- In todays video we finally get this years spuds planted. We get three of our vintage tractors, drillers and fertiliser spinner out to get the job done the old fashioned way with the family on hand to help out. Bro is head tractor driver for this one, judge his straight lines!!
Also an update on the chickens, pigs, bees and pumpkins!

Jez , this brings back memories !!! All those days sitting on the MF planter , planting " earlies " . No hopper on the planter , stacked the potato boxes a mile high , one hand holding the boxes , other planting . Bell ringing in my ear all day , could even hear it in my sleep !! 🤣. Wasn't too bad on a calm day , any wind and the dust blew off the tyres into your face . Tea time was a ham and mustard sandwich and a mouthful of grit !! 😜

Great to see uncle Ian out and about, a day like that must be a real tonin for him. we got bees as well this year, like that the learning curve is steep, also having issues with the fox and chickens. never a dull moment.

Brings back memories of my dad and two uncles with me planting the potatoes here in South Kilkenny, our 135 on the planter with the T20 ridging up. We tilled with our 6600 ford at that time.... All I have left of that crew and gear now is the T20 and myself with father and both uncles gone to their reward. But I resumed growing a few potatoes a few years back on my own for the most part because my children are working away from home. I have acquired another 135, and four cylinder 35.... a danso rotavator and a faun automatic planter..... can't replace the craic with the older folks unfortunately but I think of them when I'm out in the field.

Hello Farmer Phil Liv and family great vids just seen z vid from 10 generation farmer who is reviewing the new Massey Ferguson tractor only 12 in the States at the moment and one in North America where they Farm its 180 h.p 4 cylinder engine dont know much more as he has just got it hope that meets your approval I really enjoy your vids the vintage tractors I used to drive when I was on the Farm I'm 77 so remember big horses and worked them,The Good old days you really dont know you are born but you are a hard working family and you look as though you are cut out for Good Luck

Great to see old days farming. I can almost smell the soil and the diesel. I spent some time in Denmark planting leeks and cauliflower using a similar implement. Lots of banter and good fun but back breaking. Makes such a change from seeing clips with enormous bits of tack roaring around the fields and the operator isolated in his cab

Good to see ye diversifying. Back in the seventies every farm had some poultry and a vegetable patch in addition to the main enterprise. It's important not to lose the skills 🇮🇪

Great fun with the potatoes setting with the historic tractors and machinery but realy great to see Uncle Ian back out and about and part of the great adventures and I am sure his expertise and knowledge is still a great a help and hopefully going foreward he will still have a lot to offer so keep up the recovery as a good man is always wanted and experience cannot be bought ....

Hi Phil. Rab here from Antrim I planted a small plot of spuds like you's boys. Fergie planter with no hopper box on a 35, and my mate Brian Kelly planted both sides him self 😃 sat right in the middle of the planter on a board and carpet. That was on the 26th April. Spuds are up through 👍🏼👍🏼 love the videos Rab.

Ive got a TED20, was wondering about planting a little potato patch… all our land used to be potatoes, farmed by my neighbour. He used 3 fiat 110-90’s, 3 fiat 680’s, and 3 fiat crawler track things. Was a proper operation
