- Auction Boat with a Deep Discount on this HUGE 440 Carver Aft Cabin Motor Yacht! Plus a bonus 36 Carver.
I'm not sure which storm damaged this boat but I know it was before Hurricane Helen. The starting bid was $7,500 for this Carver but by the time I got this video up the auction ended and someone must of bought it because its no longer listed and unfortunately I can't find out what it sold for.
What do you think it was worth assuming the worst, that is salt water in the engine room?

Yes! More salvage videos. Would love to see what goes into making one of these float again, or what happens to them if they never get sold.
Yes more would be interesting . . And if you buy one vids on its resurection would be awesome too
Take care .
Bye from NZ👋🇳🇿👍🍻twa

Together: around 93,000.-
Conclusion:
For the money I get a well-maintained, identical yacht and don't have to wait months for repairs.
It would only pay off if I can do most of the work myself and the engines are not a total failure. Then half the money could be enough to make it all worthwhile again!
Edit:
Oh yes, the wage prices refer to Europe, I don't know the wage level in the USA!
Hey guys thinking of you and this latest hurricane Milton on its way.
Wishing you safety and lots of good luck this week.
Otherwise it's been nice knowin' ya!
Haha
Just a little hurricane humor.
Please post something on Thursday or Friday so we know you're ok, will you?
Steve Garey
More salvage for sure

Just another day in paradise.

Here comes Milton!! Likely will create more video opportunities for you, but unfortunate for the owners. 😢
Brian, I am up in Georgia. This got me thinking after Helene hit. I wonder if someone could assemble a bunch of these battered boats on a piece of property and create a tiny home community? Hmmmm. I don't know if it would be legal or not, but it sure could provide a bunch of housing for folks.
I have 5 acres and have thought of doing that with an air bnb. The redneck yacht club.
@@HarborYachtTours yes! I would imagine that they would be similar to mobile homes as far as codes go. Worth looking into for sure.
The challenge would be air conditioning. You would have to install mini-splits. Also find a solution for grey and black water. A travel trailer or FEMA trailer is the better solution.
@@sandiegowildcat Honey wagon for black water.
Open the seacocks, and pressure wash from the top down with an anti-bacterial...It'll be worth it to someone to refurbish. It looks like great bones to work with. Would love to see a tour of the big ship showed in your drive in and out of the shipyard. Unless something fell over an punctured the tank,I don't see how a diesel tank would leak in only 30 years.
Yes, I would love to get on some of these boats that are being refit doing it before and after.
Shout out to the UTSA roadrunner cup. Random for a boat in Florida
Looks like it was beautiful in it's day. I don't begin to know enough to comment otherwise.
I would make it dependent on the engines.
What you showed can be fixed easyly with not too much money.
However i suspect this is an insurance write off because something bad happened to the engines.
Not a Carver fan but this thing sure is roomy! I think for the time and money I would go for a sport fish model maybe Hatteras or Bertram. Something to hold it's value! Just my opinion! Great video.
I agree thanks for watching
With bull repair, age and mold, leaks, I’d go $5000 and not more. It’s gonna cost and a lot of care to shape up.
Like to know how you find these salvage boats
Wow the ss minow has been found wheres the skipper?
I love how TH-camrs say, "Damaged by the hurricane" and everyones first thought is, which one?
How could anyone bid on that boat with out seeing what is going on in the engine room
Show us the big boat!
No interior helm?
Nope
What site does the auctions?
How do you bid? I don’t see the auction?
Sold right away
Where would I have bid?
MAD MAX BOAT. LEAVE IT NASTY.
The 'tub' at the beginning looks like a Feadship.
I’d love to see her after the refit. How big do you think it was ?
@@HarborYachtTours 110'?
@@jerrycallender7604 good guess I’d say
i'd put it in the woods for a cabin
USS Minnow😅😂
What are they asking for it?
she sold right away not sure for how much
More money to throw away. Boats eat up too much money. Its insane.
👍✌️
I am looking and I live 30 miles away
Nothing $30,000-$40,000 won’t fix !
Du besitzt ein Boot? 🤔
He meant to say nothing 300-400k won’t fix 😂
Too far from Vancouver island in Canada to be worth while. Sure like the boat
7500 not a penny more
Questionable boat prior to the damage, much more after.
I’d have to agree Ken
It's a complete restoration job. You can get it for 7500 but you gonna need to put at least 30,000 in it to get it half decent. Not to mention all the time consumption. I'll pass on this one.
I think your estimate is low....very low.
@johnware6272 oh, I feel ya. My estate is if he can do all that crap himself. Hard to say
Agreed
I'LL PASS.
Even after the many K$'s to rehab this thing, you would still have a Carver. No thanks.
Money pit 😳
Gotta have engine room info. Useless video wo this
Carvers aren't worth a nickel. Paper thin hulls, I wouldn't take one out in more than 2 foot of chop. They are floating hotels, not boats, and everything is done cheap, cheap, cheap. You could dump a ton of money in this one and it still wouldn't be worth a nickel.
That's absolutely not true about the hall or everything done cheap. They were the best at their catagory in the 89s and 90s. Very thick halls untill you get to the 2000s. They are leasure boats. They're not supposed to be rough water or performance boats.
Sad, auctioning off other peoples dreams.
