coach hand book is the team roster. Most of them are wrong. You can download them (all correct) from gw website anyway.

That's so funny, Matt! Canned food, a respirator, and TP in the background! Too funny, and good content. I did BB in the 1st edition, I wanted to try it out again, this helped.

This. It's on sale constantly with all teams in the legendary edition, and the game does your rolls and everything for you. All for like $8.

I think I did well playing blood bowl. Last sunday I played the game using video call. We played using two pitches simultaniously in use moving both sets of miniatures.
Matt, what happened to Mordheim? I liked your campaign you did with that. Did GW stop making it?
I used to play BB years ago and recently started to get back into it. So confused about all of that stuff. If I hadn't known the game from before, I would probably have given up.

Hello! I hope you haven't bought anything yet. the new Blood Bowl edition will come out literally next month, with revised rules and stats, so it would make all of this irrelevant if you want to start out fresh. Of course, if you want to stick to 2016's ruleset then this is still helpful, but as a new player I recommend you wait for the new starter, which includes 2 complete teams to boot.

Any recommendations on pitches that are more like mats? I found a few online but not sure if there are "better" ones?

I still do not have the 2016 starter set, although I do have a copy of my 1993 version, hasn't prevented me from (well before this virus pandemic) playing in both league and tournament play. Learning, if you join and established league, can become communal.

Can anyone answer? Where should I buy a pitch separately? I go online and I see a lot of outdated websites from Europe and such that sell them should I buy from there? I don’t want to buy the starter set to just get a pitch so I was wondering if anyone has recommendations.
If your favorite web store or local hobby store doesn’t have them, then sites like eBay tend to have them. Just be prepared to shop around, pitches go from $35 to $70. If you’re just going for the box set pitch, then a few 2nd hand copies pop up from time to time. Otherwise there’s 3rd party pitches at Comixininos and other popular proxy BB sites

There are fantastic neoprene pitches with included dugouts, reserves boxes, scatter templates and pretty much everything you will need for reference built right into mat. Check out maelstrom mats. Cant recommend enough.

Is the starter and all of this worth it with the new edition coming out? Are the rules going to be obsolete soon?
Have they updated the handbook now? I know when it came out it was riddled with mistakes

Or you could just buy the Blood Bowl Computer game which is an exact port of the board game. Play with friends during the lockdown.

Where do you get the head coaches hand book and is it still available?
Games Workshop (or a store that sells GW products), and yes it is. It's a relatively new product.

It's quite easy really: download the NAF rules and buy a team from the many independent companies. Mainly, bypass all of the GW money milking stuff.
