I was just telling a friend ( November 12, 2023 ), about how I had a picture on my locker of a Greek Navy Seal, getting ready for the 2004 Olympics in Athens 🇬🇷🇬🇷👍👌
As a Greek American, the Greek Special Forces needs to learn a lot by the looks of this. Especially with supposed tensions with Turkey. The scanning on the boat looks unfocused & lazy compared to US Navy Seals & US Marines. I hope my Greek🇬🇷 brethren get plenty of US🇺🇸 Navy Seal help that they can get.
Its the editing. There are plenty of other videos which show just how high speed Greek special forces are. And I say this as both a Greek-American and a US army vet.
According to statistics, they have a very high success rate, one of the best in the world. Their special forces training regiment is based on the U.S regiment. Because of their proficiency and top-marks the Special Forces of Greece have recently been included by NATO into an exclusive club of the world's elite special forces, such as the US's Delta Force, Navy Seals and Britain's' SAS. For instance Greek special forces (ETA - Ειδικό Τμήμα Αλεξιπτωτιστών) achieved the highest possible rating by the evaluators from the NATO Special Operations Forces Headquarters. Because of this ETA is now part of NATO Special Operations Forces (SOF).
Also, I wish Greece🇬🇷 made firearms, pistols specifically… Kind of sad to see what looks like the Greek Special forces using a Glock in 1 clip… Glock is basic junk, runs, but it’s obsolete in today’s age in comparison… Anybody know what the Greek special forces actually uses for there pistols? I saw maybe a Sig in there as well? 🤔
there are glock 17s, glock 19s and some SIGs Glocks are common to police, coast guard and other interior security forces, while the Hellenic Coast Guard is a security force of the interior, it doesn't belong to the Ministry of Public Order/Interior/Public Civilian Security etc, but to the "Maritime" Ministry, and also the HGC is militarily organised. The SOF of the HGC, the MYK (Underwater Demolition Unit ) probably has some SIGs donated by their US counter parts. * HGC MYK - Underwater Demolition Unit (HGC SOF) not to be confused with OYK * Navy OYK- Underwater Demolitions Teams (also OYK is the ancient greek word for NO).
