When I was younger, all I saw was a evil/bad man like Shingo just trying to take Ryosuke out. As mature adult, I saw a broken man that needed help and love. The near death experience brought enlightenment that awoken and saved Shinigami. He was finally able to wash away the hate and grudge and move on. This is one of the hardest, but best thing a human can do; forgive.
I'm glad you included the scene where the GT-R refuses to use the emergency road on the left side. I've seen so many edits where it's not included and they just cut straight to the RX7 hitting the brakes.

Imagine shingo’s death match with just a bit of internal monologue from him. Would be genuinely tense.

Most cases I've seen where AWD drift in some way is in rally, on either very tight corner where they turn the rear around with the handbrake or go full speed on fast dirt turns, finland style.

I hope he can, although the start of the anime and the stretching of one race into a bunch of episodes does not give hope.

There are many differences between the two, but the most obvious is that V-Spec II has a larger brake capacity If Hojo's GT-R had been a V-spec II, and if he had not taken extra care to strengthen the brakes, Ryosuke might have been in danger. ... And the name of this course that Ryosuke and his friends are running is called the Hakone Turnpike. The speed range is quite high among the various Japanese mountain passes, and the brakes are very hard to control, so a half-heartedly modified car will end up at the bottom of the valley. Not a modified vehicle, but some years ago a large truck loaded with chemicals went through a guardrail with flames spewing out of the brakes and into the bottom of a ravine.

Basically a turbo that's linked to the crankshaft instead of driven by waste gases.
