- In this video I finally start construction on the Jon boat! In efforts to make space to run wiring for electrical, I add some convenient storage. This will allow me to safely enclose the battery and main wiring components and also add storage to the already small 12ft boat. Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to the channel and hit that thumbs up! More upgrades to come!

Y’all throw some names out for this bad boy! I’m thinking Juanita….🤔
What name did you pick? My boat just says ADDICTED on the side in BIG letters, 😆
Nice headband my daughters hair just got long enough for them.
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Forward link for the transom plate. Thanks in advance!
I just cut a piece of plywood to fit and wrapped it in carpet 🤷🏽♂️
First of all I would put the battery compartment under the seat closer go the front to balance weight. Helps to properly plane out with a bigger motor. Backend weight is you and motor. Second, I would mount that hatch into the back or front side instead of on top. Have the door open to the side and just slide your battery in/out without lifting so much. Put one of those small lids into the top of your back seat, use a hot knife to cleanly cut out a small area of foam. You can coat the foam compartment with a coating. This will make an excellent insulated beer cooler😁
Great tips! Thanks for watching!
Was this a brand new boat?
Negative, it’s a 2014
Love them hatches can't wait to get my own
Thanks! Link is in the description, they’re real sturdy! Thanks for watching, hope it helped!
I had to do the same thing to mine. I like your hatches better though!
Yea I love them! But self-tap screws probably weren’t the best fastening system for them. Thanks for watching!
For that foam I tried a few things. What i found to work best was just taking a strip of the aluminum you cut out about 2 inches wide, heat it with a torch and cut through the foam like butter. don't need it that hot, just enough to melt through the foam. it will smoke so do it outside.
Great idea, I definitely should of tried that! Thanks for watching!
You're gonna wish you would have carpeted that bench
Yea those suckers get hot! I finally got a seat for the back and I keep a foam pad on the front. Thanks for watching!
Cantina.. Would it be possible to use the foam and glass in a fish box/ cooler?
Nice video btw.
Unless you remove the whole bench, it’s really hard to keep the foam in tact and it ends up being small messy pieces.
