With my build, I ran eta bottom end including rods, crank, block, “i” 885 head. Cylinder walls had to be overbored so I think 84.5…can’t remember exactly. So I had to use custom forged pistons. Also had to use oversized bearings. Complete stock head. I ended up at the dyno with 157whp. Was building it to turbo it…but ended up trading it for a 135i :)
Hm maybe a m52b28 with a manual transmission. The N54 approach does not sound bad either as you already have the engine. Maybe also leave it stock, it has enough power and will stay reliable. I guess all that you presented sound interesting :) I would like to see a turbo build
Bring the CRX to the channel, I'll watch and you should do the period correct m20b25/27 swap and maybe turbo it...should still be reliable on 10+ psi and 300+ hp
I was thinking the same thing, an M20 or "2.7 stroker" would be pretty simple and epic, even with a turbo! As for the CRX, I think I'll bring it out at some point in 2025, it needs the dust knocked off it for sure.
yes to classic honda.. if not a beemer it should be a classic vehicle. my vote is for the n54. just simply for better reliability.. yes its the most expensive option, but all parts should be redily available. i would try to fit in the zhp 6 speed & make it into a stock-ish looking bomber (cruiser with power) the really only non stock thing i would do, is run a little fatter tire on the back, for more grip
I have great respect for you. So I don't put much into m,e telling you what I think you should do. Out of those choices I'm the bad bot that wants to see the N54 in that Chassis. LOL. Sorry. I actually have what the Smoking tire and many other channels and BMW freaks have said is "The greatest Chassis and engine combination ever combined" (Or something close to that lol) The S54 withe the full E46 M3 drive train into the E30. I have the drive train but not the E30. So I'm waiting for my time to go for it myself. MAYBE. I may not be able to afford the Chassis seeing as the price for a decent one is now insane. (I think you may have gotten one of the last ones for a reasonable price LOL. Good Luck. I'll be cheering you on all the way!!
I'd absolutely love to have an S54 but they're extremely expensive. I think it would be neat to do a 2.7 stroker and have it scream to 8000rpm. then again, we never got the 324td so I'm extremely conflicting if I put the M21 in it or not. I love weird builds like that, especially when it'll have an M3 or M Tech kit on it lol
M50 swap would be easy and it should work with the 260 trans. All of these seem like great ideas though!
We want to see Honda! 🤘
M20 no doubt
N52 with 3 stage intake manifold and full exhaust. 290bhp and reliable for a bmw. Tons of engines available.
aahhhhh, the more I hear about the N52 the more it sounds like the perfect engine for the e30.
M20 to keep the spirit of the E30

sounds like a ton of work but I do have all the parts. even with lower compression even a couple pounds of boost would help a ton.
M20 for sure! No N54 keep the soul! But the diesel would be cool aswell
I've narrowed it between the two, the "2.7 stroker" and an equally period correct M21D24 swap. both Inline 6, both turbo. Both arguable real cool.
M20 stroker... or M30 engine. 3,5 liter engine with desent torque to a light car ... but the diesel option would be fun too
I'm undecided and literally have every engine here, including the M30 lol.
😂🎉🎉 Yes bring the Honda why not anything doing with upgrade s on a veh hp etc. Is most definitely a learning experience 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I do have a ZEX nitrous kit for a Honda that's been collecting dust. Hmm. 🤔
Diesel would be cool, option 2 second choice and n45 last choice....

I think a turbo is required no matter what. 🧐
M20B27 or the N54 with the head swap to N53 from Hydra Performance. those are my vote.. and you have to crack it apart to refresh the N54 anyway
M54b30 is very popular
I do like that engine as well, just don't have one right now lol
Go Diesel!
I would LOVE to have a diesel e30, I'm not certain North America ever got the 324td.
They r super RARE in the states@@tony.nextlevelrides

@ sounds good, looking forward to see which route you decide to take this build n the CRX. Thank you
Something period correct would be cool
Diesel!

that would be a wicked swap, I even debated the N52 with a 6 speed manual. even around 300hp NA would be a riot.
M20 stroker
it's leading the list!
K24 - keep it light.
I debated that but know nothing about the K swaps unfortunately.
@@tony.nextlevelrides more kits and wiring harness around vs anything below
I already own a 324D E30 as a daily so i have tips
glad to hear! I'm always egar to learn about these.
M20, B48 or N52
I did debate the N52, that would be a great swap with 300hp.
N52 swap for a NA 250whp 220whp ~ setup with headers and intake with tune imo. R3VLimited forms in the 24V swap category for others builds
I may need to throw the N52 into the mix, it is starting to make a LOT of sense.
e46 M3 S54
if the S54 wasn't so expensive it would be a strong candidate.

M50/s50
M60/62

Kswap
Oh and front wheel drive has no excitement for me.
sure isn't!!
