This really is an exciting concept, how many times do we as car enthusiasts drive by a car under a cover or see an old barn with something sticking out and wonder “what’s under that cover?” Can’t wait to see what’s coming up next. Well done to the guy for selling it for that much. Just shows how rare these Esprit’s are…

Thank you Paul, such kind words and I’m so happy you like the idea! Plenty more to come. I’d absolutely love to film as much as possible, where about’s are you based?

this must be my sister car, I have a '85 NA red S3 without airco and that sunroof as well... same interior color but my binnacle is black

No way haha! It’s a small little family this Lotus community.

If you paid a Lotus specialist to completely go through and refresh that car top to bottom ie, full repaint, interior retrim, major engine service and carbs rebuilt plus numerous other things such as brakes and suspension work, wheels refurb and tyres etc etc how much would it cost?

James, it’s a tricky one but if you were getting a Lotus specialist to do the work then my rough estimate would probably be around £35,000-£45,000 but that’s just a rough estimate. It would also depend on the condition of the chassis and how much time it would take rubbing the car down for the respray. However I think Esprits at the moment are a worthwhile investment and a definitely on the up.

Agreed, would be a proper wallet busting exercise if you were to pay a specialist to do all the work. That car makes alot more financial sense as a DIY home project.I'm enjoying working on mine.12k is a good price for it,the days of cheap sub 10k Esprits are long gone!

An interesting idea and a welll presented first episode in the series. It had to be a Lotus didn't it, and an Esprit at that! My 2penneth: more on the history about the actual car being revealed plz rather than just make/model etc. And your audio is still muffled in places. I'm no film maker but a better and affordable mic must be available (seek Jay Emm's opinion?).

Thanks for your kind words, the main thing is having the right idea and I wanted as much feedback as possible on this episode so I can make the other ones better. A mic is definitely on the list of things to buy to improve my content don’t worry.
Haha! Had to be a Lotus haha! Yeah I’m going to involve more of a backstory to the other cars I do for sure!
Thank you for your comment again, I really appreciate it!
