I’m so happy you made this video mang . I lost like 6 straight reikland campaigns in warhammer 2 before I managed to beat the vampires. It also took me a few campaigns to realize that in wh3 u need a big melee frontline

So true! I think that some of WH2's options for the Empire still work okay in WH3. But I do find that across pretty much all races in game 3 that having a little more melee frontline coverage helps.
I believe this is because of the nerfs to Reload Reduction Time they implemented in game 3. 10% doesn't sound like too much, but it seems to have been just the right amount to put the pressure on the ranged meta that existed previously.
Players can definitely still bring ranged-heavy armies, and still should, but they need more support now than they did previously.

Very good, please teach more people to kill Vcounts, so that they don't cry for nerfs when they don't strategize to defeat them.
As a Vcounts main, it's really sad that my main faction gets silly nerfs all the time, when all you need is to shut down the altars and necromancers.
You might also want to include a luminark to snipe the necromancers and mortis engines. Cut off the enemy healing, and the rest will crumble easily.

Nice vid. I usually end up running outriders instead of hand gunners to be able to quickly maneuver and keep shooting. Can also harass the general and have him chase a unit of outriders to the other end of the map for the whole fight.
Although I appreciate that handgunners have more numbers

Outriders are another great option. My concern is that they could get run down by some of the enemy's flying units too easily. Though as a friend has taught me, you should just bring some of your own Cavalry to help deflect those flying units if that were to happen. The speed buffs that they gave to Empire cavalry are something that can be easy to overlook!

Grenade launchers. Done. No need to over-complicate things.

A friend had actually suggested them as an option - having a couple Grenade Launcher Outriders covered by some Empire Knights or Reiksguard can be a great way to devastate their infantry troops on approach while keeping your units fairly well protected.
I should have put it in the video but didn't quite find the time to try it out or the room to fit it properly into the video itself. I'm glad you shared that advice here though!

Problem in campaign is that the dead will rise again... Your army was badly mauled after the battle, now what if Vlad and half or more of his army, full strength, comes back ? Urggg
And ambushes DON'T eliminate the enemy army, unless it was changed in the latest patch!!

    • @itsmehawkeyeg
      @itsmehawkeyeg  ปีที่แล้ว

On the ambush topic I'd have to guess it's probably been my experience from them running into it in march stance. Something I realized after the fact!
The point of the demonstration battles however is to show what the results can be like with no additional advantages. In the actual campaign you'd have research, Faction and Lord bonuses, and Lord skill tree bonuses which should give you a much greater advantage.
The other points I made in the video are designed to avoid the problems with Vlad coming back with half his army. Fighting in their territory will make it harder for you to avoid that - which is why you need to either attack them while they're trapped in a settlement, or wait in your own territory for them to overextend. If you go in planning to fight a war of attrition you will lose. Instead you have to out-maneuver them on the campaign map in order to create the kind of overwhelming advantage you may need to push swiftly through their territory with the correct kind of opening.

dude i keep getting wreaked the east gets dominated by a chaos faction the north has a really strong army that takes alot of effort to even get rolling back by turn 6 everything north of me hostile i have to face one of these threats before even engaging the counts by the time i do they're unstoppable fielding at least 6 armies to my two that are straining my economy to the max and my allies at this point are gone or way to weak to reastablish an assist meaningfully if i dont face the east all of bretonia is gone if i dont go north chaos hits my core province and im surrounded by chaos and vamp corruption every campiagn is a decided loss at the start and this isnt even to mention the elfs and beast heards which make me loose critical areas at the worst time by about turn 20 im completely surrounded the situation is hopeless iv even tried diplomacy but this makes me unable to stop civil wars even as all factions before me get steam rolled... is this because im missing one DLC? any help would be appreciated im at a loss

How did you get such a good economy???

Time and patience! Since some of the campaign footage is taken from after I took over Sylvania there is a Gold Mine in there that's helping a lot. Plus I believe I still had Hochland/Brass Keep territory as well.
Between that and trade agreements with everyone in sight it's not too tough to manage things. Keeping a good balance of high quality and mid quality armies is important as well. Your main army should be the best things you can get, but you can go a bit more affordable on secondary armies which are just there for backup or for help mopping up undefended territories.
