I would say glossy black so not only matches the car paint but also it is easier to release dirt when washed either you apply a ceramic coating or not. By the way, you can also try to protect the frame with Bilt Hamber Hydrate80 since it will protect it from rust specially in Canada stuff they put on roads. Funny you hate red and I can't see red, green, pink, brown, orange, teal, violet colors like you do because of protanopia (colorblindness)😜
This Channel deserves so much more attention. They way you build your Cars with such perfection and using better performing parts is just exactly how i always imagined how i would restore a car. Im so glad that i somehow found your Channel because its such an inspiration. I still dream about doing something like this to my dream Car Skyline R34
Thank you so much bro! All I can hope for is that the people enjoy this kind of stuff find it and it helps them in some way or another. I appreciate the support!
This is honestly the best Chanel's to watch so much attention to detail and no cheap parts everything you do is quality man keep it up excited to see the transformation
Thanks man! Yes yes it’s very frustrating. Makes you wonder what people would do with 100% free thought and no bias. There will be a few parts sponsored on this car but they’re stuff I had sought out for a long time and managed to just get a small discount haha
Don’t forget to readjust and retorque the endlinks and sway bar mounts once you have wheels on the car and it’s under load. Otherwise you’ll have preload. Love this channel! Love love suspension refreshes.
I have a barn find 1987 325e - parked since 2001 - and this is so wonderful to see being documented 🥰 Gathering parts currently and I need to follow in your footsteps on this restoration
Awesome video of the suspension rebuild. Love the O.C.D. attention to detail. You are a genuine master of your craft. I'll bet she drives like a dream. I wish you well.
Great work man! Just completed the rear end refresh on mine and was looking for some info on the front and definitely found it here. Ps. the yellow tag is the same ratio as the purple tag, just a bit tougher to turn.
Thank you so much for tuning in man! Oh really? I always had thought gold was 3 turns and purple was 2.7 haha. However I’m not exactly sure .3 of a turn would ever matter the more I think about it. Best of luck with the build man!
Thanks man! Honestly I really love the documentation of the work on the cars. I personally don’t enjoy/watch content of people just talking about them as it doesn’t scratch any artistic itch for me. So I probably won’t make that kinda stuff but I do hope you’ll enjoy what I do make! 🫶🫶🫶
Looking good! I don’t know bmw’s well but it’s coming along nicely. I think semi gloss would look good too. On another note lol, Love that camera just wish I could afford it, it would help me out a lot. One day 🤞🏼.
Thanks man! I appreciate that! The camera is definitely very good but I have been considering switching up to that new fujifilm x100vi. Much more affordable too
Hey man, just a quick note. The worm screws on that steering shaft are sketchy at best on a street car and have been known to fail. I can tell you know this as you're putting in a couple failsafe's (drilling the shaft and red locktite) but its still a point of concern. If you insist on running it, just make sure you check the tightness on a very regular basis.
Thanks for the concern man! I’m going to keep my eye on them, with how the car is going to be set up I’ll have access below and above to keep tabs. Hoping all is good 🤝🤝
Love your content. Currently I have my NA Miata in paint after hoarding all oem exterior seals. Now I'm slowly collecting suspension and steering components. Hopefully it will turn out half as decent as yours. Also, I didn't ask in you under coating video, but why did you use the 3M stuff with all the other alternatives out there. Asking because I will also restore the wheel wells and don't know exactly what to use.
Thanks man! That’s really really rad! I hope it turns out exactly how you’re picturing. There’s a couple auto body shops that I really look up to and they both suggested it so it was a no brainer for me!
Your videos are incredible and I have learned a lot! I have a couple of questions if you would be so inclined to answer. -Where did you get the new OEM hardware and what sizes would be needed for the front and rear? If you had a link or write up on it I would absolutely love to see either one of those. -I'm looking to invest in a torque wrench as well. I noticed the one you were using, but it looks like there are two? Do you like the current one you have? -Last but not least do you think the Condor engine mount is worth it or do you think it will cause a lot of vibrations? Thank you for taking the time to check out my comment. I look forward to more of your videos!
Thanks Mike! I apprecoate that. Of course. - I use RealOEM.com to find the part number for all the hardware and then purchase it through FCP Euro OR ECS Tuning, you can save a couple cents here and there just getting the same size bolts locally but i prefer to buy OEM. - I use 2 wrenches because one has a higher threshold for torque and one has a lower. I belive the smaller one is 1 - 22ftlbs and the bigger is 20 - 250ftlbs. I use Maximum digital torque wrenches, i believe theyre only available in Canada. - I would do OEM mounts if youre worried about vibrations, my goal is very much race car spec so its not really a concern for me as I am looking for rigidity. I hope this helps my friend!
@@ChromaticGarage Thank you! This is really really helpful. I had one last question as well if you were able to answer. I am having a little bit of a tough time trying to find a quality rebuilt steering rack. I was battling between the Z3 and ZHP rack as well. Where were you able to source yours from and was it a pretty penny when doing so? I'm about to go through the whole suspension rebuild myself and love that you were such an amazing resource. Thank you again for the help!
Please debate below: Matte black? Semi-Gloss black? Or Gloss black for undercarriage parts?
I would say glossy black so not only matches the car paint but also it is easier to release dirt when washed either you apply a ceramic coating or not. By the way, you can also try to protect the frame with Bilt Hamber Hydrate80 since it will protect it from rust specially in Canada stuff they put on roads.

Thank you so much Rafael! Trying to learn and keep it fresh for you guys all at the same time. We all just playing with cars haha
Just great! I am honestly a bit tired of people telling me to buy whatever sponsorship they now have. As usual an honest and amazing video!

This & a cold beer after a long day of polishing ❤️
Bro, you‘re doing your thing!! Absolutly amazing. The car will be top notch!!
since this build is going to be a racecar, you planning on reinforcing the top hats?
Strut bars at both sides and bolt in reinforcement in the rear. Front isn’t really a concern for me

Will you not run into bump steer issues with this setup?
Do you still detail cars ? Like on your older videos 😃
Everyday man! Just been the most interested in recording this stuff at the moment. Lots of detailing stuff coming this spring!
What paint code is this?
A question, Are not Japanese BMW right hand drive? was this car sold LHD in Japan or was it converted?
