The fact that Rin was deliberately trying to kill Ryosuke just shows how much of a phenomenal driver Ryosuke is regaining control while being knocked by his R32.

Even Ryosuke said that the R32 power would be enough to overtake him but Rin wasn't trying to overtake, he only focused on kill him.

When I was younger, all I saw was a evil/bad man like Shingo just trying to take Ryosuke out. As mature adult, I saw a broken man that needed help and love. The near death experience brought enlightenment that awoken and saved Shinigami. He was finally able to wash away the hate and grudge and move on. This is one of the hardest, but best thing a human can do; forgive.

I've seen so many edits where it's not included and they just cut straight to the RX7 hitting the brakes.
The lack of dialogue and music really tenses up the mood, it really feels like he’s pushing his fc to the limit to stay alive during the battle.
Man early initial d without music would hit different. Imagine shingo’s death match with just a bit of internal monologue from him.

Initial D and Eurobeat were fated to mix. Taking them out, even just for certain races, would screw up the pacing of the show and just feel off compared to the rest of it.

Funnily enough it's not a turbo, it's a centrifugal supercharger.
Basically a turbo that's linked to the crankshaft instead of driven by waste gases.
This battle isn't as depressing without the music and that's what makes it hit imo

Yeah, they do it only when necessary. For Rin, it's pretty understandable, it's near impossible to drift an AWD car on fast corners.
Most cases I've seen where AWD drift in some way is in rally, on either very tight corner where they turn the rear around with the handbrake or go full speed on fast dirt turns, finland style.

I feel pain whenever the FC's getting dinged, but to hell with it when your life's on the line.
This is one of the best scenes in the anime. We so rarely get to see Ryosuke drive, and when we do see him drive, he's in a death race fighting for his life. 💯

I think these are the best moments in Initial D. During the first viewing, I felt something strange, a very strong pressure. This is not a race, this is a struggle. Literally.
They both do not want harm to each other, R32 would have killed him long ago if he wanted to. Terrible circumstances, love and death. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but this is truly the best thing I've seen in anime. In the industry in general...

Being a fan of Initial D and MFG, I can say with confidence i lke MFG and after seeing the trailer to the second season, the stakes are gonna be raised.

The GT-R used by Nakazato was a later model called V Spec II, but the GT-R used by Hojo is probably a base model from when it first came out.

Not a modified vehicle, but some years ago a large truck loaded with chemicals went through a guardrail with flames spewing out of the brakes and into the bottom of a ravine.
