Hope they are good as have tickets to see Opeth in Washington DC in Oct. at The Warner Theater Gonna be a killer night as this is one of DCs last of the 70s venues & one great place for concerts. Have to give these guys listen & if Mike likes them enough to take them on tour here, they must be worthy.
The new single has the last 1 min cut out because its a concept album and it transitions into the next song, so it would sound better when the album is released
I remember an edited version of Black Rose Immortal on some VA album. That was so bad. Just the acoustic part and "lullaby of the crescent moon..." part. Damn, do not cut these masterpieces.
The interviewer doesn't know anything about Mikael and his current status or the current state of Opeth for that matter. Maybe do some research and drink less beer before interviewing anyone. I feel like Mikael knows and feels it too. Which is why he's keeping his answers to one word/one liner only.
Walitteri is a hell of a drummer! I can't say a lot about Axe cause it was my first concert at Dortmund but my jaw dropped! Amazing power. I loved it! ❤
as far as I heard on first single from their new album is... yeah, Walitteri is good, technically but it doesn't have the soul that Axe had in it's drumming, not even close. It's like when Portnoy from Dream Theatre replaced by Mike Mangini. Sorry but, besides his jazzy prog feel, Axe knew how to tell a story not just being right on spot.
aaand, live, Walitteri is way too far from what Axe was doing from what I've seen. I love Opeth, truly and forever, but replacing Axe will be an open wound for me.
@@cristilucaciu9566 oh I am sorry to not bring more to the table when it comes to Opeth cause I am very new to their music and I don't play any instrument nor do I know how discuss music. I just enjoy the drum sounds and the beats. I am a simple listener. Didn't even know they changed their drummer. 😅🤷🏼♀️ but I must believe you that Axe was better somehow. But I know that Walitteri is still young. I think he will even grow and can come close.❤
Is Fredrik's mic even on? Edit: ah almost 3 minutes in and he just cuts in. That's exactly what you need to do, otherwise you'll have Mike doing stand-up for the remainder of the interview.
Hard disagree. Axe always felt so stiff, especially compared to Lopez. Even ony second or third listen of the new track I felt like the drums felt more natural
"We have a new drummer Valtteri."
"You haven't played any shows together so far, right?"
"We've done three tours."
forever the "new guy"
still has the new drummer smell
"edits arent gonna happen"
who 's gonna tell him 💀
exactly my thought :)
This is too funny
❤
Lol that's what I came to say too
Opeth with Tribulation has to be one of the best Tours ever! Hoping they come to Latin America soon
Tribulation is sooooo good

“Edits, that’s not gonna happen.” 💁🏻♂️
And that's exactly what happened 😂
They finally got Ian Anderson on!
5:00 makes me laugh.
"I'm a big Europe fan..."
"Who's not?!"
"Well... I don't know."
Blastbeats on an Opeth album. I'm calling it now.
(Yes, I'm aware of 'Lotus Eater')
And Hessian Peel, a little part at the end
@@NoriamSOADwreath live ending
@@jake-pw2wm Great example. I wish that was in the studio version.
@@BlackSailPass_GuitarCovers right? It also makes it pretty epic that they just whipped that out I woudlve been blown away seeing that live too

Why did no one cheer ehen Mikael said he was doing some screams again, i know i would have 😂
That's what I thought
Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they might have been too in the moment
Such a breath of fresh air for this year to have opeth announce an album and release a song
6:40 Each song on the album bleeds into the next. I'm so hyped!
Excited for the new album.🤘😈
I'd definitely go to see Opeth and Europe play together, that would be an awesome package!
The Final Conjuration
Cooles interview, gut rausgesucht. Auch gut locker mit Akerfeldt umgegangen. Gut, dass ihr nach dem Konzept gefragt habt 😊
2:53 made me think of Wario lol
I can’t wait to see them in Texas!!
Sem exagero nenhum, mikael é GÊNIO.
Can't wait! 🥳
Mikael is sooo intelligent and, well, funny. All respect to him and Opeth!!!

Schön, dass es euch auch noch gibt.
From Opeth to Hellbutcher. Axe makes a carrier move 🔥
Love Fredrick's rule.
... And published a single edit few hours after
Der Interviewer scheint keinen Plan zu haben, was die eigentlich sensationelle Aussage im Interview war.
Das Publikum auch nicht. Hätte ich über die Growls gehört, wäre ich gleich wie "AAAAAAAA!!!"

When we can expect you in Poland? :)

For me, no one can truly replace Martin Lopez as a drummer for Opeth. I was always a bit disappointed with Axe’s era.
holyfuck, when he said "we lost Axe during covid" I actually thought he passed away D'x
Is Fredrik's mic even on? Edit: ah almost 3 minutes in and he just cuts in. That's exactly what you need to do, otherwise you'll have Mike doing stand-up for the remainder of the interview.
Did they seriously kick their drummer out for refusing to get vaccinated?
I‘m wondering about that too??
Did you forget that back then, a vaccination card was required to travel, among other things?
@@everson_vinicius ok, that‘s true.
Wtf is this true? I thought Mikael had enough of axenrot's handicaps. He would drive him around lol
Awesome interviewer. But who are the two bums on the right side who just released a radio edit of §1?
The guy’s good but I really miss Axe. He was the definitive Opeth drummer. Just immaculate feel and groove.
Agreed, waltteri is doing well, but I miss Axe too
Lopez
Hard disagree. Axe always felt so stiff, especially compared to Lopez. Even ony second or third listen of the new track I felt like the drums felt more natural
Martin Axenrot wasn't even the best Opeth drummer named Martin lol Martin Lopez before him was a better drummer still.
@@travistotle "Better".. I think "different" suits it best. If I had to choose I would also go for Lopez. He has a feel beyond the others.
the irony of your comments about shortening songs cut by a giant awkward edit cut.
Die Jump cuts sind echt nervig aber nettes Interview
I don't understand German but I just commented how bad the jump cuts were.
Ey wie schlecht sind die Absperrgitter bitte.
Macht ja die ganze Stimmung kaputt
The jump cuts in this video are absolutely awful, it's so amateurish, search for a youtube video to teach you how not to do them.
I just received the new a,but. Track 16 is very close to Tout Le Monde by Metallica
How did you get the album?
@@jake-pw2wmIt's a troll. The album doesn't even have 16 tracks. Also, "Tout Le Monde by Metallica" should be a dead giveaway lol.
