yeah visual wise 4th stage has gotta be one of the best, only rivaled by the legend movies imho story wise, though, it's pretty weak compared to the previous stages
@@haizalizwan3787 the Iroha jump is totally unrealistic and it has been waaay proven even in a mere SIM that is totally impossible to do it without crashing, loose control, roll over or half destroy your car, no matter what, so guess what would happen in real life if one mad head ever tries it out... 😅

I prefer Takumi's overtake on Daiki(?) because of those subtle clues that Takumi braked later and released earlier than Daiki who apparently specializes in braking.
I never noticed on my first watch how Keisuke turns away because the Skyline got to the cone first, pretty much making it his right to the inside line. That's some proper racing etiquette.
For you to fully send in your thick R34 into an overtake and do a u-turn drift without hitting the rock wall, the guard rail, and your opponent's car has to be the most daring thing you've ever done
Yup, and the race against Toshiya (god hand) with even Ryosuke making the connection to Shingo (duct tape death match). Both races felt like huge call backs to the Miyogi Night Kids and I loved that
Out of all the battles Takumi won by luck, God Hand was the least bullshit one. For one, him breaking his suspention was bad luck, so it kinda cancels out the good luck at the end. For two, being able to win a battle of attrition is a kind of skill. For three, GH not being able to do 8 rounds (plus going back to the start point after every round) is a reasonable pack-in-parcel for someone his age. And his age is also the reason he has enough experience to be such an amazing racer, so it checks out. At the very least, it's better than defeat by a cat or some fucking leaves.

It'd be reasonable to believe that even Bunta knows the two Gods. They're about the same age, so he should've raced them when he was younger, unless he just happened to skip by such talented racers.

Almost equal in HP, the transmission difference made the weight of the GT-R being competitive against the FD. Love it. Unlike Takumi, as much as I like seeing Takumi win most of them are highly unlikely. Maybe, after the engine swap but before that there's just no way.

Godfoot hated his R33 GT-R apparently. If he used his R32 GT-R that had over 10 million yen invested into it, Keisuke wouldn't stand a chance. Considering Keisuke couldn't touch Koso Hoshino's R32 time nor get close to it.
I showed this anime to my mom whos into cars. And we started bonding watching this with pur love for cars. I remember when we first saw this scene and we just looked at eachother with our hairs standing standing on end and both just went HOLY SHIT😂
It was in this race, Keisuke surpassed Takumi. First, this race had an up hill and down hill component. Takumi doesn't really race up hill, so Keisuke is already more versatile. Second, with respect to their opponents, Takumi Struggled with God hand and couldn't adapt. It was only after God hand threw up was Takumi able to win. Third, Keisuke adapted much quicker and whilst using most of the techniques he learned over the other races, he was able to come back and utilize every part of his FD, much like how Ryosuke uses all parts of his FC. Also, in Stage 5, all of Keisuke's races were easy. He put in all the hard work and put himself in another level. Takumi struggled much more. Keisuke is a legend for that.
God Foot had to risk it because he knew he would be done for if a third run was needed.. the old man was a tiny bit quicker than Keisuke and the latter had to yield. Although, I think God Foot would destroy Keisuke if the race was only uphill, like how God Hand was bullying Takumi until plot armor kicked in.. Instead of the two-way he insisted to give Keisuke's lighter FD a chance. The two middle-aged men are the second and third best drivers in Initial D, and the best driver is also a middle-aged man.

It is so retrospective because this is the same song (back on the rocks) they use for stage 1 when the GTR 32 comes, now there is the R 34.
And if you go further back, it was the song used by Nissan when they made tv comercials for the R31

The god foot god hand race was the highlight of initial d for me. Except how takumi won but I don't care too much

IMO from fourth stage onwards, keisuke had better races than takumi did. All takumi had was plot armor through and through
