Did you put a level across the hatch to see how much it is above the bench? Curious

Well, if I ever get a Jon boat, I know who to come see. Nice job. Are you up for some trout fishing?

Would love to get in some trout fishing! Right now we have archery tournaments every weekend with the school until March. Kinda cuts into my fishing time but Carson’s loving archery.

I'm looking at doing the exact same thing to my boat with a hatch that is just a little bit bigger than yours. Do you feel that the seat is still strong enough to stand on long term even without reinforcing the underside?

I would reinforce if it will be constantly stood on. The hatch itself seems sturdy but a piece of aluminum angle ran the width of the Bench on both sides would help the aluminum from flexing. I weigh 200 and the hatch supports me no problem in my application! Thanks for watching!
