I've become a fan of War Wagons. Same tier as handgunners, 360 firing arc, mobility, fire over your own lines and can block larger units from penetrating into your warmachines in a pinch.
They're great as vanguard bait for Reiksguard/Blazing Suns charges or used in conjunction with the Bordermen or Huntsmen. Absolutely deadly.

Can you get the imperial authority confederation dilemma to fire after turn 40-50+?
I can't despite reaching 10 fealty with a couple of them. Seems weird if they haven't fixed this yet as it effectively makes KF and Balthazar unplayable...

Something is broken with it right now. Exactly what I couldn't say - but there's a couple options available.
I would recommend the "Patch 2.2 Empire Politics Fix" mod. You can use this on a campaign in-progress and it will fix it. I'm guessing I ran into a similar issue as you, but this did work for me! And CA has it listed as a "Known issue" which means they're aware of it and will be working on it / fixing it soon. Ideally in the next patch.
Otherwise you could use the "console commands" mod. This would let you do pretty much whatever you want whenever you want. Of course that would include confederations for the Empire. But the Politics Fix mod seems to get things going back to normal so I think that's what I'd prefer.

    Great video

I'm giving this a thumbs up. First and foremost, the speaking on this video compared to the other video I watched on this channel (Karl in TWH2) is huge. That other video was 90% uh uh um duh uh gak um umuhuh. It almost made me want to puke. But I withstood it anyway to try and learn. Somehow host has changed his voice and improved speaking significantly more normal human.
The only problem I have with this is tips and tricks. Does not actually explain how to play. Which is the issue most users have here. How does that elector count circle work? What is even elector count? How to up/down fealty? How does prestige work? What even is Imperial Authority and how to improve it? As well as the special decision making aspect. There are a bunch of things significant to this campaign that users just don't know how to use. Users need to know the basics since it is not explained too well in the game.
Next is probably one of the biggest confusions about this campaign is how to get Helmgart. I don't even know how I got it. Before even getting the last settlement in my province, I was somehow able to fight their main army in field. Then immediately attacked Helmgart. But still pretty confusing on how to get it. Difficulty = VH/VH. So it may not be an issue for lower settings.
Also, you cannot get archers or free company militia at the start unless you pay $20 for expansions. $10 for each. FCM-TWH1 and Archers-TWH2. Without the expansions, they will be not be in the game at all. You will only be able to recruit spears and swords at the start. Which is part of the issue with trying to get Helmgart. Also, without expansions, you only have one category for recruiting lord.
It's good this mentions what to do with Britonnia. Whether to ally or kill them. Because I wasn't sure what to do. I went against them because they were pissing off my mijit friends. Also because I thought it would be a good idea to try to ally with Wood Elves. I haven't gotten very far so I'm not sure if my plan is a good idea. I wa contemplating going to war with Argwylon. But have avoided it as long as Karak-Norn is safe. Which they have been so far. But I'm also wary about pact with them due to pissing off Karak-Norn.
This video is overall helpful to know about for future. Since I'm enjoying this campaign so far. It's really fun despite some minor early access issues. Not worse than having to discontinue my Cathay due to glitch. Which is the reason I ended up looking into which factions are most developed in the early access - Karl and Belakor.

Yeah after making these sorts of videos for over a year I'd like to think my skills have improved a bit! I appreciate the feedback and I'm happy to hear that improvement has actually occurred :)
Great point about the Elector Count system too, I feel like that's something I should do a separate video on for it's own sake but of course would have been worth mentioning here. It is something that would have extended the length of the video by quite as bit as well however!
Another great point about DLC units... it's been so long since WH1 I honestly no longer realized that Free Company Militia were also a DLC unit! In that case what I'd do is simply recruit Swordsmen to start out. You'd end up with more than you need for a while, but you'd switch to Crossbowmen recruitment as soon as possible and then reduce Swordsmen amounts as appropriate.

I tried to repeat the basic campaign strategy of expansion from WH2. I went first for the Grom and save Bretonia. Easy fight and extra levels and just then moved to kazrak and festus. It went very well. I found your channel just recently, please continue making this great content. Cheers!

One of the biggest mistakes I've seen made in this campaign is going to attack Festus when the player really isn't ready.
It's important not to wait too long, but if the player just tries to rush them down at the wrong time they'll basically ruin things for themselves instead. The Warriors of Chaos are pretty strong right now, and their strength really is in their armies and not as heavily in their cities. As the Empire it's also especially important to consider the right tools to use against the enemy you're facing - and you won't have access to the right tools until you've built up your infrastructure a little bit more.
Definitely a good option to go and help Bretonnia win some fights early on to keep things safe on that flank so you can focus on restoring the Empire!

xbows are just better than handgunners in most situations. your example army has swordsmen in it. They are worse than useless. I am currently playing as empire and never ever use handgunners. They cannot fire over the defensive line unless you get lucky with terrain. xbows can be used no matter the situation.

Well frankly this is just wrong. Handgunners have armor piercing which is required to deal with the majority of enemies past turn 40 or so. They're superior to Crossbowmen in every way except for one - line of sight. Which is an issue that's very easy to overcome simply by using terrain effectively or having a good formation set up. Crossbowmen are fine in the early stages of the game but their performance quickly diminishes as time goes on.
